The data of 391 middle-aged women in this study were collected from 4 culture centers. The interviews were conducted from March 1 until March 25 in 2011 using a structured questionnaire. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis using the IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program. The variables in preparation for elderly life regarding their health were exercise, good nutrition, proper sleep, and health examination. From the data, the preparation for elderly life regarding middle-aged women's health for successful aging was identified. Therefore, health service programs and healthy environment should be varied based on the result of this study.

  • This study examined the effects of ego-resilience and emotional labor on work-family conflicts among middle-aged female workers. Data were collected through self-reported structured questionnaires of 148 middle-aged female workers from October 2, 2013 to April 10, 2014. The results suggest that the mean score of work-family conflict was 25.59 (SD=11.99) and there were significant differences in living arrangements (F=4.32, p=.015), monthly living expenses (r=.18, p=.028), and job satisfaction (F=6.33, p<.001) by work-family conflict. Work-family conflict was negatively related to ego-resilience (r=-.28 p=.001). Living arrangement (living with parents, children) (${\beta}=.29$, p=.045), monthly living expenses (${\beta}=.22$, p=.006), job satisfaction (${\beta}=-.20$, p=.015), and ego-resilience (${\beta}=-.28$, p<.001) were identified as significant predictors of work-family conflict. This model explained about 19.0% of work-family conflict in middle-aged female workers (F=6.61 p<.001). Therefore, as a strategy to reduce the level of work-family conflict in middle-aged female workers, it is necessary to consider socioeconomic factors such as living arrangements and living expenses that affect work-family conflicts. Moreover, applying psychological intervention to improve job satisfaction and ego-resilience of middle-aged women in the working environment will help reduce work-family conflicts.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of body composition, leptin, total cholesterol and BMD on a long-term exercise paticipation in middle-aged women. Twentieth subjects were divided into three groups, obesity group, over-fat group and normal group. These data were analyzed by One-way ANOVA and Corelation Analysis. Obesity group was higher than over-fat group in body fat volume (p<.001). Obesity group was higher than other groups in BMI (p<0.05). Normal group was higher than obesity group in radius BMD (p<0.01). Body fat was positively correlated with BMI (Rsq=0.8411) and radius BMD (Rsq=0.6736). but, BMI was negatively correlated with tibia BMD (Rsq=0.6714).

  • Generally, the osteoporosis of a middle-aged women have been reported that was a high risk in underweight, but the obese women have feasible osteoporosis. Therefor, the subjects were 120 middle-aged women that were diagnosed with osteoporosis in the bone mineral densitometer (BMD), this study was done for the purpose of analyzing the relationship between osteoporosis and body mass index (BMI) of the middle-aged women. We were determined BMI which was less than 18.5 underweight, 18.5 to 22.9 normal, 23.0 to 24.9 overweight, 25.0 to 29.9 obesity and extremely obesity were more than 30. When we examined the BMI distribution of the subjects, it was 2 women (1.7%) for underweight, 18 women (15.0%) for normal, 19 women (15.8%) for overweight, 75 women (62.5%) for obesity and 6 women (5.0%) for extremely obesity. Also, the relationship between osteoporosis and BMI of the subjects, it was the osteoporosis in 13 cases out of 18 (72.2%) with normal, in 14 case out of 19 (73.7%) with overweight, in 63 case out of 75 (84%) with obesity, in 5 case out of 6 (83.3%) with extremely obesity, besides, the osteoporosis usually marks the highest in a BMI with obesity. In conclusion, the result of analyzing the relationship between osteoporosis and BMI, we found out that the osteoporosis of the middle-aged women was high risk with obesity, and that was mostly higher the osteopenia rather than osteoporosis.

  • This study examined the effects of a 12-week combined exercise program on blood lipids, albumin, and free fatty acid (FFA) levels in obese, middle-aged women, aged 55-64, who were within five years post-menopause. The participants were divided into two groups: a moderate-intensity exercise group (MIG, n=10) and a high-intensity exercise group (HIG, n=10). Both groups performed resistance exercises using elastic bands and aerobic walking on treadmills three times a week for 60 minutes per session. Data analysis involved calculating the mean (M) and standard deviation (SD) for each measurement item. A two-way repeated measures ANOVA was used to assess interaction effects between groups and periods. Paired t-tests were conducted to evaluate within-group differences over time, and independent t-tests were used to compare between-group differences. The statistical significance level was set at .05 for all analyses. Results showed a significant interaction effect for triglycerides (TG) among the blood lipids (p<.05). No statistically significant difference was found in albumin levels. FFA levels significantly decreased in both groups due to the interaction effect (p<.05), with a more pronounced decrease in the MIG group. These findings indicate that regular exercise is effective in improving and preventing obesity in post-menopausal, obese middle-aged women. Notably, moderate-intensity exercise had a more substantial impact on TG and FFA levels compared to high-intensity exercise. Therefore, continuous moderate-intensity exercise is recommended to improve obesity and promote a healthy lifestyle before transitioning into old age.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of home training with app on metabolic syndrome risk factors and atherogenic index in on obese middle aged women. It was carried out to present as an intervention method for improving obesity in the pandemic era of COVID-19. The subjects of this study were 33 obese middle aged women, AHTG(n=15) and CG(n=18). Home training using the app for 8 weeks was conducted 3 times a week. The results of this study as follow, metabolic syndrome risk factors was WC(p<.001) significantly decreased, HDL-C(p<.05) significantly increased and atherogenic index was LDL-C/HDL-C(p<.01) significantly increased in the AHTG. In the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, PA plays an important role in alleviating the severe COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to its ameliorating effects on several chronic diseases. The possibility of home training using an app is an effective intervention method for preventing obesity and metabolic syndrome.
