With the development of the internet and international agreements such as the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), Korean researchers frequently encounter scientific names of foreign species, and these are named on a case-by-case basis in Korean without any standard naming method. Therefore, standard Korean names for entire orders and families in the world are required for better communications in Korea. However, there have been no comprehensive discussions of the standardization of Korean names for the orders and families found in the world. In this study, we 1) compare the Korean names of orders and families in the references, 2) discuss naming methods in Korean for foreign taxa, and 3) then suggest standard Korean names for the orders and families in the APG III, which is an up-to-date angiosperm classification system. This study will be a starting point for the national standardization of Korean names for orders and families found throughout the world.

Since new issues and topics are emerging in the information and library science fields, diverse needs are identified to enhance the curriculum of library and information science education. This study investigated curriculum of library and information science in US and identified the topics of classes in the curriculum by the three aspects such as competency areas, scientific and technology category, and research fields. Consequently, topics related various information technology including system design and implement are the most popular topics in all analyses. Library and information center management and user service are also major topics of the curriculum.

A total of 4 species of the genus Rhyacionia Hubner are recognized from Korea. Among them 3 species, datiua Heinrich, pinicolana Doubleday, and pinivorano (Zeller) are reported for the first time from Korea.

Some scyphomedusae were collected from the coasts of Busan (Gijang), Geojedo Island(Jangmok-ri) and Samcheok during the period from June 1989 to May 1999. They were identified into Stenoscyphus inabai of Stauromedusae and Aurelia aurita in Semaeostomeae. They are first recorded in Korea.

Five species of the genus Zeiraphera from Korea were recognized. Among them species, Z. demutana (Walsingham) and Z. rufumitrana(Herrich-Schaffer), are reported for the first time Korea.

최근 스마트폰과 컴퓨터 등의 비중이 커지면서 거북목 증후군의 관심사가 커졌다. 거북목 증후군은 잘못된 자세로 인해 어깨의 근육과 인대가 늘어나 통증이 생기는 증상을 의미한다. 이러한 잘못된 자세에는 대표적으로 일자목과 역c자목이 있으며 일자목은 7개의 목뼈로 이루어진 경추라인이 c자 라인에서 일직선으로 뼈의 형태가 바뀌어 디스크가 일어나 통증을 유발하는 증상이고 역c자목은 정상의 목뼈 구조를 잃어버린 형태로 곧 디스크를 보이며 고개를 드는 것이 힘드며 구부정한 자세를 취하게 되는 증상이다. 본 연구에서는 컨볼루션 신경망 (CNN) 학습 모델을 구현하여 주어진 자세가 올바른 자세인지 일자목인지 c자목인지를 진단할 수 있는 분류기를 구현하였다. 또한, 최근 코로나 사태로 인해 마스크 장착이 일상화되고 있는데, 추가 데이터를 보강하여, 마스크 착용상태에서도 적용가능한 모델로 확장하였다.

The zoantharians and ceriantiparians known from the Korea Strait are 21 species, 16 genera, 10 families in 3 orders, of which 6 species are newly recorded to the Korea Strait fauna. Three species of them are new to Korean waters: Flosmaria mustsuensis, Hormathia andersoni and Verrillactis paguri. The specimens were collected from 34 localities of Korea Strait from 1984 to 1991.

In this study, one newly recorded species, P. vittapenna Kim & Park, of the Promalactis is recognized. A diagnosis and distributional data are provided with illustrations of its adult and genitalia. A taxonomic key to all Laos Promalactis species is also provided.

In this study, the Korean Thyas has been reviewed. We firstly described a species, Thyas coronata (Fabricius, 1775), including detailed illustrations of adult specimens and their reproductive organs. Additionally, we have provided taxonomic diagnoses and distributional information for all Korean Thyas species.
