A Study on the Characteristic of Logomark in Apparel Brand - Focused on Unisex Casual Brand - (의류 브랜드 로고마크의 특성에 관한 연구 - 유니섹스 캐주얼 브랜드를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristic of logomark in unisex casual apparel brand. For this study, first 36 unisex casual apparel brands were selected from the Dictionary of Fashion Brand, second analyzed the common word showing in them. Third, the logomark of the unisex casual apparel brand were classified into two types according to the typeface character of the logomark, there were serif typeface, sans-serif typeface. Fourth, analyzed the relationship between the typeface image of logomark and brand concept. The results of the study were following : First, the common word that used the most frequently in brand concept were investigated and the order of common word was reasonable, comfort or natural, practical, modern, traditional and basic. Second, The unisex casual apparel brand used the most frequently the sans-serif typeface that represents the images of simple, modern and active sense in the typeface of logomark. Third, the unisex apparel brands used the most frequently English as brand name among the various languages. Fourth, the unisex casual apparel brands were lanuched mostly except several of them after 1990.

Consumer Behavior on Brand Types according to Clothing Goods Level (의류상품 수준에 따른 브랜드 유형별 소비자 행동 연구)

  • This study examined consumer characteristics and consumers' clothing purchase behavior for each of the four fashion brand types. The ultimate purpose of this study is to suggest the most effective marketing strategy for competitive advantage in fashion brand strategy. The subjects selected for the final analysis are 412 women of age 20 thru 34 in Seoul and areas. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, factor analysis, chi-square test, ANOVA, duncan test. The results of our study indicate that it is possible to meaningfully describe and contrast four brand types based on consumer's characteristics and purchase behavior. 1. The clothing brand is classified into four types : Designer brand 10.9%, National brand 27.2%, Middle-price brand 36.2%, Low-price brand 25.7%. 2. There are significant diferences according to four brand types in the demographic traits such as age education and income the average monthly spending on clothing. 3. There are an important discrimination according to tow brand types in their clothing purchase behavior such as information usage, clothing choice criterion and brand choice motivation. 4. Based on the result of this analysis and the review of literature, the brand strategy is suggested that characteristic and products development is efficient way to each brand consumers' purchase need. Therefore each brand which pursue an added value must frame marketing strategy on the basis of the target consumers' sensitivity characteristic according to the fashion consciousness.

Advertising Effect of Advertising Channels and Image Congruence in fashion Brand : Fashion & Cosmetics of Bus Stop Shelter Advertisement (광고매체와 패션브랜드의 이미지 일치성에 따른 광고효과 연구: 버스승차대의 의류, 화장품 쉘터광고를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate advertisement effect of bus shelter, according to the congruency between advertising medium and the fashion brand image, and products. Four types of questionnaire are made through pretest. 273 female college students participated in the study. The results were as follows. First, high level of the congruency between advertising medium and the image of brands had effect on the advertisement effect. Second, there were not significant differences in the advertisement attitude and purchasing intention between clothing and cosmetics. However, clothing showed significant differences in the brand attitude than cosmetics did. Finally, interaction affects were not found in the congruency of image and product types. Based on these results, fashion advertisement strategies would be suggested.

  • Show window display is a technique of arranging goods for sales promotion, namely, motivating and inducing customers to purchase products. It is not simply exhibiting articles but a technical expression of values retained in exhibited articles and an integrated visual art comprehending color, lighting effect, the customers' angle of vision, differentiation from neighboring stores, harmony with properties, assistive roles of relevant goods, and entire messages provided by these elements. Show window display plays the role of a medium that expresses brand images and attracts consumers. Through the medium, the company's brand image is recognized and the recognition determines the trend of brand sales. Brand images planted to consumers seldom change, and wrong recognition affects not only the brand image but also the company image. The present study purposed to suggest show window display employing brand images different from traditional show window display, to examine the effects of brand images on consumers' intention to purchase, and to propose display design.

Clothing Purchase Behavior of Adolescents by the Consumer Awareness (청소년의 소비자 의식과 의복구매행동)

  • To investigate the consumer awareness and clothing purchase behavior of adolescents, questionnaire was administered to 639 middle and high school students in Daegu. The results were as follows. 1. The consumer awareness of adolescents was analyzed to 4 factors. consciousness of right. consumer information, brand-orientedness and responsibility. Respondents were clustered into three groups : utility-oriented group, brand-oriented group, and consumerism-oriented group. 2. Respondents bought their clothes at specialty stores primarily. They used ´products´, ´family's or friends advices´, and ´purchase experiences´ as information sources. The important criteria for selecting clothes were ´design´, ´price´, and ´suitability´ for oneself. Dissatisfactions after purchasing clothes were with ´price´, ´service´, ´sewing´, and ´size´. The complaining behaviors which respondents did mainly were ´telling friends about dissatisfaction with their purchased clothes´, ´asking for change dissatisfying products or asking for refund´ and ´asking for mending´. 3. Information sources were categorized into 3 factors: ´neutral information source´, ´personal information source´ and ´commercial information source´. Criteria for selecting clothes were factor-analyzed into ´harmony´, ´fashion´ and ´management of clothes´. ´The factors of dissatisfactions with purchased clothes were ´appearance´, ´quality´ and ´service´. 4. The differences by the consumer awareness in clothing purchase behaviors among consumer groups : In information sources. criteria for selecting clothes, complaining behaviors. purchasing places. three consumer groups were different significantly.

  • Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles Vol. 19, No. 6 (1995) p. 895~910 The purpose of study was to estimate the consistency between brand image and shopping bag image, and also to find out the important factors which constructed the brand image. This study was conducted by means of a questionnaire survey of female students of moi or universities in Seoul. Frequency, percentage, mean, factor analysis, 1-test, ANOVA, Fisher's LSD, Coster analysis, MDS are used for data analysis. The result are as follows: 1) Brand image was devised into three factors: personality/modernity, nobility and usability. 2) The rate of consistency of brand image and shopping bag image was high in the brands of Benetton, System, Cresson, Be-art, Tomboy, Guess, Esprit, Anacapri, Mercoledi, Youngwoo in descending order. 3) The most important factor which represent the brand image was the choice of color. 4) This study found that shopping bags can be advertising media because they think that shopping bags played an important role as a walking advertising media on the street.

CRM Marketing of Shopmasters in Designer Brand Products (디자이너 브랜드 샵마스터의 CRM에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate influential factors for shopmaster's CRM (Customer Relationship Management) in the designer brand products, and to indicate the future fashion marketing strategies. The questionnaires were distributed to 74 shopmasters of the Designer shop in domestic L. S and H Department stores. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and path analysis from Lisrel program were used to analyze the data. The results were as follows; Firstly. for shopmaster's CRM variables, four factors of customer management variables were found and labeled as interest, DB construction, contact opportunity, and materials. Also, four (actors of shopmaster's knowledge regarding apparel materials were found and labeled as professionalism, manner, sense, and persuasion. For service variables, four factors such as precision, variety, rapidity, positiveness, and convenience of shopping were found. Secondly, for the results of hypothesis, all of the independent variables had direct influences on forming the relationship with customers. Therefore, it is concluded that the main elements of Shopmaster's CRM are highly important variables in customer relationship marketing strategy.

An Analysis of the Sizing System of Silver Apparel Brands as Compared with the KS Standards (실버의류브랜드 치수체계와 KS 규격간의 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to comparison on the sizing system in silver apparel brands with the KS standards. For the comparison research, 3 women's wear brands(suit style, knitted suit style, casual style) which were different apparel style on occasion in madame-zone of department stores were selected. The subject of investigation of sizing system of these brands were the label. The results of the sizing system of silver apparel brands as compared with the KS standards were as follows: 1) For the upper wear of suit style, it is larger than KS standards that size of height is $5{\sim}15$ cm. 2) For the lower wear of suit style, suitability of size of hip circumference is lower than KS standards. 3) For the casual style, it is larger than KS standards that size of height is $10{\sim}20$ cm.

  • As Korea fully entered the fashion industry in the early 1980s, the casual lifestyle trend has led the casual trend of fashion, and segmentation and specialization of the casual wear market began from the early 1990s. As of 2003, which is twelfth year after On & On's launch in 1992, this brand has succeeded in advancing into the Chinese market and has also arisen as a successful brand in the domestic market. The present research was carried out by consulting on the proposal of the marketing strategies for On & On. Firstly, in 1994 the marketing research for the consumers visiting the shop was carried out. A second investigation was conducted on the basis of the first analysis in 2003, ten after the first investigation. This research was performed to propose the future marketing strategies for On & On through an analysis of the changes of On & On consumer's purchase. This research established marketing strategies for the young casual brand.

Perceptions of Visual Merchandising in the Department Stores: The Employee versus Consumer Perspectives (백화점 브랜드매장의 비주얼 머천다이징 평가: 판매원 대 소비자 관점)

  • This study examined and compared the two perspectives of consumers and employees on the perceptions toward visual merchandising (VMD) of fashion brands in a department store. Importance of VMD elements, roles of VMD, evaluations of VMD elements, and brand and store images were measured and compared. The two types of questionnaires were used to collect data from consumers and employees. A total of 327 consumer samples and 317 employee samples were analyzed. The results showed that there was no difference between the two groups in what VMD elements were the most important. While employees perceived of the role of VMD higher than consumers, consumers evaluated two VMD element factors higher than employees and showed higher store image. Such results were not different by brand types. The study implies that the higher VMD perceptions of consumers are desirable to manage VMD from the employees' perspective.
