  • MMORPG is a role-playing game that tens of thousands of people access it online at the same time. Users connect to the server through the game client and play with their own characters. If the user moves to a management area of another server beyond the area managed by the server, the user information must be transmitted to the server to be moved. In an actual game, the user is required to synchronize the established and the transferred information. In this paper, we propose a migration agent server in the virtual systems. We implement a seamless virtual server using the grid method to experiment with seamless server architecture for virtual systems. We propose a method to minimize the delay and equalize the load when the user moves to another server region in the virtual environment. Migration Agent acts as a cache server to reduce response time, the response time was reduced by 50% in the case of 70,000 people.

  • 최근 그린에너지 시대의 급작스런 도래와 더불어 전력산업의 패러다임 변화에 따라 전기에너지의 고효율 사용과 지능형 전력망 기술인 스마트그리드가 국가차원의 저탄소 녹색성장의 중추 산업분야가 될 전망이다. 이와 더불어 그린홈, 그린빌딩, 그린ICT, 신재생에너지 및 전기자동차를 망라하는 고효율 에너지 네트워크 인프라로 직류배전이 부각되고 있다. 최근 태양광, 연료전지 등 직류 기반의 분산전원 보급의 활성화, 정보화 확산으로 인해 직류를 필요로 하는 정보통신기기의 대폭확대, 전기자동차 보급에 따른 전력저장장치의 확산, LED와 같은 조명부하의 확대 등 변화된 환경 속에 전체 시스템 에너지 효율화, 전력품질의 개선을 위해 교류(AC)가 아닌 직류(DC)로 공급하는 직류배전의 도입 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본고에서는 미래 직류전력시스템의 예측 및 당사가 2009년 말 그린홈에 직류배전을 구축한 실증사례를 소개하고 현재 조기 상용화를 목표로 기술개발을 진행 중인 그린빌딩 적용을 위한 저압 직류배전기술의 개념 및 구현기술을 제안하고자 한다.

  • Jini는 네트워크를 통해 사람이나, 기기, 프로그램이 특정 자원을 찾거나 사용하고자 할 때, 관리자의 개입 없이 유연하게 동작하게 하는 분산 미들웨어의 하나이다. 기존의 Jini 서비스는 Lookup Service 데몬(Httpd, Reggie. Rmid)이 실행되어 Discovery, Join, Lookup, Service Invocation의 과정을 통해 이루어지는데, 데몬 fault 발생 시 어떠한 해결점이 없다는 것이 문제점이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 Jini 서비스 데몬 손실로 인한 Jini 서비스의 Fault 문제를 해결하기 위해 Grid환경 하에서 그리드 서비스를 사용하여 Jini 서비스에 Fault Tolerance를 제공하는 시스템의 구조와 방법을 제시한다.

  • 최근의 의료 데이터는 대용량의 디지털 이미지로 생산된다. 이러한 대용량 이미지를 처리하기 위해서는 많은 처리 능력과 대량의 데이터 저장 공간이 필요하다. 현재 각 병원에서 생산되는 의료 이미지는 개별적으로 구축되어있는 PACS[3]에 저장하고 관리한다. 이러한 의료 환경속에서 대량의 데이터 저장공간 확보뿐 아니라 환자들의 중복 검사 방지, 의료 연구를 위한 풍부한 데이터 제공을 위해 각 병원의 의료 데이터를 통합하고 접근하기 위한 방법의 필요성이 증대되고 있는 상황이다. 이러한 요구사항을 만족시키기 위해 그리드 컴퓨팅 기술을 도입하여 고효율의 처리 능력과 풍부한 데이터 저장 공간을 제공하고자 하였으며, 원격의 사용자가 지역적 데이터에 접근할 수 있도록 하는 데이터 관리 서비스를 웹서비스로 제공하는 방법에 대해 제시하였다. 또한, 프로토타입을 설계, 구현하여 실제 가능성에 대해 확인하였다.

  • 분산형 데스크탑 그리드 시스템에서 안정적인 연산 수행을 위한 노드 구성 기법과 동적인 환경에 적응적인 스케줄링 기법은 필수 요소이다. 그러나 기존 연구에서는 자원 제공자의 휘발성에 적응적으로 대처하지 못하는 연산 수행 모델을 사용하였기 때문에 데드라인 내에 전체 작업을 완료해야하는 응용에 대처하지 못하는 문제점이 발생한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 자원제공자의 성능과 논리적인 위치기반으로 자가 조직적 연산 오버레이 네트워크(Computation Overlay Network) 구성 기법과 자원제공자의 작업 완료 확률과 신용도 값을 이용하여 응용 QoS 보장을 위한 휴리스틱기반 복제 (Heuristic based Replication) 기법을 제안한다. 성능평가에서는 기존 스케줄링 기법과 자원제공자의 작업 완료 확률과 신용도에 따른 분포를 이용한 복제기반 스케줄링 기법을 비교평가 한다.

Molecular Docking System using Parallel GPU (병렬 GPU를 이용한 분자 도킹 시스템)

  • The molecular docking system needs a large amount of computation and requires super-computing power. Since the experiment requires a large amount of time, the experiment is conducted in the distributed environment or in the grid environment. Recently, researches on using parallel GPU of far higher performance than that of CPU in scientific computing have been very actively conducted. CUDA is an open technique by which a parallel GPU programming is made possible. This study proposes the molecular docking system using CUDA. It also proposes algorithm that parallels energy-minimizing-computation. To verify such experiments, this study conducted a comparative analysis on the time required for experimenting molecular docking in general CPU and the time and performance of the parallel GPU-based molecular docking which is proposed in this study.

  • The latest active studies on distributed OLAP to adopt a distributed environment are mainly focused on DHT P2P OLAP and Grid OLAP. However, these approaches have its weak points, the P2P OLAP has limitations to multidimensional range queries in the cloud computing environment due to the nature of structured P2P. On the other hand, the Grid OLAP has no regard for adjacency and time series. It focused on its own sub set lookup algorithm. To overcome the above limits, this paper proposes an efficient central managed P2P approach for a cloud computing environment. When a multi-level hybrid P2P method is combined with an index load distribution scheme, the performance of a multi-dimensional range query is enhanced. The proposed scheme makes the OLAP query results of a user to be able to reused by other users' volatile cube search. For this purpose, this paper examines the combination of an aggregation cube hierarchy tree, a quad-tree, and an interval-tree as an efficient index structure. As a result, the proposed cloud P2P OLAP scheme can manage the adjacency and time series factor of an OLAP query. The performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed by a series of experiments to identify its various characteristics.

  • Recently, many researchers have been studied several high performance data transmission techniques such as TCP buffer Tuning, XCP and Parallel Sockets. The Parallel Sockets is an application level library for parallel data transfer, while TCP tuning, XCP and DRS are developed on kernel level. However, parallel socket is not analyzed in detail yet and need more enhancements, In this paper, we verify performance of parallel transfer technique through several experiments and analyze character of traffic interference among socket connections. In order to enhance parallel transfer management mechanism, we predict the number of socket connections to obtain SLA of the network resource and at the same time, affected network bandwidth of existing connections is measured mathematically due to the interference of other parallel transmission. Our analytical scheme predicts very well network bandwidth for applications using the parallel socket only with 8% error.

  • AMGA service, which is one of the EMI gLite middleware components, is widely used for analysis of distributed large scale experiments data as metadata repository by scientific and technological researchers and the use of AMGA is extended farther to include general industries needing metadata Catalogue as well. However AMGA, based unix and Grid UI, has the weakness of being absence of general-purpose user interfaces in comparison to other commercial database systems and that's why it's difficult to use and diffuse it although it has the superiority of the functionality. In this paper, we developed AMGA GUI toolkit to provide work convenience using object-oriented modeling language(UML). Currently, AMGA has been used as the main component among many user communities such as Belle II, WISDOM, MDM, and so on, but we expect that this development can not only lower the barrier to entry for AMGA beginners to use it, but lead to expand the use of AMGA service over more communities.

A Design of Integrated Scientific Workflow Execution Environment for A Computational Scientific Application (계산 과학 응용을 위한 과학 워크플로우 통합 수행 환경 설계)

  • Numerous scientists who are engaged in compute-intensive researches require more computing facilities than before, while the computing resource and techniques are increasingly becoming more advanced. For this reason, many works for e-Science environment have been actively invested and established around the world, but still the scientists look for an intuitive experimental environment, which is guaranteed the improved environmental facilities without additional configurations or installations. In this paper, we present an integrated scientific workflow execution environment for Scientific applications supporting workflow design with high performance computing infrastructure and accessibility for web browser. This portal supports automated consecutive execution of computation jobs in order of the form defined by workflow design tool and execution service concerning characteristics of each job to batch over distributed grid resources. Workflow editor of the portal presents a high-level frontend and easy-to-use interface with monitoring service, which shows the status of workflow execution in real time so that user can check the intermediate data during experiments. Therefore, the scientists can take advantages of the environment to improve the productivity of study based on HTC.
