$CO_2$ 클러스터 표면 처리를 이용한 그래핀 특성 향상에 관한 연구

  • 그래핀은 높은 전자 이동도, 열전도도, 기계적 강도, 유연성 등의 고유한 특성으로 다양한 분야에 응용하기 위한 연구가 수행되고 있으며, 특히 전자 소자에의 적용에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 전자 소자에 적용하기 위해서는 성장 및 물성에 관한 규명, 응용 소자에 따른 특성 평가가 필요하다. 이러한 소자 특성은 그래핀 물성에 의한 영향이 기본적이지만 에칭, 전사 등의 공정 중 발생하는 오염, 표면 특성, 잔여물 등에 의한 물성 변화 또한 분석 및 제어에 관한 연구가 필요하다. 열화학증착법(thermal chemical vapor deposition)을 이용한 그래핀 합성은 구리 기판을 사용하며, 합성된 그래핀의 에칭, 박리 및 전사 공정이 있다. 이러한 공정 중 발생하는 오염 입자가 그래핀 표면에 흡착되거나, 제거되지 않은 PMMA 잔여물이 그래핀의 특성에 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 $CO_2$ 클러스터의 표면 충돌을 이용하여 이러한 오염 물질 및 잔여물을 제거하고 그래핀 표면을 평탄화하는 것에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 가스 클러스터란 작동기체의 분자가 수십에서 수백 개 뭉쳐 있는 형태를 뜻하며 이렇게 형성된 클러스터는 수 nm 크기를 형성하게 된다. 그리고 짧은 시간의 응축에 의해 수십 nm 크기 까지 성장 하게 된다. 클러스터를 이용한 표면 처리는 충돌에 의한 제거에 기반 한다. 따라서 생성 및 가속되는 클러스터로부터 대상으로 전달되는 운동량의 정도가 세정 특성에 영향을 미치며 이는 생성되는 클러스터의 크기에 종속적이다. 생성 클러스터의 크기 분포는 분사거리, 유량, 분사 각도, 노즐 냉각 온도 등의 변수에 관한 함수이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 변수들을 제어하여 클러스터를 이용한 그래핀 표면 처리 실험을 수행하였다. 평가는 클러스터 표면 처리 전과 후의 특성 비교에 기반 하였으며, 광학 현미경을 이용한 표면 형상 측정, 라만분광 분석, AFM을 이용한 표면 조도 측정, 그래핀 면저항 측정 결과를 비교하였다. 평가 결과를 통하여 표면 처리를 하지 않은 그래핀에 비하여 면저항과 표면 조도가 낮아지는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 또한 클러스터 세정은 300 mm 웨이퍼 크기 이상의 대면적을 짧은 시간에 건식으로 세정할 수 있다는 장점이 있어 향후 최적화를 통해 그래핀 양산 시 특성 향상을 위한 후처리 방법으로 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Reduction of combustion instability using flame holder integrated injector (통합형 연료분사장치를 통한 연소불안정 저감)

  • A new device injecting secondary fuel behind flameholder was invented and tested in order to reduce low frequency combustion instability of combustor using V-gutter flameholder. Specially designed combustion device could make large combustion instability up to 180 dB successfully, and newly invented device made a success to reduce 110~120Hz low frequency pressure pulsation up to 84%. It was found that the fuel flow rate of secondary fuel supplying behind flameholder was the only parameter which dominates reduction of instability. It is considered that stabilized flame with sufficient secondary fuel can lead to break the connection between combustion system and acoustic system due to independence of flame from fluctuation of main fuel resulted from synchronization with acoustic wave.

Analysis on the Flow Field Around a Hydrofoil with Surface Blowing (표면 유체분출 수중날개의 유동해석)

  • A low order panel method based on the perturbation potential is applied for prediction of performance of blown-flap rudders. In order to improve the solution behavior at the large angle of attacks, the geometry of the trailing wake sheet is computed by aligning freely with the local flow. The effect of the wake sheet roll-up is also included with use of a high order panel method. The flow in the gap between the main component and the flap of the rudder is modeled as Couette flow. The effects of the gap and the flow jet are included in application of a kinematic and a dynamic boundary condition on the inlet and the outlet of the gap as well as on the flap and the wake. The results with the present method are compared with existing experimental data. The method is shown to be capable of determining accurately the flow characteristics even for large flap angles.

Research and Development of a Light-Duty DME Truck Using Common Rail Fuel Injection Systems (커먼레일 연료분사 시스템을 장착한 경량 DME 트럭의 연구 및 개발)

  • In this study, the trucks(2.9-liter) have been developed to use DME as fuel, and performance test of the vehicle's DME engine, power, emissions, fuel economy and vehicle aspects was conducted. For experiments, the fuel system(common-rail injectors and high-pressure pump included) and the engine control logic was developed, and ECU mapping was performed. As a result, the rail pressure from 40MPa to approximately 65% increase compared to the base injector has been confirmed that. Also, the pump discharge flow is 15.5 kg/h when the fuel rail pressure is 400rpm(40 MPa), and the pump discharge flow is 92.1 kg/h when the fuel rail pressure is 2,000rpm(40MPa). The maximum value of full-load torque capability is 25.5kgfm(based on 2,000rpm), and more than 90% compared to the level of the diesel engine were obtained. The DME vehicle was developed in this study, 120 km/h can drive to the stable, and calculated in accordance with the carbon-balance method of fuel consumptions is 5.7 km/L.

  • In general, there are many sensors for fuel injection control such as an air flow sensor, an air intake temperature sensor, a cooling water temperature sensor, a throttle position sensor, and a motor position sensor. In this paper, we proposed a method for controlling the amount of fuel consumption in cars using fuzzy control technique by temperature change of an air intake temperature sensor and air-fuel ratio, the ratio of air and fuel mixture. In the proposed method, the amount of fuel injection is controlled by fuzzy membership functions and fuzzy inference rules established for air-fuel ratio, air intake temperature, and final fuel compensation, after computing air-fuel values using each amount of air intake and each amount of fuel injection. We verified that the proposed method is more efficient than conventional methods in fuel injection control from the results of the simulation program.

Behavior of the Ultrasonically-atomized Liquid-fuel Flame Injected through a Slit-jet Nozzle (Slit-jet 노즐을 통해 분사되는 초음파 무화 액체연료 화염의 거동)

  • An experimental study was performed for the behavior of the burner flame which results from burning of the liquid hydrocarbon fuel atomized by an ultrasonic transducer. Configurations of the flame and combustion-field were caught by both high-speed camera and thermo-graphic camera, and those images were analyzed in detail through a image post-processing. As a result, the combustion-field grew and reaction-temperature rose due to the strengthening of combustion reaction with the increasing flow-rate of carrier-gas. In addition, a phenomenon of flame flickering was discussed through the comparative analysis of the variational behavior between the visible flame and IR (Infrared) flame-field. Also, the flickering frequency of the flame was confirmed through FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) analysis employing the flame area.

A Study on the High Pressure Pump Simulation Model of a Diesel Injection System (디젤 분사시스템의 고압펌프 시뮬레이션 모델에 대한 연구)

  • The high pressure pump of a diesel injection system compresses the fuel supplied at low pressure into high pressure fuel and maintains the fuel of the common rail at the required pressure level according to the engine operating conditions. The high pressure pump is required to operate normally in order to compress the fuel to a high pressure of 2000 bar during the entire lifetime of the vehicle. Consequently, a suitable design technique, material durability and high precision machining are required. In this study, the high pressure pump simulation model of a 1-plunger radial piston pump is modelled by using the AMESim code. The main simulation parameters are the displacement, flow rate and pressure characteristics of the inlet and outlet valves, cam torque characteristics, and operating characteristics of the fuel metering valve and overflow valve. In addition, the operating characteristics of the pump are simulated according to the parameter changes of the hole diameter and the spring initial force of the inlet valve. The simulation results show that the operation of the developed pump model is logically valid. This paper also proposes a simulation model that can be used for current pump design changes and new pump designs.

Metalorganic Chemical Vapor Deposition of Copper Films on TiN Substrates Using Direct Liquid Injection of (hfac)Cu(vtmos) Precursor ((hfac)Cu(vtmos)의 액체분사법에 의한 TiN 기판상 구리박막의 유기금속 화학증착 특성)

  • We have carried out copper MOCVD(metalorganic chemical vapor deposition) onto the reactive sputtered PVD-TiN and rapid thermal converted RTP-TiN substrates using direct liquid injection for effective delivery of the (hfac)Cu(vtmos) [$C_{10}H_{13}O_{5}CuF_{6}$Si: 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoro-2,4- pentadionato (vinyltrimethoxysilane) copper (I)] precursor. Especially, the influences of deposition conditions and the substrate type on growth rate, crystal structure, microstructure, and electrical resistivity of copper deposits have been discussed. It is found that the film growth with 0.2ccm precursor flow rate become mass-transfer controlled up to Ar flow rate of 200sccm and pick-up rate controlled at a vaporizer above 1.0Torr reactor pressure. The surface-reaction controlled region from 155 to 225$^{\circ}C$ at 0.6Torr reactor pressure results in the apparent activation energies of 12.7~14.1kcal/mol, and above 224$^{\circ}C$ the growth rate with $H_2$ addition could be improved compared to the pure Ar carrier. The Cu/RTP-TiN structures which have high copper nucleation density in initial stage of growth show more pronounced (111) preferred orientations and lower electrical resistivities than those on PVD-TiN. The variation of electrical resistivity with substrate temperature reflects the three types of film microstructure changes, showing the lowest value for the deposit at 165$^{\circ}C$ with small grains of good contacts.

Experimental Feasibility Study on Low-Temperature Differential Stirling Engines with Water Spray Heat Transfer (스프레이 열전달을 이용한 저온도차 스털링 엔진의 실험적 개념 연구)

  • This paper presents the results of an experimental feasibility study on low-temperature differential Stirling engines with water spray heat transfer. The water spray enhances the efficiency of the heat transfer from heat sources to the engine and reduces the performance degeneration due to the dead volumes of conventional heat exchangers. A test Stirling engine was developed and an experiment was conducted to determine the characteristics for the initial start-up, steady-state operation, and power output for various flow rates and temperatures of hot supply water. The test results showed that larger flow rates led to reductions in the minimum working temperature of the hot water at start-up. During a series of steady-state operations, higher flow rates and temperatures increased the working speed. Furthermore, the work per cycle and power output were also increased. Eventually, the test Stirling engine had a power level of 0.05 W. Based on this, further research will be conducted to obtain a higher power output and investigate various applications.

Computational Analysis of Airflow in Upper Airway for Drug Delivery of Asthma Inhaler (천식 흡입기의 약물전달을 위한 상기도내의 유동해석)

  • Drug delivery in human upper airway was studied by the numerical simulation of oral airflow. We created an anatomically accurate upper airway model from CT scan data by using a medical image processing software (Mimics). The upper airway was composed of oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, and second generations of branches. Thin sliced CT data and meticulous refinement of model surface under the ENT doctor's advice provided more sophisticated nasal cavity models. With this 3D upper airway models, numerical simulation was conducted by ANSYS/FLUENT. The steady inspiratory airflows in that model was solved numerically for the case of flow rate of 250 mL/s with drug-laden spray(Q= 20, 40, 60 mL/s). Optimal parameters for mechanical drug aerosol targeting of predetermined areas was to be computed, for a given representative upper airways. From numerical flow visualization results, as flow-rate of drug-laden spray increases, the drag spray residue in oral cavity was increased and the distribution of drug spray in trachea and branches became more homogeneous.
