  • Recently, attention to the pandemic situation represented by COVID-19 emerged problems caused by unexpected shortage of medical personnel. In this paper, we present a method for diagnosing the presence or absence of lesional sign on PA chest X-ray images as computer vision solution to support diagnosis tasks. Method for visual anomaly detection based on feature modeling can be also applied to X-ray images. With extracting feature vectors from PA chest X-ray images and divide to patch unit, region-specific abnormality can be detected. As preliminary experiment, we created simulation data set containing multiple objects and present results of the comparative experiments in this paper. We present method to improve both efficiency and performance of the process through hard masking of patch features to aligned images. By summing up regional specificity and global anomaly detection results, it shows improved performance by 0.069 AUROC compared to previous studies. By aggregating region-specific and global anomaly detection results, it shows improved performance by 0.069 AUROC compared to our last study.

  • Optical satellite images are being used for national security and collection of information, and their utilization is increasing. However, it acquires low-quality images that are not suitable for the user's requirement due to weather conditions and time constraints. In this paper, a deep learning-based conversion of image and colorization model referring to high-resolution SAR images was created to simulate the occluded area with clouds of optical satellite images. The model was experimented according to the type of algorithm applied and input data, and each simulated images was compared and analyzed. In particular, the amount of pixel value information between the input black-and-white image and the SAR image was similarly constructed to overcome the problem caused by the relatively lack of color information. As a result of the experiment, the histogram distribution of the simulated image learned with the Gray-scale image and the high-resolution SAR image was relatively similar to the original image. In addition, the RMSE value was about 6.9827 and the PSNR value was about 31.3960 calculated for quantitative analysis.

  • A large number of features are collected for problem solving in real life, but to utilize ail the features collected would be difficult. It is not so easy to collect of correct data about all features. In case it takes advantage of all collected data to learn, complicated learning model is created and good performance result can't get. Also exist interrelationships or hierarchical relations among the features. We can reduce feature's number analyzing relation among the features using heuristic knowledge or statistical method. Heuristic technique refers to learning through repetitive trial and errors and experience. Experts can approach to relevant problem domain through opinion collection process by experience. These properties can be utilized to reduce the number of feature used in learning. Experts generate a new feature (highly abstract) using raw data. This paper describes machine learning model that reduce the number of features used in learning using heuristic function and use abstracted feature by neural network's input value. We have applied this model to the win/lose prediction in pro-baseball games. The result shows the model mixing two techniques not only reduces the complexity of the neural network model but also significantly improves the classification accuracy than when neural network and heuristic model are used separately.

  • The purposes of this study are to derive suggestions and implications to improve the continuity of Korean Science & Practical Arts (Technology Home Economics) curricula through international comparative analysis with focus on the science curricula or standards in five countries (Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, the United States, Korea). Original documents of the national curriculums or standards of each country collected from NCIC comparatively analyzed the big concepts of the 'system' and 'energy' based on features of related components of curriculum contents, vertical, and lateral connectivity. The results indicated that the big concepts of systems and energy were used internationally to consider the curriculum continuity. In most countries, the big concept of system was used as a framework to integrate science with technology or other contents. In particular, it was also utilized to strengthen vertical and lateral connectivity in earth science and space science contents area. In the comparison of countries for the system as the big concept, New Zealand focused interrelationship between system and human activities, systems' interaction, levels and features of system concept for the linkage between grades and subjects on the basis of level. In the case of Canada and Singapore, science and technology are combined to strengthen contents' connection. However, the revised 2015 curriculum has a lack of continuity and sequence because the concepts of system and energy were concentrated on a specific grade and contents' area. The curriculum was not developed systematically for multiple grades according to their levels. In conclusion, Korean science curriculum requires sufficient understanding of students' learning and research on learning progressions and curriculum continuity. In addition, it is very important to constitute the curriculum based on the vertical and lateral connectivity in order to improve science education and to foster students' key competencies and abilities.

  • This study explores and compares how three guidebooks on intercultural education in Europe (Education Pack, Intercultural Learning, and Intercultural Education in Primary School) define their objectives, contents, methods, and evaluation in order to promote intercultural education to young people and adults. All these three guidebooks start with the underlying fact that difference is the reality of our societies and propose similar objectives. These guidebooks include furthering an understanding of the reality of an interdependent world, going beyond negative prejudice and stereotypes, and generating positive attitudes and habits of behaviors towards people from other societies and cultures. They also suggest similar contents for intercultural education, which all relate to the discovery of mutual relationships and the dismantling of barriers between people from other cultural backgrounds. However, with regard to methods, they show significant contrast: Education Pack and Intercultural Learning propose several stages that consist of imagining ourself from the outside, understanding the world we live in, being acquainted with other realities, seeing difference positively, and favouring positive attitudes, values and behavior, while Intercultural Education in the Primary School insists on positive learning, discussion and group work. Evaluation remains the least developed area in intercultural education; fortunately, the last guidebook treats this problem more seriously than the first two by dedicating a whole chapter to it. What is required of us now is determining how to adapt the principles and approaches of European intercultural education to Korean societies and schools.

  • The system of teaching culinary practice needs drastic modification to catch up with dietary life and education curriculum changes. To reflect such changes, it is necessary to instill a strong will and interest as well as educational environment improvement in teachers. In this sense, this study researched the teachers' stages of concerns, levels of use, innovation configuration, and intervention demands, based on the CBAM(Concerns Based Adoption Method) developed by Hord et. al. For the survey, 500 questionnaires sent by mail and 187 were analyzed by SPSS/win 10.0 program. The results are summarized as follows. 1) The teachers stages of concerns on culinary practice is assessed to be in the lowest level of perceptual stage, which indicates a state of indifference. 2) In terms of the levels of use, routine use was the highest, followed by refinement use, integrated use, research use, and reinvent use in descending order. Mechanical use posted the lowest level. Even though the stages of concern showed the beginning stage, the Level of use was relatively high. 3) About the innovation configuration, approximately 30% of the teachers were not accomodate the culinary practice referred to the 7th National Education Curriculum. 4) According to the intervention demands on culinary practice education, it was found that teachers generally wanted more interventions in every component. Among the intervention components, the highest demand was on the support for facility. Demand on the financing is the second highest. Teachers in the level of routine use demanded more information and materials supply and individual encouragement, but teachers in the level of preparation needed study opportunity for training on operation skills more.

  • This study aims to investigate and analyze the perception of communication capability which is one of the sub-competencies of NCS vocational substructure basic competence, and then seek the direction of prospective courses. To do this, the researcher conducts a non-face-to-face survey by creating five questions under the following five categories: The importance and necessity of communicative competence, students and educators of communicative competence classes, contents and methods of curriculum and teaching and learning, communicative competence and writing skills and operation of extracurricular programs. This researcher has been teaching basic education even before the communication skills curriculum was created in college, now, in a situation where communication skills have become selective education, it is intended to grasp the perception of college students about communication skills for first graders. This study attempted to analyze the survey area in more depth through group FGI after conducting an online survey by dividing it into several items. As a result, students felt that communication skills became motktkre important through COVID-19. Among the bottom five communication skills, speaking skills were found to be the most important, reading ability was recognized as the least important. On the other hand, there was a strong hope to know about the level of communication ability, type of communication, and method of communication about oneself. In addition, they recognized that communication skills should be learned in their first year of college, and hoped to be operated at all times as a non-disciplinary program. In particular, in the bottom five areas of communication skills, the expectations and actual hopes for speaking skills were the highest compared to the rest, and in terms of teaching and learning methods, they wanted to improve their skills through feedback and practice rather than theory. These research results have great implications for setting the direction of operation of classes, such as the content and method of classes in communication skills, in the future.

  • This paper suggests an extended memory polynomial model that improves accuracy in modeling memory effects of RF power amplifiers(PAs), and verifies effectiveness of the suggested method. The extended memory polynomial model includes cross-terms that are products of input terms that have different delay values to improve the limited accuracy of basic memory polynomial model that includes the diagonal terms of Volterra kernels. The complexity of the memoryless model, memory polynomial model, and the suggested model are compared. The extended memory polynomial model is represented with a matrix equation, and the Volterra kernels are extracted using least square method. In addition, the structure of digital predistorter and digital signal processing(DSP) algorithm based on the suggested model and indirect learning method are proposed to implement a digital predistortion linearization. To verify the suggested model, the predicted output of the model is compared with the measured output for a 10W GaN HEMT RF PA and 30 W LDMOS RF PA using 2.3 GHz WiBro input signal, and adjacent-channel power ratio(ACPR) performance with the proposed digital predistortion is measured. The proposed model increases model accuracy for the PAs, and improves the linearization performance by reducing ACPR.

  • Recently, a music genre classification has been studied. However, experts use different criteria to classify each of these classifications is difficult to derive accurate results. In addition, when the emergence of a new genre of music genre is a newly re-defined. Music as a genre rather than to separate search should be classified as emotional words. In this paper, the feelings of people on the basis of brightness and darkness tries to categorize music. The proposed classification system by applying VCM(Variance Considered Machines) is the contrast of the music. In this paper, we are using three kinds of musical characteristics. Based on surveys made throughout the learning, based on musical attributes(beat, timbre, note) was used to study in the VCM. VCM is classified by the trained compared with the results of the survey were analyzed. Note extraction using the MATLAB, sampled at regular intervals to share music via the FFT frequency analysis by the sector average is defined as representing the element extracted note by quantifying the height of the entire distribution was identified. Cumulative frequency distribution in the entire frequency rage, using the difference in Timbre and were quantified. VCM applied to these three characteristics with the experimental results by comparing the survey results to see the contrast of the music with a probability of 95.4% confirmed that the two separate.
