Development of 4-Channel Particle Counter based on bluetooth Supporting FMS (FMS를 지원하는 블루투스 기반의 4-채널 미세 입자 계수기 개발)

  • In this paper, we developed a 4-channel particle counter for measuring particles, temperature, humidity in production facilities of clean-room environment, and the measured data can be transmitted via bluetooth. To measure the particle size ranging 0.3um~5um, we designed optical lens, particle detection chamber and multi-channel particle detection circuit. And we also developed a FMS program for real-time monitoring of measuring data, which resulted in the stable operation.

Location Tracking System for Container Trailer Using Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (USN를 이용한 컨테이너 트레일러 위치추적 시스템)

  • This paper describes position tracking system of a container trailer approaching to a gantry crane for loading or unloading a container into or from a ship, respectively. Proposed position tracking system informs the trailer driver of right position to stop the car under a gantry crane. To measure the location of a trailer, we used Cricket Mote modules which adopted RF and ultrasound technology. We present an elaborate method to improve position errors occurring at sensing and calculate three dimensional position by triangulation along with how to reduce location tracking interval for real-time monitoring. The location information was transmitted to a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) periodically through Bluetooth communication for guidance of the trailer driver. In indoor and outdoor tests, position errors were less than 3 cm and location tracking interval was 0.5 second on average.

  • In this paper, based on Arduino, a vehicle is installed at the bottom of the 3D printer so that Arduino controls the vehicle that can expand the moving space. A stepping motor was mounted on the front wheel of the vehicle and precisely controlled using a motor driver. As a result, when moving 5cm, 25cm, and 50cm, the mean value of error rate was 0.6%, 0.04%, and 0.02%, respectively, to enable accurate distance control.

  • In this paper, we intend to develop a cart with the convenience of moving objects or items that are difficult to hold by the hand of the disabled and the elderly from outdoor activities to a moving location. Using GPS module, DC motor, Bluetooth module, magnetometer sensor, and Blynk application, the smart follow cart was programmed to accurately know the owner's location while following the cart. The values of latitude and longitude of the magnetometer sensor are set so that the correct leverage value can be obtained in the lead for fine adjustment of the start and stop angles so that the user's position can be freely detected. The above motor driver L298n was connected to the motor to drive the DC motor at a fine angle. A smart follow cart was implemented that receives location signals according to the direction of the owner by turning on/off the mobile phone app as a switching role by connecting the GPS through Bluetooth wireless communication using a smartphone.

  • The flying-disc game has started since 1940. It has been spreading rapidly in Korea since 2007, mainly in elementary schools. Additionally, as sports science has been developed, research on flying discs has been continued to build a monitoring system for technological improvement and efficiency. In this paper, we acquire information on the user's flying-disc using 9-axis motion sensor and GPS. Then we propose a method for wireless transmission using Bluetooth 5.0. Specifically, the HW platform was designed and implemented not only to monitor a real-time data but also to compare and analyze rotational speed, flight trajectory, and a count of disc rotation through post-processing.

  • To compensate voltage error of the channel selecting filter, a current comparison type voltage tuning circuit is designed. Because the proposed current comparison type voltage tuning circuit is not need to attach another subcircuit, the chip size can be reduced, therefore the proposed circuit is very useful in the low voltage and low power channel filter. We used three channels including bluetooth communication system as application circuits of the proposed tuning circuit. As the results of HSPICE simulation using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology verify that the proposed tuning circuit respectively can be operated in $12{\mu}s$, $13{\mu}s$ and $15{\mu}s$ in three channel.

  • In this paper, low voltage and two stage CMOS Class E RF power amplifier for ISM(Industrial/Scientific/Medical) Open Band is presented. The power amplifier operates at 2.4GHz frequency, and is designed and simulated with a 0.35um CMOS technology and HSPICE simulator. The power amplifier is simple structure of two stage Class E power amplifier. The design procedure determing matching network was presented. The power amplifier is composed of input stage matching network, preamplifier, interstage matching network, power amplifier, and output stage matching network. The matching networks of input stage and interstage were constituted by pi($\pi$) type and L type respectively. At 2.4GHz operating frequency, and with a 2.5V supply voltage, the power amplifier delivers 23dBm output power to a 50${\Omega}$ load with 39% power added efficiency(PAE).

ANN-based Adaptive Distance Measurement Using Beacon (비콘을 사용한 ANN기반 적응형 거리 측정)

  • Beacon enables one to measure distance indoors based on low-power Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology, while GPS (Global Positioning System) only can be used outdoors. In measuring indoor distance using Beacon, RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) is considered as the one of the key factors, however, it is influenced by various environmental factors so that it causes the huge gap between the estimated distance and the real. In order to handle this issue, we propose the adaptive ANN (Artificial Neural Network) based approach to measuring the exact distance using Beacon. First, we has carried out the preprocessing of the RSSI signals by applying the extended Kalman filter and the signal stabilization filter into decreasing the noise. Then, we suggest the multi-layered ANNs, each of which layer is learned by specific training data sets. The results showed an average error of 0.67m, a precision of 0.78.

A Bluetooth/WiFi Dual-Mode RF Front-End Module Using LTCC Technology (LTCC 기술을 이용한 Bluetooth/WiFi 이중 모드 무선 전단부 모듈 구현)

  • This paper presents a compact bluetooth/WiFi dual-mode dual-band RF front-end module(FEM) is realized by low temperature co-fired ceramic(LTCC) technology. The proposed RF front-end module consists of a diplexer, baluns in the LTCC substrate, and an SPDT switch, an SP3T switch on the LTCC substrate. In order to reduce the module size and increase integration level, the proposed diplexer and balun are designed using LC lumped elements. The parasitic elements caused by coupling effect between metal pattern layers and ground plane layer are considered during the design. The fabricated dual-mode RF front-end module has 13 pattern layers including three inner ground layers and it occupies less than $3.0mm{\times}3.7mm{\times}0.66mm$.

A Study on Distance Calculation Revision Algorithm using the Filtering of RSSI Measurement Results (RSSI 측정결과 필터링을 이용한 거리계산 보정 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • The indoor location based service proposed in the study was assigned to target a moving user. Positioning in the outdoor environment is accurate while using GPS. However, in an indoor environment, positioning is inaccurate and difficult. In order to overcome this, studies of various techniques for positioning based on wireless communication such as Wi-Fi, Zigbee and Bluetooth are being performed. The RSSI value and the delivery signal of the bluetooth beacon are measured according to the distance, and to a database. It was applied calculating the value for the average RSSI and the RSSI filtering feedback. Filtering is used to reduce the error of the RSSI values that are measured at long distance. When average and feedback filtering coefficient are set with 0.5, irregular and highly RSSI values are decreased. As the distance increases, the range of error is confirmed to have a reduction when using a distance calculation correction algorithm. Finally, when using the RSSI measurement results filtering, it corrects an unstable signal. Also, the distance correction algorithm is used to reduce a range of errors.
