A Study of Cognitive Beliefs and Consumption Feelings As Predictors of Well-known Brand Apparel Purchasing Intention (유명브랜드 의류에 대한 인지적 신념과 소비감정이 구매 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study were 1) to examine underlying dimensions of two aspects of attitudes - cognitive beliefs and consumption feelings of well-known name brand apparel and 2) to examine predictiveness of those two variables in predicting buying intentions of well-known name brand apparel. The data were collected through questionnaire from convenient samples of 207 female college students. Statistical analysis of factor analysis, t-test and multiple regression analysis were performed in analysing the data. The major findings were as fellows: 1. The dimensions of evaluation criteria of well-known name brand apparel were design/brand name, clothing construction, and practicality. 2. The dimensions of consumption feelings were pleasure/confidence, active and regret. 3. In predicting buying intension of name brand apparel, consumption feelings fecund to be as more robust predictors than cognitive variables.

  • The purpose of the study is to test and analyze differences in consumers' satisfaction and influences of competitiveness of goods on consumers' purchase decision by demographic characteristics and by channel distribution. The hypotheses have been tested through T-test and ANOVA with one-way and two-way using SPSS Win Ver. 12.0. The distribution channels are classfied with five ones such as company direct operation shop, agent licensed shop, department store, internet home shopping and outlet goods shop. This study can indirectly suggest a local clothing brand industry countermeasures for raising competitiveness and changing consumer preferences in the open domestic market.

  • '95년 하반기부터 시작된 경제위기를 맞이하면서 의류시장의 외형적 규모와 소비자들의 소비심리가 크게 위축되자, 국내 미시존 여성복 브랜드에서는 단품의 강화와 트랜드를 반영한 캐릭터성 보완의 두 가지 측면으로 시장구도를 형성하며 의류시장의 위기를 모면하려 노력한다. 그러나 IMF 이후, 베이직 상품의 판매비중이 늘어나게 되자 정장에 트랜드를 반영하기보다는 단품에 트랜드를 반영하려는 현상이 나타나게 되고, 대다수의 브랜드들이 기획비중을 줄이고 보완반응의 비중을 늘리면서 인기 브랜드의 인기 아이템에 대한 디자인 카피가 늘어나게 되면서, 브랜드의 차별화가 없어지는 공동화 현상이 심각하게 대두되게 되었다.   • 본 연구는 의류점포의 고객과 숍 매니저 사이의 관계를 보다 포괄적인 관점에서 심층적으로 이해함으로써 대 고객 관계마케팅에서의 우위를 점하기 위한 전략도출에 기여하고자 하는 목적에서 이루어졌다. 이를 위해 백화점에 입점해 있는 디자이너 브랜드와 캐릭터 브랜드 의류점포 각 4곳의 고객 9명과 숍 매니저 8명에 대한 문화기술적 면접과 이들 점포에 대한 참여 관찰을 통한 질적 연구가 2000년 5월부터 8월말까지 행해졌다. 연구 결과에 대한 내용분석에 따르면 브랜드군 간에는 관련변인이나 관계 형성 과정 등 장기적 관계 형성 메커니즘에 차이가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또 관계에 대한 관점에 따라 추구이점이 다름으로써 관계에 대한 관여 수준, 관계의 질, 관계지속기 간, 신뢰에 대한 관점에 차이가 발생하는 것으로 나타났는데 관계에의 관점과 추구이점의 차이는 가격의 차이에서 연유하는 것으로 보인다. 따라서 제품수준에 따라서 상이 한 접근방법이 요구된다. 한편 패션상품의 특성으로 하여 의류의 경우에는 고정고객 유지 뿐 아니라 신규고객 창출이 중요하기 때문에 기존의 관계 마케팅과는 다른 접근방법이 요구된다.

The Brand Image of Apparel: A Qualitative Approach (의류 브랜드 이미지에 관한 질적 연구)

  • Two components of brand image are brand association related to brand properties and brand persona which is measured by descriptive words. The purpose of this study is to analyze the brand image of apparel by qualitative approach including natural grouping method suggested by Aaker. For this, face-to-face interviews were carried out in March and April 200l.11 interviewees were respectively asked to classify' pre-selected several tens of apparel brands based on their image differentiation, and then to explain the reason of grouping and to describe resultant brand groups. In this process, many brand image associations and brand persona-descriptive words were collected. 9 types of brand association were identified, and these were summarized as three factors suggested by Keller -attributes, benefits, and attitudes/evaluations. And 3 words which used to refer brand image frequently -dokteukhan (unique), simple, and yeosungseureowoon (feminine)- were interpreted in their meaning. Brand persona-descriptive words implied diverse meaning which were dependent on context.

Customer-Brand Relationship Quality and Relationship Strength (서비스 브랜드경험이 소비자-브랜드 관계의 질 및 관계강도에 미치는 영향)

  • This research tries to examine the effect of brand experience in service marketing perspective for generalized application. The analysis was held with customers who recently visited in retail stores by using SPSS18K and Smart PLS 2.0. The study verified the structural equation model hypothesizing the relationship among brand experience, relationship quality, and relationship strength. According to the result of this study, four brand experience factors have positive effect on the relationship quality. In detail, the effect of sensory experience was strongest. Furthermore, the effect of relationship quality on relationship strength also significant as prior researches addressed. The research has several marketing implication on brand experience management and customer relationship management. For service firms, customers' perception of positive brand experience can generate the tangible and intangible performance in the relationship marketing perspectives.

The Effect of Clothing Brand Experience on Consumer-Brand Relationship and Brand Loyalty (의류브랜드의 체험이 소비자-브랜드 관계와 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to identify not only dimensions of clothing brand experience, but dimensions of perceived consumer-brand relationship. In addition, this study investigated the relationships among clothing brand experience, consumer-brand relationship and brand loyalty. 354 questionnaires were distributed to female and male respondents aged 20 to 30, and then analyed by SPSS and AMOS program. The results were as follows. First, it was identified that the dimension of clothing brand experience was composed of two dimensions; individual experience(personal dimension) and relational experience(social cultural dimension). Second, the type of consumer-brand relationship was found out as three dimensions; interdependence, love and passion, and partner. Third, these results showed that individual and relational experience of clothing brand was the most influential factor for love and passion dimension of consumer-brand relationship. Forth, love and passion dimension through clothing brand experience was the most influential factor for brand loyalty. Above results imply that the key of strong brand relationship lies in the emotion of love such as human relationship.

Image of a Region's Co-brand: The Case of'CHIMERIC' (지역공동브랜드에 대한 이미지: 대구시 공동브랜드 '쉬메릭'을 중심으로)

  • This study was interested in examining the image of a co-brand with the case of'CHIMERIC', the co-brand of Daegu city in Korea. The purpose of the study was to investigate the difference in brand image by brand knowledge and the effects of brand image on brand preference, brand purchase, and brand satisfaction. A total of 354 questionnaires collected from the region(Daegu)'s residents, who were aware of CHIMERIC, were analyzed. Factor analysis extracted 6 factors of brand image including symbolic image, product, ad, price, distribution, and publicity. The results revealed that there were differences in product and publicity images by brand knowledge. Symbolic and publicity images and brand knowledge affected brand preference, which in turn had the strongest effect on brand purchase. Brand knowledge also affected brand purchase while no direct effect of brand image was observed. Brand satisfaction was affected by brand preference, publicity, and ad image.

Casual Hanbok Brand Online Communication -Congruency between Intended and Perceived Images- (캐주얼 한복 브랜드의 온라인 커뮤니케이션 -의도된 이미지와 지각된 이미지의 일치성-)

  • This study investigates whether the image of the casual Hanbok brand is being communicated to consumers successfully. We conducted a semantic network analysis to identify ways of revitalizing communication between casual Hanbok brands and consumers; in addition, we quantitatively evaluated the effectiveness of communication marketing through Quadratic Assignment Procedure (QAP) analysis. Unstructured data from 2014-2021 were collected through portal sites and then refined and networked. Our analysis showed that casual Hanbok brands generally target younger people and that different brands employ similar methods to promote and popularize the casual Hanbok style. Consumers tended to recognize and show interest in casual Hanbok, suggesting the potential to expand the market to Blue Ocean. However, some of our findings revealed the potential factors of style coordination risk and prejudice against existing Hanbok, which could potentially hinder casual Hanbok's uptake and adoption. We conclude that increasing the demand for casual Hanbok depends not only on delivering an accurate brand image to consumers but also on balancing fashion with traditional images when planning products and providing styling information.
