드럼 브레이크에서의 열응력에 의한 내구성을 통한 융합적 분석 (Convergent Analysis through Durability by Thermal Stress at Drum Brake)

  • 본 연구에서는 드럼자체와 브레이크에 대한 시뮬레이션 해석을 하였으며 열해석 결과와 구조 해석을 통한 내구성을 고찰하여 그 해석 결과를 얻었다. 브레이크 실린더로 인하여 힘을 받는 라이닝,라이닝의 확장으로 인하여 힘을 받는 드럼 내부, 축의 회전으로 인하여 힘을 받는 드럼에 대한 열응력 및 구조 해석을 통하여 어느 부분에 등가응력과 변형량이 큰지를 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과를 종합하여 브레이크 디스크설계에 응용한다면 열변형 방지 및 그 내구성을 증대시키는데 활용성이 클 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구 결과는 실제적으로 드럼 브레이크에서의 열응력에 견딜 수 있는 내구성 있는 설계에 유용하게 적용할 수 있다. 계절별 기차선로 이음새에서의 내구성 해석을 적용함으로서 본 연구 결과가 미적인 설계에 응용되는 융합 연구에 유리하다고 보여진다.

  • Creak noise is kind of scratching noise which is usually generated in drum brake system on the vehicle. When driver brakes vehicle or applies parking lever, drum brake shoe moves to the drum side to stop the vehicle. And at that time, moving shoe scratches backing plate ledge surface, and that makes scratching noise in special condition. This study presents how we can generate creak noise in the laboratory and how we can reduce it by experimental approach. Through several and various type of tests, we could generate creak noise with damage on ledge area of the backing plate in the lab and we verified tab type shoe design can reduce this scratching noise. As a result of this study, we notified how creak noise happens in the vehicle, and that tab type design shoe has good performance of ledge area damage based on lab test(rig & dynamometer equipment), and that this can reduce potential risk of creak noise in the field.

  • Along with the rapid development of automobile industry in this country the necessity of high quality braking material is ever increased to maintain the comfortness as well as the safety the passengers. Asbestos-based friction materials are banned in the developed countries because of their cancer-inducing effect. This study focuses on the development of non-acbestos friction material with acceptable properties such as wear resistant high temperature endurant and low-noise enducing. We have all the intermediate test results indicating the contribution of each additives. These are qualitatively analyzed. Manufacturing processes such as opening of the kevlar and degasing at elevated temperature is equally important to attain proper level of friction quality.

브레이크 라이닝 패드의 마찰 진동 (Friction-Induced Vibration of Brake Lining Pad)

  • Friction-induced vibration characteristics of automotive brake lining pad are investigated on the basis of experimental observations from a pin-on-disk type friction-induced vibration experimental apparatus. The measured responses of the experimental apparatus show limit cycles of quasi-harmonics type and beat phenomena due to the velocity dependence of friction force. To deduce the friction coefficient vs. relative velocity Lienard method is adopted with least square fit. It shows Scurve which characterizes a quasi-harmonic vibration. The calculation of amplitudes and friquencies of the limit cycles is done using slowly changing phase and amplitude method. The theoretical and numerical results show fairly good agreements with those of experiments.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study and analyze the improvement method for the failure examples including the vehicle brake system in actual field. It was verified that the indicator plate of pad wear scratched the brake disk because of wearing after displacement of non- identification parts pad. The caliper of other vehicle was installed with brake system verified the phenomenon produced groove in center point because of one side wear when the pad was not fully contacted with the rub disk by other action surface pressure and pad action condition. It verified that the crack phenomenon fatigue was produced by brake thermal deformation because of decreasing the thickness by grinding to modify the non-uniformed wear of brake disk. It verified that the friction sound was produced by the friction phenomenon because of non-uniformed contact of lining and an alien substance with inner of the drum and lining braking by crack phenomenon with brake drum surface.

  • The rapid expansion for the auto-industry and the worldwide trend toward non-asbestos friction materials for brake lining force our industry to transfer into non-asbestos ones from asbestos-based friction materials. Furthermore, it is imperative for the friction materials to have technological excellence and lower production cost to be competitive in the world market. There is no known theoretical procedures to formulate friction materials. It, rather, depends on the trial and error process. Thus, it is quite clear how important it is to accumulate the know-how on the formulation and manufacturing the friction material. This study concerns the practical ways of conceptualizing the formulation and optimizing the manufacturing process. This study focused on the development of formulation for non-asbestos friction material as well as deriving the physical properties of the trial product to prove its validity and applicability. Elaboration of the formula and optimizing scheme of the manufacturing process to get better quality are also sought. Physical properties were obtained by constant velocity test dynamotest, hardness test and strength test. Differential scanning calorimeter was also used to analyze the thermal reactions of organic constituents, microstructures, bond effects, and degree of mixture.

대형 트럭 자동차의 엔진냉각수 누출, 제동 및 배기시스템 과열에 관련된 화재사례 고찰 (A Study for Fire Examples Involved in Engine Coolant leakage, Brake and Exhaust System Over-Heating of Heavy-Duty Truck Vehicle)

  • 논문은 대형트럭의 화재에 관련된 고장사례를 고찰한 논문이다. 첫 번째 사례는 6번 실린더 라이너 상단부와 실린더 헤드 사이에 접촉하는 D링부의 변형으로 헤드 가스켓부의 기밀불량 현상으로 냉각수가 누출하여 엔진이 과열되었다. 이 열이 에어크리너 주변 배선에 전달되어 쇼트(short)에 의해 화재가 발생된 것을 확인하였다. 두 번째 사례는 자동차의 리어(Rear) 4축 브레이크 라이닝 과다마모로 브레이크 작동 S 캠(Cam)이 리턴되지 않아 브레이크 라이닝이 드럼과의 계속적인 마찰에 의한 마찰열에 의해 화재가 발생된 것을 확인하였다. 세 번째 사례는 엔진 점검을 위해 캡을 틸팅하였을 때 틸팅 모터의 과부하로 배선의 단락현상이 발생하여 이 불꽃에 의해 화재가 발생한 것을 확인하였다. 따라서, 대형트럭의 화재는 철저한 관리를 하여 화재발생을 최소화하여야 한다.

무어링 윈치의 분할각도에 따른 강도해석 (The Strength Analysis of Mooring winch according to the division angle)

  • 기계장치에 있어서 브레이크 시스템은 기계의 안전상 동작만큼이나 중요한 부분이다. 기계를 급히 정지시켜야하는 비상시에 기계가 멈추지 않으면 큰 사고로 발전할 수 있기 때문이다. 이것은 모든 기계장치에서 공통된 사항이며, 선박에서 또한 마찬가지이다. 선박에는 2종류의 계류장치가 존재한다. 그 중 하나는 항해하는 선박을 근해에 정박시키기 위해서는 해저에 닻을 내리는 윈드라스 윈치이며, 또 다른 하나는 배를 항구에 계류시키기 위한 무어링 윈치이다. 그 중 기존에 사용하는 무어링 윈치의 경우, 브레이크 밴드가 하나의 철판으로 만들어져 있으며, 브레이크 밴드와 라이닝을 연결하는 볼트의 파손이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이 파손을 방지하기 위해 유한요소해석 프로그램을 사용하여 응력이 집중되는 부위를 선정하였고, 이 부위를 분리하여 응력 집중을 해소하였다, 또한 이 분리지점의 각도에 따른 해석을 수행하여 최적의 위치를 선정하였다.
