  • The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect from acceptance of the latest 4th Industrial Revolution technologies on the relationships between interest in the latest technologies, resistance to the latest technologies, and anxiety in workers at welfare institutions for the disabled. In order to achieve this goal, data were collected from July to August 2018 from workers at disability welfare centers in P Metropolitan City, and we analyzed data from 187 persons. Multiple regression analysis was applied to test the causal relationships between variables; the step-by-step analysis model of Baron and Kenny (1986) was used to verify mediating effects, and the Sobel test was performed to verify their significance. The analyses verified that the degree of interest in the latest technologies affects the degree of resistance to, and anxiety over, the latest technologies through acceptance of the latest technologies. At the same time, we verified that the degree of interest had a complete mediation effect because it did not directly affect the acceptance. In addition, the Sobel test result showed that the mediating effect was statistically significant. In other words, it was found that the degree of interest in the latest 4th Industrial Revolution technologies from workers at welfare institutions for the disabled increases the possibility of adaptation to future society by lowering resistance and anxiety through acceptance of the latest technologies. Based on these results, a plan to reduce resistance to, and anxiety over, the latest technologies was sought, and related measures to increase interest in the latest technologies and their acceptance are suggested.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose interventions on emotional labor and health issues through verifying the mediating effects of depression and anxiety on the relationship between emotional labor and somatic symptoms in medical workers. For this study, a sample of 200 medical workers completed the questionnaires of the Korean Emotional Labor Scale, the Patient Health Questionnaire-15, the Patient Health Questionnaire-9, and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7. The data was analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. Results showed a risk of emotional labor, depression, and somatic symptoms in medical workers. 2. The risk group of the emotional labor's 4 factors (excluding organizational support and protection system) had a significantly higher level of depression compared with the normal group. Particularly in emotional dissonance and impairment, depression in the risk group was moderate, while depression in the normal group was normal. 3. Only emotional dissonance and impairment had a significant influence on somatic symptoms. Reflecting the results, the mediating effects of depression and anxiety on the relationship between emotional dissonance and impairment and somatic symptoms were verified. Results showed that depression had a partial mediating effect, whereas anxiety did not have a mediating effect. Finally, we discuss the necessity of dealing with emotional dissonance and depression in emotional labor and health issues.

Social anxiety showed a significant negative correlation with school life adaptation(r=-.50, p<.01), academic self-efficacy had a positive correlation with school life adaptation(r=.63, p<.01), and social anxiety had a negative correlation with academic self-efficacy(r=-.51, p<.01). Second, as a result of verifying the mediating effects of social anxiety and academic self-efficacy, academic self-efficacy has mediating effects on the relationship between covert narcissism and school life adaptation(${\beta}=.41$, p<.001), and social anxiety has no mediating effect on school life adaptation(${\beta}=-.05$, p<.001). The results of this study suggest that If adolescents with covert narcissism have difficulties in adapting to school life, increasing academic self-efficacy, especially self-control efficacy and self-confidence, may be helpful to improve adolescents' adaptation to school life.

  • Objectives : In this study, we evaluate psychological stress, symptoms of anxiety and depressed mood and resilience which medical residents and interns perceived during COVID-19 event, then investigate the associations between stress and the symptoms and mediating effect of resilience on the associations. Methods : In this study, we made a self-reporting form to evaluate psychological stress with perceived stress scale (PSS), symptoms of anxiety and depressed mood with Hospital anxiety and depression scale (HAD), and resilience with Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). Medical residents and interns, who worked in a hospital during COVID-19 event, filled the self-reporting forms from july, 2020 to august, 2020. We conducted a Pearson correlation coefficient and a multiple regression to confirm association between psychological stress and symptoms of anxiety and depressed mood, then mediating effect of resilience. Results : The higher stress perceived, the more symptoms of anxiety and depressed mood were reported by medical residents and interns. The higher resilience is associated with lower stress and less symptoms of anxiety and depressed mood, which resilience is proven to mediate partially the association between stress and symptoms of depressed mood. Conclusions : This study shows that resilience has a partial mediating effects on the association between stress and psychological pathology especially depressed mood, given that medical residents and interns were under psychological distress during COVID-19 event. This suggests that resilience is the key for medical trainees to overcome the future crisis like COVID-19 event.
