Study on Reaction Rate of the Non-Explosive Demolition Agent (비폭성 파쇄재의 반응률 특성에 관한 연구)

  • 팽창재와 같은 비촉성 파쇄재는 화약발파와 비교하여 볼 때 진동을 유발하지 않는다는 면에서 인접한 구조물에 영향을 주지 않고 암반을 파괴할 수 있는 장점을 갖고 있다. 비폭성 파괴방법으로 유압식 암석분할기도 팽창재와 유사한 적용성을 갖고 있으나 힘을 작용시킬수 있는 천공깊이에 제약을 갖고 있으며 규모가 큰 암반의 파괴 방법으로는 적용한계가 있다. 반면에 팽창재는 천공깊이에 큰 제약을 받지 않으며 천공수에 제한을 받지 않는다는 장점이 있다. 그러나 팽창재의 현장적용시 가장 큰 단점의 하나로 지적되고 있는 것은 파괴력을 나타내기까지의 시간이 오래 걸림으로 작업능률에 문제가 있다는 것이다. 반응시간은 물과 팽창재와의 반응률과 밀접한 관계를 갖고 있으며 본 논문에서는 팽창재의 적용성을 높이기 위하여 실시한 여러 조건하에서 팽창재 반응률 특성에 관한 연구내용을 기술한다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1)팽창재의 반응은 주위온도에 큰 영향을 받는다. 2) 팽창재의 성능을 충분히 발휘하기 위하여는 주위 온도 조건에 따라 천공직경을 적절히 조절하는 것이 필요하다. 3) 낮은 주위 온도 조건에서 팽창재의 반응은 압력이 증가하는 시간이 느리고 따라서 최대 팽창압이 높은 온도 조건에 비해서 낮게 나타난다. 4)팽창압이 증가하는 시간은 팽창재와 물과의 반응률에 좌우된다.

  • A reliable detection of regions in radiography is one of the most important task before the evaluation of defects on welded joints. The extracted features is to be classified into distinctive clusters for each segmented region. But conventional segmentation techniques give unsatisfactory results for this task due to the spatial superposition of intensity and low signal-to-ratio(SNR) in radiographic images. The usage of global or local processes not only provide the necessary noise resistance but also fail in classification of regions. In this paper, we presents an appropriate approach for segmentation of region-based indications in industrial Computed Radiography(CR) images. The geometric differences between welded and non-welded area which is generated on radiography as the representative regions(background, thickness, middle and welded region in steel tube image) have constructed the hierarchical structure. Although this structure is contaminated by noise, the scheme between regions can be selected by the help of local clustering based on distinctive geometric property of each region. Because of the geometric nature of the considered region and so that the region is selected layer by layer, and that the real class represents the boundary between regions, the vertical and horizontal clustering process in each layer must be judicious. In order to show the effectiveness of this approach, a comparative experiment of various segmentation method is performed on industrial steel tube CR images.

  • 나노필라멘트는 단면직경이 수백 나노미터에서 수십 나노미터 수준인 초극세 장섬유를 말하며, 해도형 복합방사로 얻어진 섬유를 알칼리 감량을 통해 해성분을 용출하여 도성분에 해당하는 나노필라멘트를 얻는다. 이러한 나노필라멘트사는 초극세와 마찬가지로 단위중량당 표면적이 크고, 작은 굴곡반경 및 낮은 굴곡 반발성으로 인하여 일반 합성섬유에 비하여 고가성 및 새로운 기능성을 부여하는 제품에 응용 될 수 있다. 특히 나노필라멘트를 이용한 편물제품으로 경편물은 wiping cloth 등 산업용도에 적용되며, 환편물은 인조피혁 등 의류용으로 사용된다. 나노필라멘트 편물은 원사섬도, 편물의 조직, 밀도 및 중량 등에 따라 분할율과 용출 특성이 상이하므로 후가공 공정에 있어서 감량공정은 매우 중요하다. 또한 나노필라멘트와 같은 세사의 경우 일반사보다 비표면적이 증가하여 동일한 염색조건에서 옅은 색상을 나타낸다. 이로 인해 같은 색상을 위하여 보다 많은 염료를 투입해야 하며, 결과적으로 견뢰도 문제가 발생할 우려가 있다. 이 연구에서는 해도형 나노필라멘트 PET 원사와 일반 PET사를 복합한 2종의 편물을 이용하여 알칼리감량특성 및 3가지 분산염료에 대한 염색성과 견뢰도를 조사하였다. 알칼리 처리조건에 따른 감량률을 측정함으로써 각 편물의 이론 감량률에 도달하는 지점을 확인하고, SEM사진 분석을 통하여 해도사의 감량정도 및 분할특성을 확인하였다. 나노필라멘트 편성물은 염료농도가 증가함에 따라 지속적으로 K/S 값이 증가하였으나, 전체적으로 낮은 K/S값을 얻었다. 또한 염색온도가 110에서 $100^{\circ}C$로 증가함에 따라 K/S값이 감소하였는데, 이는 고온에서 분산염료가 나노필라멘트로부터 일반 PET사로 이염이 더 많이 발생하였기 때문이라고 생각된다. 세탁견뢰도의 경우 양호 또는 우수하였으나, 일광견뢰도의 경우 1등급으로 매우 낮아 이를 개선하기 위한 노력이 향후 진행되어야 할 것이다.

  • 소 난포란의 체외성숙율과 체외수정후 분할율을 향상시키기 위하여 성숙배양액에 FCS 첨가 효과를 조사하였으며 FCS의 첨가수준은 5-20%였고 사용된 기본배양액은 Dn(-BSA), Ham's F10 및 TCM199이었다. 난포직경 2-6mm 난포로부터 채란된 수정란을 39$^{\circ}C$ 배양기에서 28시간 성숙시킨후 동결융해정자 또는 비동결정자로 체외수정시켰다. FCS 무첨가구보다는 첨가구 성숙유리 향상되었으나 FCS 첨가의DM(-BSA)와 Ham's F10간에, 그리고 FCS첨가수준간에는 성숙율의 차이가 없었다. FCS의 첨가로 성숙율은 향상되었으나 난할율에는 영향이 없었다. 체외수정 난포란의 난할율이 HIS 처리후 6시간 전배양한 동결정자와의 수정에서는 현저히 낮았으나 2시간 전배양과 정자에 의해서는 향상되었고 비동결정자이용시 더욱 향상되었다. FCS 첨가된 Ham's F10과 TCM199에서 성숙시킨 난자의 난할율이 DM(-BSA)+FCS보다 높았다. 본 연구 결과에서 난포란의 체외성숙이 FCS첨가로 개선되었으나 난할율에는 영향이 없었으며 난할율이 정자처리방법에 따라 차이가 많았고 Ham's F10과 TCM199에 FCS의 첨가가 보다 효과적이었다.

The Effect of Ginkgo Biloba Extract on the Fractionsted Radiation Therapy in C3H Mouse Fibrosarcoma (Ginkgo Biloba Extract가 C3H 마우스 섬유육종의 분할 방사선치료에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose : A ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) has been known as a hypoxic cell radiosensitizer. Its mechanisms of action are increase of the red blood cell deformability, decrease the blood viscosity, and decrease the hypoxic cell fraction in the tumor. The aims of this study were to estimate the effect of GBE on fractionated radiotherapy and to clarify the mechanism of action of the GBE by estimating the blood flow in tumor and normal muscle. Materials and Methods : Fibrosarcoma (FSall) growing in a C3H mouse leg muscle was used as the tumor model. When the tumor size reached 7 mm in diameter, the GBE was given intraperitoneally at 1 and 25 hours prior to irradiation. The tumor growth delay was measured according to the various doses of radiation (3, 6, 9, 12 Gy and 15 Gy) and to the fractionation (single and fractionated irradiation) with and without the GBE injection. The radiation dose to the tumor the response relationships and the enhancement ratio of the GBE were measured. In addition, the blood flow of a normal muscle and a tumor was compared by laser Doppler flowmetry according to the GBE treatment. Results : When the GBE was used with single fraction irradiation with doses ranging from 3 to 12 Gy, GBE increased the tumor growth delay significantly (p<0.05) and the enhancement ratio of the GBE was 1.16. In fractionated irradiation with 3 Gy per day, the relationships between the radiation dose (D) and the tumor growth delay (TGD) were TGD $(days)=0.26{\times}D$ (Gy)+0.13 in the radiation alone group, and the TGD $(days)=0.30{\times}D$ (Gy)+0.13 in the radiation with GBE group. As a result, the enhancement ratio was 1.19 ($95\%$ confidence interval; $1.13\~1.27$). Laser Doppler flowmetry was used to measure the blood flow. The mean blood flow was higher in the muscle (7.78 mL/100 g/min in tumor and the 10.15 mL/100 g/min in muscle, p=0.005) and the low blood flow fraction (less than 2 mL/100 g/min) was higher in the tumor $(0.5\%\;vs.\;5.2\%,\;p=0.005)$. The blood flow was not changed with the GBE in normal muscle, but was increased by $23.5\%$ ( p=0.0004) in the tumor. Conclusion : Based on these results, it can be concluded that the GBE enhanced the radiation effect significantly when used with fractionated radiotherapy as well as with single fraction irradiation. Furthermore, the GBE increased the blood flow of the tumor selectively.

The Dose Characteristics of Designed Ir-192 Micro-source for Brachytherapy (근접조사용 Ir-192 마이크로선원의 디자인과 선량 특성)

  • The dose distributions of designed Ir-192 micro-source were investigated by dose computations which were accomplished by employing shape of encapsule material and thickness of the source for self-absorption. The computation dose derived from air-kerma rate (S$_{k}$ ) and dose rate constant (Λ) includes the anisotropy of dose distribution around the source. We got the dose rate constants in a water medium is 1.154 cGy h$^{-1}$ U$^{-1}$ . The size of the source was 0.5 mm in diameter and 3.5 mm in length and it was encapsuled in 1.1 mm$\Phi$${\times}$5.5 mm of stainless steel sealed with 0.3 mm of filter thickness. The tissue dose of reference point at 1.0 cm radial distance of the source axis was delivered 1.154 Uh$^{-1}$ (1.3167${\times}$10$^{-3}$ cGy/mCi-sec) from the S$_{k}$ 4.108U/mCi of Ir-192 source. The filtration effect contributed to air-kerma strength as exponential filtering effect of 86.2% in total attenuation, but self-absorption was 88.4% from radial dose distributions. In particular, the dose attenuations showed a rapid anisotropic distributions as 56% of reference dose along to $\pm$10 degrees from the tip of source axis and 50% for of that to source-cable direction. We persist in use the large diameter of applicator will avoid the dose anisotropy by the filtered attenuation effects along the axis of Ir-192 micro-source.

Fractionated Stereotactic Radiation Therapy for Intracranial Benign Tumor : Preliminary Results of Clinical Application (양성 뇌종양의 분할정위 방사선치료 : 임상적 응용의 예비적 결과)

  • Purpose : With the development of stereotactic immobilization systems capable of reliable serial repositioning, fractionated stereotactic radiation therapy (FSRT) offers the Potential for an improved treatment outcome by excellent dose delivery, and dose distribution characteristics with the favorable radiobiological properties of fractionated irradiation. We describe our initial experience using FSRT for the treatment of intracranial benign tumor. Materials and Methods : Between August 1995 and December 1996. 15 patients(7 males and 8 females aged 6-70 years) were treated with FSRT. The patients had the following diagnosis pituitary adenoma(10) including one patient who previously had received radiotherapy, craniopharyngioma (2), acoustic neurinoma (1), meningioma (2). Using the Gill-Thomas-Cosman relocatable head frame and multiple non-coplanar therapy, the daily dose of 2Gy was irradiated at 90% to 100% isodose surface of the isocenter The collimator sizes ranged from 26mm to 70mm. Results : In all patients except one follow-up lost, disease was well-controlled. Acute complication was negligible and no patient experienced cranial nerve neuropathies and radiation necrosis. In overall patient setup with scalp measurements, reproducibility was found to have mean of $1.1{\pm}0.6mm$ from the baseline reading. Conclusion : Relocatable stereotactic system for FSRT is highly reproducible and comfortable. Although the follow-up period was relatively short. FSRT is considered to be a safe and effective radiation technique as the treatment of intracranial tumor. But the fractionation schedule(fraction size, overall treatment time and total dose) still remains to be solved by further clinical trials.

  • A new calibration method for five-hole pressure probe is presented. This method provides accuracies better than those based on the traditional regression method. The calibration algorithm uses a single sector interpolation response surface calculated by comparing the regression curve fits with the actual calibration data. A five-hole pressure probe with hemispherical tip was fabricated and calibrated at Reynolds number of $4.11{\times}10^6$/m and flow angle of ${\pm}48$ degrees. Two data prediction models, the least-square regression and a single sector error interpolation, were evaluated. The comparison of these two calibration methods to a five-hole probe is described and discussed. An evaluation of the calibration accuracy is also given.

  • Site-index curves for Pinus densiflora Sieb. et Zucc. grown in the middle part of Korea were developed from stem analysis data by a procedure of guide curve equation $Yt=K-ab^t$ (t=0, 1, 2, ${\cdots}{\cdots}$) and shown in Fig. 2. The stand density expressed as size-number criteria was calculated and the relation of number of tree per hectare and average DBH was presented in Fig. 3, in which soil fertility showed little effect. When this is compared to Reineke's density standards, the Pinus densiflora stand ranks high level of stocking density (Fig. 5). As a measure for estimating timber volume, the angle-summation technique revealed to result wider variation. Constructing hypothetical populations for appraising angle-summation technique, the significance of its application in silvicultural and ecological research are discussed.

  • Voxel head phantom for overcoming the limitation of mathematical phantom in depleting anatomical details was constructed and example dose calculation for BNCT was performed. The repeated structure algorithm of the general purpose Monte Carlo code, MCNP4B was applied for yokel Monte Carlo calculation. Simple binary yokel phantom and combinatorial geometry phantom composed of two materials were constructed for validating the voxel Monte Carlo calculation system. The tomographic images of VHP man provided by NLM(National Library of Medicine) were segmented and indexed to construct yokel head phantom. Comparison of doses for broad parallel gamma and neutron beams in AP and PA directions showed decrease of brain dose due to the attenuation of neutron in eye balls in case of yokel head phantom. The spherical tumor volume with diameter, 5cm was defined in the center of brain for BNCT dose calculation in which accurate 3 dimensional dose calculation is essential. As a result of BNCT dose calculation for downward neutron beam of 10keV and 40keV, the tumor dose is about doubled when boron concentration ratio between the tumor to the normal tissue is $30{\mu}g/g$ to $3{\mu}g/g$. This study established the voxel Monte Carlo calculation system and suggested the feasibility of precise dose calculation in therapeutic radiology.
