A Study on the Spray Characteristics with Ultrasonic added Fuel Injection System (초음파 연료분사장치의 분무특성에 관한 연구)

  • This experiment was undertaken to investigate spray characteristics of the conventional inject ion system and the ultrasonic energy added inject ion system. Sauter mean diameter was mesured under the variation of inject ion pressure and the spray distance. To measure the droplet size we used the Malvern system 2600C. The spray angle and mass distribution was analyzed to the CCD camera and the patternater. After experiment, it was found that the ultrasonic energy added injection system had smaller sauter men diameter of droplet, wider mass distribution and wider spray angle than the conventional inject ion system had.

Various Injection Conditions and Fuel Control of an LPG Liquid Injection Engine (다양한 분사조건과 LPG 액상분사엔진의 연료량 제어)

  • Fuel injection rate of an injector is affected by various injection conditions such as injection duration, fuel temperature, injection pressure, and voltage in LPG liquid injection systems for either a port-fuel-injection(PFI) or a direct injection(DI) in a cylinder. Even fuel injection conditions are changed, the air-fuel ratio should be accurately controlled to educe exhaust emissions. In this study, correction factor for the fuel injection rate of an injector is derived from the density ratio and the pressure difference ratio. A voltage correction factor is researched from injection test results on an LPG liquid injection engine. A compensation method of the fuel injection rate is proposed for a fuel injection control system. The experimental results for the LPG liquid injection system in a SI-engine show that this system works well on experimental range of engine speed and load conditions. And the fuel injection rate is accurately controlled by the proposed compensation method.

  • In the case of high-strength or low thermal conductivity material milling, tool breakage occurs easily because of the high friction temperature. Therefore, the effectiveness of the coolant supply is very important for proper tool cooling. As the manually adjustable joint mechanism nozzle is generally used for coolant supply, the cooling efficiency is very low. It also has a bad influence on the workspace environment because of coolant scattering. In this study, the milling characteristics of STS316L were investigated according to the coolant spray position based on the automatic adjustable system. Tool wear and surface roughness were measured according to the coolant spray position. Through these experiments, the effectiveness of the fabricated system was explained.

  • This study is about the bidet which is used to clean the anal and local parts after the user seated on the left side of the toilet in the toilet. The cleaner of the bidet which is contaminated from various bacteria and dirt is washed clean with clean water to keep it clean The present invention relates to a cleaning device for a bidet cleaner that hygienically maintains a bidet used by a plurality of users. As a result of developing and studying a bidet nozzle that can be implemented with a bidet nozzle and a washing nozzle for automatically washing the jetting head of the bidet and the jetting head, the optimum jetting time of the nozzle after the hydraulic jetting is 1 second To 10 seconds, it was confirmed that the nozzle cleanliness of an average of 5 seconds was maintained at 100%. Subsequent studies will require further study of the durability of the product and the cleaning safety at a pressure of $5kg/mm^2$. Toilet bidet is a product that is closely related to the safety and life of the people, but the development of various technologies is still insufficient. Therefore, it is meaningful that this study contributed to the quality of life of the people by continuously researching and developing the bidet.

  • The advantages of the SITVC (Secondary Injection for Thrust Vector Control) technique over mechanical thrust vectoring systems include a reduction in both the nozzle weight and complexity due to the elimination of the mechanical actuators that are used in conventional vectoring. The optimal operating conditions of SITVC were investigated using in-house developed compressible flow analysis codes. Numerical experiments were used to examine the impact of the thrust vector direction with a variety of injection positions, mass flow rates, and injection angles on the two-dimensional expansion cone of a supersonic nozzle. The computational results showed that the optimal position of the secondary injection, with the maximum deviation angle and side thrust, was where the oblique shock generated by the secondary injection reached the end of the nozzle exit.

  • In this paper, we describe the contents of the achievement of basic experiments for manufacturing and evaluating a micro-rocket using solid propellant, as the device of the micro thrust generator which can be used for attitude control of satellites. We try to analyze performance of the rocket through visualization of the motor jet, and adopt various ignition methods to obtain confidence in ignition problem. For this purpose, we develop and test two different types of thrust measurement system.

  • This paper describes the effect of air assisted fuel injection system(AAI) using compressed air to improve the performance of lean combustion engine. AAI is designed to promote fuel atomization and intake flow. In order to investigate the performance of engine with AAl, experiments are conducted varying the engine revolution speed, lean air-fuel ratio and intake manifold pressure. Compared with the original engine, the performance of the engine with MI is improved as the air-fuel mixture becomes leaner or the engine load becomes lower. The descreasing rate of BSFC is propotional to the relative air-fuel ratio and the lean misfire limit extended more than 0.2 relative airfuel ratio.

  • 슬러리 기포탑 반응기는 열 및 물질 전달의 용이성, 낮은 운전비용 및 장치의 간단성의 장점을 가지고 있어서 Fischer-Tropsch 반응, bio-reaction 등에 많이 응용되고 있다. 그러나 기포탑 반응기 내의 물질 거동은 매우 복잡하기 때문에 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있음에도 불구하고 그 현상에 대한 명확한 이해는 어려운 상황이다. 특히 기포탑반응기내에 기체의 포집율(gas hold-up)을 증가시키는 것을 목적으로 하는 연구들이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기체의 분사 방향에 따른 기체 포집율의 변화를 관찰하였다. 기체 분사는 0.6 mm의 pore가 66개로 구성된 perforated plate를 통해서 이루어졌고, 수직방향, 수평방향, 45도 그리고 수직/수평 조합의 네 가지 분사방향에 대해서 실험을 수행하였다. 반응기는 내경이 0.15 m이고 높이 2.0 m 아크릴 반응기를 이용하였다. 사용된 연속상은 수돗물을 사용하였고 분산상 기체로는 압축 공기를 이용하였다. 전체적인 기체 포집율은 수직방향의 분사방향에서 가장 높게 측정되었다. 그리고 수직/수평의 조합 분사방향의 경우, 기체 포집율이 가장 낮게 관찰되었다. 이것은 분사방향이 수직/수평으로 서로 엇갈릴 경우, 기포간의 충돌 가능성이 높아지고 bubble coalescence가 증가하였기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 실제로 homogeneous flow regime에서 heterogeneous flow regime으로 전환되는 기체선속도는 분사방향이 수직, 45도, 수평, 수직/수평 조합의 순서로 감소하였다. 즉 이 순서로 기체흐름의 와류가 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 Dynamic Gas Disengagement(DGD) 분석을 통하여 큰 기포가 발생하기 시작하는 기체 선속도의 변화를 관찰하였다. 이 경우, 예상되듯이 수직/수평 조합에서는 1.5 cm/sec 기체 선속도에서 큰 기포가 발생하기 시작한 반면 수직 방향 분사의 경우에는 2.5 cm/sec의 보다 높은 기체 선속도에서 관찰되기 시작하였다. 이러한 현상들을 종합하였을 때, 기체 분사방향을 수직으로 일정하게 했을 때, 기포간 출동을 최소화하고 와류발생을 최대한 지연시키며 전체 기체 포집율을 증가시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

  • Digital control system for active combustion control of lab-scale combustor equipped with secondary fuel injection is designed. Controllability with adaptive law is revealed with the Cambridge Combustor model and the requirement for control system is derived. The input and output requirements of frequency estimator and fuel supply actuator for the adaptive control law is verified with cold tests. The system can be used as digital based active combustion controller having 150Hz combustion instability.

  • The paper presents the results of the experimental study about flow discharge characteristics of double swirl coaxial injectors for a liquid rocket engine. Flow discharge characteristics of injectors become one of critical design issues for LRE combustion devices. Tap water and liquid oxygen/kerosene were used for ambient and hot firing tests, respectively. A combustion discharge coefficient varies depending on a mixture ratio and a recess ratio, and magnitudes of the variations are different with respect to injector shapes and operating conditions. The variation of a combustion discharge coefficient with a LOx injector is considered to result from flame structure changes due to physical property changes.
