In this paper, we proposed a distributed gateway for ubiquitous healthcare system. We also designed and implemented protocol conversion and processing algorithms to exchange a seamless information, the bio signals between the databases and the receiving devices from ZigBee to gateway and from the gateway to database and network. The distributed gateway system consists of the bio signal acquisition, ZigBee modules, distributed databases, and gateways. The bio signals detected by the ZigBee module are sent to the gateway. The distributed gateway analyzes the data being transferred, sends those to the receiving devices, and lets the authorized personnel access. The proposed system can be utilized in various fields including activity analysis for the elderly, security systems, home network service, and so on.
SiC nanoparticles were used to increase flexural properties of polymer matrix. This study was to manufacture huge concentration SiC nanoparticle/epoxy composites and to evaluate the dispersion. During mixing SiC nanoparticle and epoxy, 20 wt% SiC nanoparticle in total composites was used with both stirrer and sonication equipment together. Mixing speed and dispersion were improved with the method by using both stirrer and sonication equipment at the same time via mechanical test and FE-SEM. Based on the results, modeling of SiC nanoparticle dispersion could be established. Ultimately, unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced composites was manufactured using 20 wt% SiC nanoparticle/epoxy. Mechanical property of CFRP using dual stirrer and sonication mixing method was better than composites by single sonication mixing method.
Modern warfare, which adopt an intensive technique of applied sciences, is difficult to predict, and has a high complexity. Thus, it is necessary to build a battle-field environment and simulation-based analysis. Various organizations are participated to build battlefield model for defense M&S according to a scale and format. On the basis of this trend, approaching from various systems is needed to reconfigure battlefield modeling for distributed system. This paper proposes building design for battlefield simulation environment with a sample of one-to-one single unit engagement model. The proposed method can expect to utilize an example of distributed environment for various participants that are involved in battlefield modeling and simulation.

Malicious bot programs, the source of distributed denial of service attack, are widespread and the number of PCs which were infected by malicious bot program are increasing geometrically thesedays. The continuous distributed denial of service attacks are happened constantly through these bot PCs and some financial incident cases have found lately. Therefore researches to response distributed denial of service attack are necessary so we propose an effective feature generation method for distributed denial of service attack detection using entropy. In this paper, we apply our method to both the DARPA 2000 datasets and also the distributed denial of service attack datasets that we composed and generated ourself in general university. And then we evaluate how the proposed method is useful through classification using bayesian network classifier.
We present a new distributed genetic algorithm that can be used to extract useful information from distributed, large data over the network. The main idea of the proposed algorithms is to determine how many and which individuals move between subpopulations at each site adaptively. In addition, we present a method to help individuals from other subpopulations not be weeded out but adapt to the new subpopulation. We used six data sets from UCI Machine Learning Repository to compare the performance of our approach with that of the single, centralized genetic algorithm. As a result, the proposed algorithm produced better performance than the single genetic algorithm in terms of the classification accuracy with the feature subsets.
In cellular femto systems, femto Base stations(f-BSs) can be installed unnecessarily and overcrowded in small areas. This will cause an interference problem and it can impact on the capacity, blocking probability, and coverage of femtocells in the shared channel systems. In this paper, we propose a load distribution scheme by using forced handover and probabilistic subchannel scheduling policy to resolve the problem. The proposed scheme operates in distributed manner though communication with neighboring f-BSs, and includes self-detection of overcrowded area and radio resource management based on measurements. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme in terms of average cell throughput and average throughput per users.

In this paper, a new overload control scheme is proposed for a stored program control system. The proposed control scheme is fit for a distributed architecture. In a distributed architecture, most of the call control functions are distributed to many subscriber control processors(SP) and some functions as number translation and routing control are centralized to central processors(CP). Therefore the performance of the CP is critical to the switching system. We needed a control scheme that ensures the proper operation of the CP in overload condition. We conducted lots of simulation experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed overload control scheme and concluded that the proposed overload control scheme is very effective for a distributed architecture.
For an efficient role based access control in highly distributed computing environment to reduce management cost, we utilize attribute certificates. Especially highly distributed computing environments such as ubiquitous computing environments which cannot have global or broad control, need another attribute certificate management technique. The techniques for transmission of the attribute certificates and management of the group keys should be considered to reduce management cost. For better performance we structure attribute certificates. We group roles and make the role group relation tree. It results secure and efficient role renewing and distribution. For scalable attribute certificate distribution, multicasting packets are used. We take into account the packet loss and quantifying performance enhancements of structuring attribute certificates.
