A Distributed Nearest Neighbor Heuristic with Bounding Function (분기 함수를 적용한 분산 최근접 휴리스틱)

  • The TSP(Traveling Salesman Problem) has been known as NP-complete, there have been various studies to find the near optimal solution. The nearest neighbor heuristic is more simple than the other algorithms which are to find the optimal solution. This paper designs and implements a new distributed nearest neighbor heuristic with bounding function for the TSP using the master/slave model of PVM(Parallel Virtual Machine). Distributed genetic algorithm obtains a near optimal solution and distributed nearest neighbor heuristic finds an optimal solution for the TSP using the near optimal value obtained by distributed genetic algorithm as the initial bounding value. Especially, we get more speedup using a new genetic operator in the genetic algorithm.

Design and Implementation of the Hi인 Power Ka-band Waveguide Diplexer with an E-plane T-junction (고전력 전송이 가능한 Ka 대역 E-평면 T형 분기 도파관 다이플렉서의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, the design and implementation of the Ka-band(20/30 GHz) waveguide diplexer with an E-plane T-junction are described. The waveguide diplexer consists of a transmit filter and a receive filter combined to the antenna port via an E-plane T-junction. The reason why the E-plane T-junction structure was selected is to reduce PIM(Passive Intermodulation) level as the split-plane is located in the low electrical current zone. The optimization was performed using the equivalent circuit so that the computation time might reduce. The structure of the diplexer was designed to handle high power and the multipaction analysis was performed. The multipaction margin was greater than 12 dB and satisfied with ESA/ESTEC recommendation. The manufactured diplexer shows minimum return loss of 22 dB, maximum insertion loss of 0.20 dB and maximum isolation of -40 dB for both transmitted receive bands. Those mean the analysis results of the waveguide diplexer were well agreed with the electrical performance test.

  • Maximum intensity projection (MIP) is a volume rendering method which extracts maximum values along the viewing direction through volume data. It visualizes high-density structures, such as angio-graphic datasets so that it is frequently used in medical imaging systems. We have proposed an efficient two-step MIP acceleration method that uses the recent CPUs. First, we exploited SIMD instructions to reduce conditional branch instructions which take up a considerable part of whole rendering process, so that we improved rendering speed. Second, we proposed a new method, which accesses volume and image data successively by modifying the shear-warp rendering. This method improves memory access patterns so that cache misses are reduced. Using the current CPUs, our method improved the rendering speed by a factor of 7 than that of the shear-warp rendering.

  • In this paper, vibration analysis of power differential gear train for 2.5MW wind turbine system is analyzed. which system is composed of two planetary gear set, one helical gear set and main shaft that connected by flange. Planetary gear set, helical gear set, main shaft are modeled in MASTA program and housing, torque arm, carrier, flange components are modeling by finite element method. Each models are combined by component mode superposition. To analysis of natural vibration characteristic about 2.5MW wind turbine gear train was performed and check about critical speed with wind load, mass unbalance, angle misalignment excitation frequency.

  • For many years, it has been widely studied on fork-join production systems but there is not much literature focusing on the finite buffer(s) of either individuals or shared, and generally distributed processing times. Usually, it is difficult to handle finite buffer(s) through a standard queueing theoretical approach. In this study, by using the max-plus algebraic approach we studied buffer-shared fork-join production systems with general processing times. However, because it cannot provide proper computational ways for performance measures, we developed simulation models using @RISK software and the expressions derived from max-plus algebra. From the simulation experiments, we compared some properties on waiting time with respect to a buffer capacity under two blocking policies: BBS (Blocking Before Service) and BAS (Blocking After Service).
