This study aims to investigate the current states of branch systems of public libraries in Korea and to find implications to improve such systems. Nationwide surveys to directors and branch directors of public libraries were conducted along with case studies on major local areas. It was revealed that the duties for each branch were rationally assigned in functional perspectives. The result also revealed that the branch systems of provincial office of education were planned in an inappropriate manner without considering their functional attributes. Other findings included (1) public library branches were necessary to be located in local governments based on the hierarchal structure of the following: a central library, a main local branch. a mobile library unit. public mini-library and deposit station ; (2) Saemaul mobile library and private mini-library service were the most effective when they were provided in conjunction with public library branches.

The purpose of this study is (1) to ascertain the common trends In establishing the branch library of university libraries in Korea and (2) to Investigate Into Its effect upon the use of university libraries as a whole. In order to achieve this purpose. this study focused on the relationship of branch libraries with the size of library collections. the number of students, history of universities, the number of academic departments, the space of main libraries and the budget of the libraries. Seventy-three branch libraries established within the twenty-six university libraries were chosen for the first purpose of this study. In order to achieve this second purpose. 6 university libraries are chosen two libraries with six branch libraries. two libraries with three branch libraries. and two libraries without a branch library The number of visitors were counted at the doors of the six libraries at indifferent time periods.

A national library is a library specifically established and administrated by the government of a nation to serve as the repository of knowledge and information for that country. National libraries are generally a county's designated national repository, collecting literature Published in the country, in the language of the country, or about the country they represent. In case of advanced countries, national libraries have more than one branches at many different locations. Its system is called the distributed national library system. But the National Library of Korea maintains a centralized library system located in Seoul. This research which it tries to pay attention in this problem Point extracted a logical ground and suggested the mid-long term basic plan(S-shaved Branch Library Project) for a National Library of Korea to convert and reconstruct from centralized system to centralized-distributed system.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the logical and legal basis for the development of new branch libraries of the National Library of Korea(NLK) and then to propose the strategic direction of planning the branch(es) as an appropriate model for the future delivery of NLK services. In this research, it is emphasized that the branch(es) of the NLK should not be perceived as "another large public library, " but rather be planned to help consolidate and expand the basic roles of the NLK and reinforce its identity as a national library. In addition, it is recommended that the branch(es) should be located outside the Seoul Metropolitan area to facilitate the services to the larger public, and some programs and activities for the underprivileged and the multi-cultural families in our society as well.

The purpose of this research is to propose the mediumand long term plan for the development of new branch libraries of the National Library of Korea. As the most appropriate strategic direction of planning the branches, proposed is the "bipolar and multidirectional" model which means the establishment of the only one branch library of the National Library of Korea and then, if necessary, more than one national libraries later. In this research, it is suggested that the National Library of Korea as a national library take a leading role for the development of nationwide library system, develop a sustainable medium- and long-term plan for securing the appropriate budget, human resources, and legal support, and help all kinds of libraries improve the level of services.

A direct injection sprayer was designed using the concepts of injection mixing and total flow control, flowrate-based system compensating for the variation of forwarding speed. A metered rate, proportionally to the actual diluent flow rate, of a tracer chemical was injected directly into the diluent stream. The injection of chemical may improve the precision and safety of chemical application process. The control system was evaluated for the variables of the control interval, tolerances and sensitivities of flow regulation valve and injection pump. Performance of the system was assessed as that the response time of flow rate, response time of injection rate, absolute steady state error, and the coefficient of variance(C.V.) of concentration were 8.5 and -0.53 seconds, 0.067 lpm(0.8%) and 3.15%, respectively, at optimal parameters of control interval of 1.0 sec, fast sensitivity of flow regulation valve, medium sensitivity of injection pump and medium tolerance of flow rate. Performance of the system can be improved by increasing the sensitivity of flow regulating valve and employing a high resolution velocimeter, such as Doppler radar.

This study aims at suggesting mid- and long-term development plan (vision, core values, strategic goals and functional performances, major tasks and detailed action plans for each strategy, organizational and human resources management, shared responsibility with the National Library of Korea which is main library in collection and services of policy information, and cooperation and collaborative exchange programs) for the National Library of Korea, Sejong. This study is based on the appropriateness that the library should enhance its visibility through focusing on the role as the specialized library in charge of public policy information services if it wished to ensure the identity of a branch of the National library of Korea for the comprehensive collection, preservation, and nationwide services of public policy information.

건축 중인 국립박물관 부여분관의 건축양식(김수근씨 설계)이 일본 신사건축양식을 닮았다는 시비는 건축계는 물론 사학계를 비롯한 일반의 큰 관심사가 되었다. 특히 민족의 혼이 배어 있는 백제의 귀물을 영구히 보존하며 전시할 박물관이라는데 그 문제점이 있다. 본 협회에서는 지난 8월 27일, 9월 9일 양차에 걸쳐 본 협회 임원과 좌담회에 참석할 각계 대표로서 조사단을 구성하여 현지를 답사하고 9월13일에 신문회관 3층에서 각계 인사를 모신가운데 좌담회를 가졌다.
