Quality Characteristics of Yanggaeng Prepared with Fermented Blueberry by Lactic Acid Bacteria (블루베리 유산균 발효물을 첨가한 양갱의 제조 및 품질특성)

  • Blueberry juice extraction (JE), hot water extract (HE), and 50% ethanol extract (EE) were fermented with Lactobacillus plantarum CGKW3. We investigated the quality characteristics and antioxidative activities of yanggaeng prepared with different amounts of fermented blueberry extract (JE, HE, EE). The viable cells in fermented HE was higher (7.49 log CFU/mL) than JE (7.28 log CFU/mL) and EE (6.99 log CFU/mL), during the fermentation period. The viable cells and acidity in yanggaeng increased significantly with increasing levels of fermented blueberry extract (p<0.05). In terms of color, the lightness and yellowness decreased significantly, but redness increased with increasing levels of fermented blueberry extract. In the texture profile analysis, control showed the highest result in hardness. Cohesiveness did not show significant differences, according to amount of fermented blueberry extract. The springiness decreased with the increasing levels of fermented blueberry extract. Antioxidant activity, which was measured by DPPH and reducing power, was significantly higher than those of control; and it increased proportionally according to the amount of fermented blueberry extract. Anthocyanin contents were increased proportionally with the increasing levels of fermented blueberry extract. Sensory evaluation showed that the color, taste, flavor, texture, and overall acceptability of yanggaeng containing the JE, HE, and EE were higher than those of the control.

DeepPurple : Chess Engine using Deep Learning (딥퍼플 : 딥러닝을 이용한 체스 엔진)

  • In 1997, IBM's DeepBlue won the world chess championship, Garry Kasparov, and recently, Google's AlphaGo won all three games against Ke Jie, who was ranked 1st among all human Baduk players worldwide, interest in deep running has increased rapidly. DeepPurple, proposed in this paper, is a AI chess engine based on deep learning. DeepPurple Chess Engine consists largely of Monte Carlo Tree Search and policy network and value network, which are implemented by convolution neural networks. Through the policy network, the next move is predicted and the given situation is calculated through the value network. To select the most beneficial next move Monte Carlo Tree Search is used. The results show that the accuracy and the loss function cost of the policy network is 43% and 1.9. In the case of the value network, the accuracy is 50% and the loss function cost is 1, respectively.

  • In order to apply the patient monitoring system to the hospital field, it is necessary to be able to measure and analysis data the major bio-signals that are basically covered by the existing patient monitoring system. We have implemented a wearable device and the patient monitoring system for measuring ECG and oxygen saturation. The implemented system transmits the measured bio-signal to the server on the nursing station via Bluetooth. It is represented by graph waveforms and numerical values that can be checked by the medical staff in the patient monitoring system. The validity of this system is verified by comparing the data collected through the designed system with the data obtained from the conventional equipment.

  • The Bluetooth is expected to be one of the most popular wireless telecommunication technology in the near future, and the protocol stack is essential to providing the various services with the Bluetooth-embedding systems or devices. The Bluetooth specification is an open, global specification defining the complete system, however, the protocol stack is usually implemented partly in hardware and partly as software running on its system, with different implementations partitioning the functionality between hardware and software in different ways. I investigate how to design and implement the Bluetooth protocol stack according to its specification. I focus on the HCI and the lower layer of the software protocol stack as a basic step for the development of our own protocol stack. As a result, paper provides how to partitioning the role of HCI layer, and how to implement the relationship between HCI packets, it's functionality and the flow control. Experiments show the discovering other Bluetooth devices and their connection. Furthermore experiments demonstrate the proper operation of data communication between the Bluetooth modules.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive key success factors' priorities to industrialize can art using AHP methodology and to suggest blue ocean strategy of can art. First, the survey result showed that the most important factor was eco-commercialization(0.227). And cultural value(0.223), distribution(0.217), experience learning(0.202) are presented in order in terms of the importance. Second, it also suggested eco-design(0.118), recycling improvement(0.118), education value increase(0.117), viral marketing(0.113), and various experience learning(0.105) as detailed important factors. Moreover, this study implies that can art needs to focus on intensifying environmental craft education and eco-commercialization as blue ocean strategies.

  • In wireless communications such as Bluetooth, Baseband should be able to minimize the DC bias of the data which passed the modem interface of either transmitter or receiver for the reliability of the circuit and the integrity of the data. The transmitter scrambles the data to send randomly to the error correction block and the receiver recovers the randomly spread data as they have been. To design the whitening block, it is important to select the prime polynomial for the filtering. In this paper, we designed a optimal whitening block using the prime polynomial $g(D)=D^7+D^4+1$ for hardware and area efficiency. The proposed hardware whitening block was described and verified using Verilog HDL and later to be automatically synthesized. The synthesized whitening block operated at 40Mhz normal clock speed of the target baseband microcontroller.

  • In this paper, a system that transmits ECG signals which get from hand baggage ECG is implemented by using Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth technology is a close range wireless communication used wireless frequency 2.4GHZ bandwidth. This technology consumes very small power and provides high reliability also self error correction with high speed frequency hopping. Because every device which uses Bluetooth protocol can communicate each other. These can connect between the system implemented and any devices such as mobile telephone with Bluetooth module, notebook, and the personal mobile device. Also, the paper proposes capability of transmission to the sever of hospital through each type of wireless communication device that acquired medical information signals in mobile medical machine. The system consists of hardware parts with Bluetooth module and host part, and software parts with bluetooth protocol stacks. The host precesses a connection with other device and transmits ECG signals with bluetooth frequency hopping sequence.

  • Recently, Ionic Polymer Metal Composite (IPMC) systems receive great attention in the fields of the medical and biomedical Engineering because of several merits in terms of new actuators and sensors and fuel cell materials. When the voltage is excited to IPMC system, it moves. Conversely, if there are any movement on the IPMC, the IPMC has charge voltage by the internal properties. Therefore the IPMC can be used as a motion sensor or force sensor. In this paper, we identify characteristics of the IPMC and control its movements from remote locations by the smart-phone system based on visual information for monitoring. Additionally, control of movements of the IPMC is realized by transmit motion commands using the smart-phone system with the blue-tooth communication. Unfortunately, there are some deficiencies to perfectly attain physical properties of the IPMC systems from our experiments in this paper. However, in its utilization point of view, we demonstrate that the IPMC has some potentials as new sensors, actuators, and fuel cells.

A Study on efficient transmission performance improvement Considering the security in the wireless LAN environment (무선랜 환경에서 보안을 고려한 효율적 전송성능 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, new technologies based on wireless LAN is being studied because utilization on smart phone using Wi-Fi is increased. 802.11 b/g/a is universalized wireless LAN technologies based on ISM, the standard developed in 11's working group of IEEE 802. standardization about IEEE 802.11ac that overcame limitation on Blue-ray of IEEE 802.11n or uncompressed video transmission and IEEE 802.af's technologies using TVWS is being actively studied. In this paper, ability of transmission considering the security on AP operated by these technologies have measured and done a comparative analysis with existing wireless LAN environment ability of transmission measured when appling security is more stable than existing ability of transmission in an environment with obstacles and shorten of transmission time is confirmed as a result of analysis.

Sapphire Enhancement with BeO Powder Source (BeO를 확산원으로 한 사파이어의 향상처리)

  • We heat treated pure sapphire samples at $1800^{\circ}C{\sim}100$ hours in BeO-${Al_2}{O_3}$ powder by varying BeO contents of $5{\sim}50\;wt%$ in order to quantify the BeO diffusion enhancement for corundum gem stones. We investigated the heat treated samples with visual evaluation, color coordination analysis, and surface roughness measurement. We confirmed that $Be^{2+}$ ions did not lead to orange color but to dark gray. The lightness in CIE Lab index decreased while surface roughness increased rapidly as BeO contents increased. We propose that BeO yellow color enhancement may be feasible only for $Fe^{3+}$ rich blue sapphires and sub-5% BeO content be appropriate to shorten post re- cutting process.
