Wave Responses and Ship Motions in a Harbor Excited by Long Waves(II) (항만내 파도응답과 계류선박의 운동해석(II))

  • The motion response of a ship moored in a rectangular harbor excited by long waves has been studied theoretically and experimentally. Experiments are performed in a shallow basin. A ship model is set moored by soft springs at various positions in a model harbor subjected to regular waves with period ranging from 2 to 3 seconds. Wave and ship responses are measured and compared with theory. It is found that theoretical results agree qualitatively with experimental results. The main source of quantitative discrepancies is presumably due to real fluid effects such as separation at the harbor entrance and friction on harbor boundaries.

  • 스펙트럼선의 선폭증대 현상을 방출영역 내 기체입자들이 열운동에 의한 단순 도플러 효과로 가정하여 중심에서 어느 한쪽으로 심하게 치우친 스펙트럼 선윤곽를 해석한다. 본 연구에서는 태양활동영역에서 흔히 관측되는 좌우 비대칭의 선윤곽을 서로 다른 가우스속도분포의 기체성분들이 시선방향으로 중첩된 결과라 해석하고, 최소자승법을 이용한 비선형 선윤곽 맞춤질에 의해 스펙트럼 방출영역에서 떨어져 나가는 기채들의 온도 및 분출속도에 관련된 도플러선폭과 도플러이동량을 구하였다.

The Motion Control of Concrete Floor Finishing Robot (미장로봇의 운동제어)

  • The 2-trowel type concrete floor finishing robot can move in any direction by adjusting the posture or trowels without any wheels. Since the quality of the smoothed and polished concrete floor is determined by plastering speed, we need to control the velocity of the robot. However, we cannot use the typical motion control method because it is very difficult to measure the velocity of the robot, in contrast to the mobile robots with wheels. To overcome this difficulty, the following are studied in this paper: we found that the robot dynamics has the disturbance depending on its translational speed, and showed that there exists the saturated velocity of the robot which is set by the posture of the trowels, and obtained the relationship between the saturated velocity and the posture in the translation. The result enables us to control the motion of the robot only by adjusting the posture of trowels without measuring the velocity of the robot. Currently, we built the troweling robot and are experimenting its performance with the proposed motion control method.

The Effect of The Forward Head Posture on The Maximum Mouth Opening of The Temporomandibular Joint, The Muscle Activity and The Asymmetry Rate of The Temporalis and Masseter (머리전방자세가 턱관절의 최대 개구량과 관자근 및 깨물근의 근활성도와 비대칭률에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effects of the forward head posture on the maximum mouth opening of the jaw joint and the muscle activity and asymmetry of the temporalis and masseter. The craniovertebral angle was measured in 50 subjects (23.10±2.73 years) who met the selection requirements of the study. The maximum mouth opening, muscle activity, and muscle asymmetry were measured by reducing 0%, 10%, and 20%. As the craniovertebral angle decreased, the maximum mouth opening decreased (p<.001), the muscle activity of the right and left temporalis decreased (p<.001), and the muscle activity of the left temporalis also decreased. (p<.01). The asymmetry rate of the added muscles of the left and right temporalis, left and right temporalis, and masseter increased according to the change in condition (p<.01). The results of this study are expected to help establish a treatment strategy and comprehensive diagnosis for the temporomandibular joint and present a theoretical basis of manual therapy and therapeutic exercises used for the treatment of TMD.

  • The Yechon shear zone developed by strike-slip movement was formed in a relatively high temperature condition just after the Jurassic syntectonic granites had been emplaced during Daebo Orogeny. Post-emplacement formation of the shear zone is favored by continuity of foliations and lineations within and without the granites, development of mylonitic structures in the wallrocks, deformation of pegmatite and felsite dikes, and pretectonic growth of porphyroblasts in the wallrocks. A variety of shear sense indicators in the shear zone are predominantly observed in the intensely to extremely deformed rocks. They show that bulk non-coaxial detormation has occurred, and that the sense of shear is consistently dextral with S-C fabrics, grain shape fabrics, asymmetric porphyroclast systems, mica fish, asymmetric extension structures and quartz C-axis fabrics.

Uncertainty Analysis for Seakeeping Model Tests (정현파 중 운동모형시험에 대한 불확실성 해석)

  • The present paper describes an application of UA(Uncertainty Analysis) to seakeeping model test, basically according to the Performance Test Code of ASME(American Society of Mechanical Engineers), in which all the possible error sources involved in the preparation of test, calibration of instruments, data acquisition and analysis are quantified, and summed up with error propagation coefficients to the final uncertainties. The differences between the static test such as resistance and propulsion test and the dynamic test like seakeeping test are clearly identified during all the procedures of UA and asymmetric bias errors are considered. The DRE(data reduction equation) subject to present UA are the heave and pitch response amplitude operator and nondimensionalized absolute frequency. The usefulness of UA in seakeeping test were confirmed not only for quantifying errors and improving measurement accuracy but also for the validation of various seakeeping analysis tools.

Effect of Pilates Reformer Training on Gait Improvement of Subjects with Asymmetric Pelvic Rotation (필라테스 리포머 운동이 비대칭 골반 돌림을 가진 대상자의 보행 개선에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Pilates Reformer training on gait improvement of subjects with asymmetric pelvic rotation. The seven subjects with greater pelvic rotation in right swing were assessed twice, 4 weeks apart, during which there was submitted to a Pilates Reformer training (three 40 min session per week). The kinematic data consisted of pelvic rotation and flexion angle of hip and knee joint was measured during gait. In comparison between both leg swings, max, min and range values of pelvic rotation was not significantly difference. After training, range of pelvic rotation in right swing was significantly decreased, but in left swing was not. In comparison between both leg swings, the values of max of hip and knee joint angle was significantly difference. After training, max values of angle of knee joint in right swing was significantly increased, but in left swing was not. The result of this study revealed that Pilates Reformer training was effective in improving gait to symmetric pelvic rotation.

Improved Curved Beam Theory for Vibration and Deflection Analyses (진동 및 처짐해석을 위한 개선된 곡선보이론)

  • To overcome the drawback of currently available curved beam theories having non-symmetric thin-walled cross sections, a curved beam theory based on centroid-shear center formulation is presented for the spatially coupled free vibration and elastic analyses. For this, the displacement field is expressed by introducing displacement parameters defined at the centroid and shear center axes, respectively. Next the elastic strain and kinetic energies considering the thickness-curvature effect and the rotary inertia of curved beam are rigorously derived by degenerating the energies of the elastic continuum to those of curved beam. In order to illustrate the validity and the accuracy of this study, FE solutions using the Hermitian curved beam elements are presented and compared with the results by centroid formulation, previous research and ABAQUS's shell elements.

In-line sputtering system에서 Al:ZnO 막의 대면적 증착시 가스 유동의 영향

  • 태양전지용 투명전도막에 사용되는 Al-doped ZnO (AZO) 막은 저가이면서도 가시광역 영역에서 갖는 우수한 투과율과 낮은 비저항을 갖는 특성 때문에 ITO의 대체 재료로서 최근 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히, 양산 현장에서는 in-line type의 대형 sputtering system에서 증착하고 있으며 높은 증착 속도와 박막 특성의 균일도가 중요한 과제다. 본 연구에서는 $2\;m\;{\times}\;1\;m\;{\times}\;0.2\;m$의 sputtering system에서 기판 캐리어를 이용해서 커다란 기판을 좁고 긴 타겟의 양쪽으로 왕복 운동을 하는 swing dynamic deposition 방법으로 $272\;mm\;{\times}\;500\;mm$ 크기의 AZO target (Al 2 wt%)을 이용하여 bipolar pulsed dc로 증착하였다. 이 시스템의 배기는 TMP와 cryo pump를 이용해서 $5\;{\times}\;10^{-7}\;Torr$의 기본 진공도를 얻으며, 공정 중에는 TMP만 사용하였다. 하지만, 본 시스템의 TMP는 비대칭 적으로 한쪽에 치우쳐 설치되어 있는데, 이것이 챔버 내에서 공정 가스인 Ar의 유동의 불균일도를 초래하게 되며, 그것이 증착되는 박막의 두께 균일도 및 특성 균일도에 영향을 주고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 다른 기본 진공도에서 증착된 AZO 박막의 특성 차이를 알아보고 비대칭 배기 구조가 in-line type 시스템에서 어떠한 두께 및 특성 불균일도를 가져오는지, 그리고 시스템 내부에 발생시키는 압력 불균일도를 상용 3차원 전산 유체해석 프로그램인 CFD-ACE+를 이용하여 분석하였다.
