Analyses of Spectral IP Responses over 20-Degree Dipping Structure (20도 경사구조에 대한 스펙트럴 IP응답의 해석)

  • Spectral induced polarization (IP) responses for 20-degree dipping body are obtained by both numerical and scale models. The IP responses for the dipping body vary not only with current frequencies but also with resistivity ratios between the body and the surrounding medium. If the ion concentration related to polarizable reaction is constant, the resistivity of polarizable body depends only on the current frequency. This implies that the IP responses to the resistivity ratio are qualitatively equivalent to those to the current frequency. The numerical results with wide-range resistivity ratios, therefore, can be used as standard curves for the interpretation of spectral IP data.

  • 전기 도금 시스템에서 전산모사 해석을 이용하여 도금층 두께를 정확히 예측하기 위해서 음극 표면의 확산층이 고려된 도금 Simulator를 개발하였다. 특정 형상의 경우 도금액 교반이 원활하지 않아 불균일한 도금이 이루어지는 경우가 있기 때문에 이를 예측하기 위해서는 교반 영향을 나타내는 확산층을 고려해야 한다. 유동해석을 통해 도금액 교반 조건 및 형상에 따른 음극 표면의 유속을 결정하고 유속별 도금액 DB를 구성하여 음극의 위치별 분극곡선을 차별화하여 유동 조건에 따른 확산층 변화를 고려하는 형태로 구현하였다. 유속별 도금액 DB는 실험 데이터 및 해석 데이터를 종합하여 구축하였다. 교반의 영향을 많이 받는 시스템을 대상으로 개발된 Simulator 결과의 타당성을 검증하였고 확산층 적용에 따른 도금 결과의 차이를 확인하였다.

  • A numerical study on the performance of a PEMFC was performed by using a CFD-ACE+commercial program. The effects of width, hight and shape of channel cross section and mass flow rate were investigated. In order to check the validity of the simulation, comparisons were carried out between predictions and experimental data available in the literature and shows the reasonable agreement. It is found that only the width of channel is strongly related to the performance of a PEMFC, while other factors have no marked effects.

  • Shot peening is an effective method of improving the fatigue strength of components and structures. The compressive residual stress produced by surface plastic deformation with shot peening is usually regarded as the major factor in increasing fatigue strength. In this study, the influence of shot peening on corrosion was investigated. Spring steel immersed in $3.5\%$ NaCl prior was used to evaluate the effect of shot peening on fatigue properties. The immersion test was performed on the five kinds of specimens with shot peened and unpeened. The distributions of residual stresses of shot peened spring steels were measured in an X-ray diffraction apparatus, using the two-point method. Corrosion potential, polarization curve, residual stress, etc. were investigated, based on the experimental results. From test results, the effect of shot peening on the corrosion was evaluated.

  • Mechanism of cobalt deposition was investigated using the potentiodynamic potentiostatic methods in solution of pH 4 and pH6.4 In all experimental conditions, polarization curves showed two regions with different Tafel slopes and the reaction order of cobalt ion was varied with the pH. It is belived that the deposition mechanism depends not only on the portential but also on the ph.

  • Among induced polarization (IP) methods, spectral IP (SIP) uses alternating current as a transmission source to measure amplitudes and phase of complex electrical resistivity at each source frequency, which disperse with respect to source frequencies. The frequency dependence, which can be explained by a relaxation model such as Cole-Cole model or equivalent models, is analyzed to estimate SIP parameters from dispersion curves of complex resistivity employing multi-objective optimization (MOO). The estimation uses a generic algorithm to optimize two objective functions minimizing data misfits of amplitude and phase based on Cole-Cole model, which is most widely used to explain IP relaxation effects. The MOO-based estimation properly recovered Cole-Cole model parameters for synthetic examples but hardly fitted for the real laboratory measures ones, which have relatively smaller values of phases (less than about 10 mrad). Discrepancies between scales for data misfits of amplitude and phase, used as parameters of MOO method, and it is in necessity to employ other methods such as machine learning, which can deal with the discrepancies, to estimate SIP parameters from dispersion curves of complex resistivity.

  • Wavelength converting devices with a ridge-type waveguide in periodically poled $MgO:LiNbO_3$ are made and characterized. The experimental results are compared with theoretical analysis on the effects of waveguide dimension and duty ratio of the periodically poled structure. To show the relationship of the conversion efficiency to those factors, a new measurement system is configured. That experimental results show that the center wavelength, normalized conversion efficiency and full width half maximum of the conversion efficiency curve are 1067.45 nm, 90.7%/$Wcm^2$ and 0.17 nm, respectively. Also, the estimated results of the duty period and full width half maximum of the conversion efficiency from theoretical calculations agreed well with experimental results with the errors of 0.016 ${\mu}m$ and 0.01 nm.

  • 일반적으로 탄소강은 수용액 중에 노출될 경우 전면부식에 의한 손상을 받는다. 그러나 부식방지를 위하여 부식억제제를 적용할 경우, 탄소강의 부식거동은 현저한 변화를 겪게된다. 이러한 부식거동의 변화는 첨가되는 부식억제제의 종류에 따라 분 류할 수가 있는데, 양극부식억제제, 음극부식억제제 그리고 이들의 혼합부식억제제로 분류할 수가 있다. 현장에 적용된 부식억제제 시스템 중에는 자동차용 부동액과 가스히터용 열전달 매체액이 있다. 이러한 부식억제제가 적용된 시스댐은 정확한 부식억제능의 평가에 의한 그 교체 시기의 결정이 매우 중요하다. 교체 시기가 빠를 경우, 유지비용이 과다하게 소요되는 문제가 있으며, 교체시기가 늦을 경우 설비의 부식을 초래하는 문제 가 있다. 따라서 부식억제제의 정확한 성능 평가법은 매우 중요하며, 이에 대한 다양 한 연구가 진행 중이다. 부식억제제가 함유된 용액의 부식억제성능을 평가하는 방법에는 대표적으로 무게 감량법을 이용하고 있다. 이 방법은 다종의 금속이 적용된 자동차용 부동액을 실제 사용조건과 유사한 실험 조건에서 단기간, 가혹조건에서의 무게 감량에 의해 부식억 제능을 평가하는 방법이다. 그러나 이러한 방법은 특히 국부부식이 진행될 경우 부 식억제능을 정량화 하는데 어려움이 있다. 한편 전기화학적 측정방법으로는 분극곡선법을 이용한 $E_P$(공식개시전위), $E_R$(재부동태 화전위)의 측정법이 있다. 또한 부식억제피막의 안정성을 측정하기 위한 방법으로 인 위적인 양극전류 인가에 의한 피막의 파괴후에 피막이 복원가능 여부 및 그 속도 측 정에 의해 부식억제제의 건전성을 확인할 수가 었다. 본 연구에서는 가스히터의 주구성 재료인 A210 Gr Al의 탄소강을 사용하여, 사용기간이 5년 이상되어 부식억제 기능을 거의 상실한 것으로 여겨지는 열전달 매체액 과 신규 부식억제제가 적용된 시스템 등 객관적으로 확인된 부식억제제 시스랩에 대 하여 다양한 평가 방법을 동원 비교분석하고자 하였다. 실험은 KSM 2142에 의한 무게감량법, 분극곡선 측정에 의한 $E_P$(공식개시전위), $E_R$(재부동태화전위) 측정, 시간에 따른 자연전위 변화 측정 빛 이때의 부식속도(선형분극법), 인위적인 피막 파괴 전,후 의 전위 변화 및 부식속도 측정법에 의한 국부부식 발달 저지능 등을 평가하여 각 실험결과를 비교분석하여 보았다.

Properties of MFS capacitors with various gate electrodes using $LiNbO_3$ferroelectric thin film ($LiNbO_3$ 강유전체 박막을 이용한 MFS 커패시터의 게이트 전극 변화에 따른 특성)

  • Metal-ferroelectric-semiconductor(MFS) capacitors by using rapid thermal annealed $LiNbO_3$/Si structures were successfully fabricated and demonstrated nonvolatile memory operations of the MFS capacitors. The C-V characteristics of MFS capacitors showed a hysteresis loop due to the ferroelectric nature of the $LiNbO_3$thin film. The dielectric constant of the $LiNbO_3$film calculated from the capacitance in the accumulation region in the capacitance-voltage(C-V) curve was about 25. The gate leakage current density of MFS capacitor using a platinum electrode showed the least value of $1{\times}10^{-8}\textrm{A/cm}^2$ order at the electric field of 500 kV/cm. The minimum interface trap density around midgap was estimated to be about $10^{11}/cm^2$.eV. The typical measured remnant polarization(2Pr) value was about 1.2 $\mu\textrm{C/cm}^2$, in an applied electric field of $\pm$ 300 kv/cm. The ferroelectric capacitors showed no polarization degradation up to about $10^{10}$ switching cycles when subjected to symmetric bipolar voltage pulse in the 500 kHz.

A Study on Corrosive Behavior of Spring Steel by Shot-Peening Process (쇼트피닝 가공을 통한 스프링강의 부식거동에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the request for the high strength of material is more and more increased in the area of industrial environment and machinery. To accomplish the high strength of materials, carbonizing treatment, nitrifying treatment, shot-peening method are representatively applied, however, shot-peening method is generally used among the surface processes. Shot peening is a cold working process used to impact Compressive residual stressed in the exposed surface layers. Benefits due to shot peening are increase in resistance to fatigue, stress corrosion cracking, fretting, galling, erosion and closing of pores. In this study, the influence of shot peening on the corrosion was investigated on spring steel immersed in 3.5% NaCl. The immersion test as performed on the two kinds of specimens. Corrsion potential, polarization curve, residual stress and etc, were investigated from experiment results. From test result the effect of shot peening on the corrosion was evaluated. The important results of the experimental study on the effects of shot peened on the environment corrosion of spring steels are as follows; In case of corrosion potential, shot peened specimen shows more activated negative direction as compared with parent mental. Surface of specimen, which is treated with the shot peened is placed as more activated state against inner base metal. It can cause t도 anti-corrosion effect on the base metal.
