(1996) model showed that role of the work and nature of the work in attorney's practices had an significant influence on the attorney's information seeking behaviors. This study now asks if these prior analyses can be applicable to attorneys' practices nowadays. This study performed surveys and interviews with 21 practical attorneys in korea who were grouped by their experience period and the size of law firms. This study concludes that role of the work in Leckie et al. model still affects the attorneys' information seeking behaviors today and moreover, the attorney's experience and the size of law firms as variables also have made an impact on attorney's behaviors so far. By the way, this study further finds that the attorneys prefer the digital information in online database and formal information like statutes or case laws. These results are definitely different from them of the prior studies. In addition, this study suggests that the behavior such as meaningful using of the informal information in difficulties with improper information can be kinds of the attorney's information seeking behaviors.

This study was performed in order to identify the changes in national research activities of art and humanities by using a multi-modal approach. The combined methodology of in-depth interview and content analysis on publishing and citing behaviors in literature was executed. The steps of research process is identified as a non-linear combination of 3 parts: developing research idea, developing the research idea to write, and submitting manuscript to publish. Prominent implementations of cyberscholarship were found in the 2nd step for accessing and using research data and literatures. Understanding the characteristics of scholar communication using cyberscholarhip factors in humanities for interdisciplinarity, sophisticating the environment of cyberscholarhip for data sharing, investing and developing archivist and archives, and providing a various platform for accelerating scholarly communication were derived by the panel discussion for developing interdisciplinary research for humanities.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate non-work relating activities at work. To do this, this paper proposes and analyzes a simple theoretical model consisting of factors such as non-work relating smartphone usage during working hours, non-work relating coffee break during working hours, work after working hours, and job performance. Our findings are revealed as following: First, non-work-related coffee break has positive effect on performance. Second, non-work-related smartphone usage generally has negative effect on performance, but it has positive effect on performance in personal communication with co-workers. Third, work after working hours has negative effect on performance.

  • Because of continuous outbreaks of disasters and emergencies, the importance of government crisis management has been increased. This study analyzed the Korean government's response messages during the 2015 MERS outbreak, which was an emergency issue that showed a great ripple effect. According to the three diffusion phases of MERS, the semantic network analysis of 134 press releases on the central and local governments' official web sites of MERS was conducted. The results showed that during the early stage of MERS, the central government misperceived the crisis situation, and as a result, specific and enough information was not provided promptly regarding a list of hospitals with known MERS exposure and prevention method. During MERS diffusion and decline stages, Seoul and Gyeonggi-do provided more specific and actionable messages than the central government. This study was meaningful in that it analyzed and evaluated crisis communication messages during an outbreak of the infectious disease. The findings of this study provide useful implications for government officials in their crisis management and communication strategy during emergency risk situations.

  • In today's increasingly data-intensive academic environment, data is becoming the foundation of academic communication as a research outcome rather than a research by-product. However, there is a limit to guaranteeing actual data reuse only by expanding the data supply or securing accessibility. In order to overcome this, it is necessary to understand the data reuse behavior and data needs in-depth. Therefore, this study attempted to identify the major data reuse behavior and data needs among researchers. To this end, the authors of KCI papers among the data reuse documents of the Korea Social Science Data Archive (KOSSDA) for the past 3 years were targeted. An in-depth interview was conducted with 12 researchers who accepted the interview. As a result, factors considered when reusing data were personal, economic, technical, and social aspects, and it was found that the data itself was used or contextual information of the data was used depending on the purpose of data reuse. The path to acquiring data is a web-based source of information, and a path through informal communication can also be found. In terms of the data needs, it was found that they prefer English, the United States, and institutional producers. Also they have a clear preference for quantitative data from an interviewer-filled interpersonal interview survey method, rich metadata along with raw data, and data that contains identification information. However, due to the lack of confidence in the value, it is negative for the use of data with controlled access and use, and it is difficult to confirm a clear preference because there is no similar data available for selection in terms of size and freshness.

  • The integration of environmental and innovation policies is perceived to be essential in order to deal efficiently with environmental and innovation problems. This study analyzed environmental policy integration in Finnish technology policies in view of system transitions and policy integration. Finnish environment-innovation policy integration is assessed empirically by focusing on the policy strategies, implementation, and evaluation processes. Furthermore, this study compared Korea's environment-innovation policy integration with that of the Finnish experience, and drew up policy implications from the comparative study in order to come up with Korean contexts. Moreover, since green growth and eco-innovation are core issues in Korea today, it is important to ensure that system transitions and policy implementations take into account the various forms of policymaking, as well as political, organizational, and procedural activities.

  • This paper develops the argument that the 'Healthy Cities Approach' extends beyond the boundaries of officially designated Healthy Cities and suggests that signs of it are evident much more widely in efforts to promote health in the United Kingdom and in national policy. It draws on examples from Leeds, a major city in the north of England. In particular, it suggests that efforts to improve population health need to focus on the wider determinants and that this requires a collaborative response involving a range of different sectors and the participation of the community. Inequality is recognised as a major issue and the need to identify areas of deprivation and direct resources towards these is emphasised. Childhood poverty is referred to and the importance of breaking cycles of deprivation. The role of the school is seen as important in contributing to health generally and the compatibility between Healthy Cities and Health Promoting Schools is noted. Not only can Health Promoting Schools improve the health of young people themselves they can also develop the skills, awareness and motivation to improve the health of the community. Using child pedestrian injury as an example, the paper argues that problems and their cause should not be conceived narrowly. The Healthy Cities movement has taught us that the response, if it is to be effective, should focus on the wider determinants and be adapted to local circumstances. Instead of simply attempting to change behaviour through traditional health education we need to ensure that the environment is healthy in itself and supports healthy behaviour. To achieve this we need to develop awareness, skills and motivation among policy makers, professionals and the community. The 'New Health' education is proposed as a term to distinguish the type of health education which addresses these issues from more traditional forms.
