최근 웹에 대한 관심이 집중되면서 정보의 양이 지수적으로 증가하고 있다. 웹 사용자들은 정보 검색에 있어서 많은 어려움을 겪게 되었다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 정보검색(Information Retrieval) 시스템의 웹 환경으로의 적용이나 개인 적응형 에이전트(Personal Adaptive Agent)를 이용한 정보 여과(Information Filtering)에 대한 연구가 진행되어왔다. 본 논문에서는 BISAgent(Bookmark Information sharing Agent) 시스템이 사용자에게 효과적인 정보 검색을 제공함을 설명한다. BISAgent는 여러 사용자의 북마크 정보를 공유하여 협동적 정보 여과기법(Collaborative Filtering)을 이용한 협동적 웹 브라우징(Collaborative Web Browsing)을 수행한다. 이 시스템의 성능을 평가하기 위해 검색 결과의 개수를 통한 정보 여과의 양적 측면과 통계적 방법을 이용하여 정보 추천(information recommendation)의 정확성을 실험하였다.

북유럽 방산전시회인 "MILINF '89"가 덴마크, 핀란드, 노르웨이, 스웨덴등의 주요 50여개 업체가 참가한 가운데 금년 6월에 개최되었다. MILINF는 1984년에 최초로 열렸으며, 1986년에 이어 이번 전시회는 제3회이다. 최근 이 지역에 대한 관심 제고등 시기적인 맥락에 발맞추어, MILINF에 참가한 주요업체 및 제품을 소개한다

One significant challenge that arises in social tagging systems is the rapid increase in the number and diversity of the tags. As opposed to structured annotation systems, tags provide users an unstructured, open-ended mechanism to annotate and organize web-content. In this paper, we propose a scheme for URL recommendation that is based on a folksonomy which is comprised of user-defined tags, URL-keywords and the category folder name as the major element. This scheme will be further improved and implemented on a browser extension that recommends to users the best way to classify a particular URL.

Due to the exponential increase of information, search and access for the Web information or service takes much time. Web information is represented through several web pages using hyperlinks and each web page is contains several topics. However. most existing web tools don't reflect such web authoring tendencies and treat it as an independent information unit. This inconsistency yields inherent problems in web browsing and searching. In this paper, we propose a web surfing assistant called LinkBroker that provides collodion pages. They are composed of relevant information extracted from several web pages that have table and frame structure in order to improve accessibility to web information. Especially, the system extracts a set of web pages that are logically connected and groups those pages using table and frame tags. Then, essential information blocks in each page of a group are extracted to construct an integrated summary page. It Provides a comprehensive view to user and one cut way to access distributed information. Experimental results show the effectiveness and usefulness of LinkBroker system.

본 논문에서는 벡터 양자화(Vector Quantization)를 이용해서 소유자의 저작물에 대해 저작권을 보호할 수 있는 디지털 워터마킹(Watermarking) 기법을 제안한다. 소유자의 워터마크 정보로는 사용자 정보를 비밀키를 이용해서 암호화한 데이터를 사용하며, 워터마킹 처리는 원본 이미지를 웨이블렛 기반의 벡터 양자화(Vector Quantization)에 사용되는 코드북(Coodbook)을 이용한다. 코드북을 사용함으로서 양질의 정보를 유지하면서 워터마킹을 효과적으로 처리할 수 있다.

Social bookmarking is one of the most interesting trends in the current web environment. In a social bookmarking system, users annotate a web page with tags, which describe the contents of the page. Numerous studies have been done using this information, mostly on enhancing the quality of web search. In this paper, we use this information to measure the semantic similarity between two web pages. Since web pages consist of various types of multimedia data, it is quite difficult to compare the semantics of two web pages by comparing the actual data contained in the pages. With the help of social bookmarks, this comparison can be performed very effectively. In this paper, we propose a new similarity measure between web pages, called Web Page Similarity Based on Entire Tags (WSET), based on social bookmarks. The experimental results show that the proposed measure yields more satisfactory results than the previous ones.

본 논문에서는 전자책을 이용한 e-Learning 플랫폼을 소개한다. 이 시스템은 전자책에 대해 주석(annotation)을 추가하는 방식으로 텍스트의 부분에 대해 하이라이트, 북마크로 메모를 달거나 프리드로잉을 이용하여 설명을 달 수 있다 전자책에 추가된 하이라이트 및 북마크 등의 정보는 학생 리더 시스템에 외부 데이터로 저장되어 개인적인 학습에 사용할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 동기적인 원격 강의 방식으로 교사의 네비게이션과 액션에 따라 그 결과를 학생 터미널에 바로 보여주어 교사가 교재 화면을 칠판 대신 사용하면서 강의 내용을 전달하는 것이 가능하다. 또한 전자책에 기반한 토론을 지원하기 위해 채팅 기능을 구현하였는데, 각 문장은 전자책의 특정 위치(context)에 연결될 수 있다. 본 시스템은 전자책을 이용한 개별학습 자료의 제공 및 실시간 원격 강의를 위한 플랫폼을 제시하였으며, 자바 기반의 전자책 리더 시스템상에 구현하였다[1].

The present paper examines trust, interpersonal relationship, and civil society in Scandinavia and East Asia. In the first section, the concepts of trust and democracy are defined. In the second section, the cultural transformations that paved the way for the development of democracy in the West and Scandinavia are reviewed. In the third section, the basis of trust and democracy in East Asia, focusing on Confucianism, is reviewed. In the fourth section, a review of an empirical study conducted with a national sample in Denmark, Sweden, Japan, and Korea is presented. The results indicate that both the Scandinavian and East Asian respondents support the basic ideas of liberal democracy and trust close ingroup members. East Asian respondents are less likely than Scandinavian respondents to trust their colleagues and outgroup members and much less likely to trust political and government institutions. Scandinavian respondents prefer tolerant leaders who lead by ideas, while Koreans prefer strong paternalistic and moral leaders. Japanese respondents are less supportive of paternalistic leaders. Overall, results indicate that in Scandinavia and East Asia, although the basic ideas about democracy and human rights are similar, the methods of implementing these ideas are different. When compared with Scandinavia, there is much lower transparency and accountability in East Asia. In the final section, the challenges that the modern democracies face are discussed.

Most Web search engines use ranking methods that take both the relevancy and the importance of documents into consideration. The importance of a document denotes the degree of usefulness of the document to general users. One of the most successful methods for estimating the importance of a document has been Page-Rank algorithm which uses the hyperlink structure of the Web for the estimation. In this paper, we propose a new importance estimation algorithm for the blog environment. The proposed method, first, calculates the importance of each document using user's bookmark and click count. Then, the Guru point of a blogger is computed as the sum of all importance points of documents which he/she wrote. Finally, the guru points are reflected in document ranking again. Our experiments show that the proposed method has higher correlation coefficient than the traditional methods with respect to correct answers.
