  • A ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance System) for the safe driving is an important area in autonumous car. Specially, a ADAS software using an image sensors attached in previous car is low in building cost, and utilizes for various purpose. A algorithm for detecting the break-lamp from the tail-lamp of preceding vehicle is proposed in this paper. This method can perceive the driving condition of preceding vehicle. Proposed method uses the YOLO techinicque that has a excellent performance in object tracing from real scene, and extracts the intensity variable region of break-lamp from HSV image of detected vehicle ROI(Region Of Interest). After detecting the candidate region of break-lamp, each isolated region is labeled. The break-lamp region is detected finally by using the proposed selective-attention model that percieves the shape-similarity of labeled candidate region. In order to evaluate the performance of the preceding vehicle break-lamp detection system implemented in this paper, we applied our system to the various driving images. As a results, implemented system showed successful results.

  • During atmospheric ascent of a launch vehicle, airborne acoustic loads act on the vehicle and its effect becomes pronounced at transonic speed. In the present study, acoustic loads acting on a hammerhead launch vehicle at a transonic speed have been analyzed using -ω SST based IDDES and the results including mean Cp, Cprms, and PSD are compared to available wind-tunnel test data. Mesh dependency of IDDES results has been investigated and it has been concluded that with an appropriate turbulence scale-resolving computational mesh, the characteristic flow features around a transonic hammerhead launch vehicle such as separated shear flow at fairing shoulder and its reattachment on rear body as well as large pressure fluctuation in the region of separated flow behind the boat-tail can be predicted with reasonable accuracy for engineering purposes.

  • In this paper, we proposed a numerical model based on moment-curvature, to evaluate the resistance of reinforced concrete (RC) members subjected to blast loading. To consider the direct shear failure mode, we introduced a dimensionless spring element based on the empirical direct shear stress-slip relation. Based on the dynamic increase factor equations for materials, new dynamic increase factor equations were constructed in terms of the curvature rate for the section which could be directly applied to the moment-curvature relation. Additionally, equivalent bending stiffness was introduced in the plastic hinge region to consider the effect of bond-slip. To verify the validity of the proposed model, a comparative study was conducted against the experimental results, and the superiority of this numerical model was confirmed through comparison with the analytical results of the single-degree of freedom model. Pressure-impulse (P-I) diagrams were produced to evaluate the resistance of members against bending failure and direct shear failure, and additional parametric studies were conducted.

  • Recently, many researches have been conducted to estimate blood pressure using ECG(Electrocardiogram) and PPG(Photoplentysmography) signals. In this paper, we designed and implemented a mobile system to monitor blood pressure in real time by using 1-D convolutional neural networks. The proposed model consists of deep 11 layers which can learn to extract various features of ECG and PPG signals. The simulation results show that the more the number of convolutional kernels the learned neural network has, the more detailed characteristics of ECG and PPG signals resulted in better performance with reduced mean square error compared to linear regression model. With receiving measurement signals from wearable ECG and PPG sensor devices attached to the body, the developed system receives measurement data transmitted through Bluetooth communication from the devices, estimates systolic and diastolic blood pressure values using a learned model and displays its graph in real time.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for the motion recognition method required in the industrial field in mixed reality. In industrial sites, movements (grasping, lifting, and carrying) are required throughout the upper full-body, from trunk movements to arm movements. In this paper, we use a method composed of sensors and wearable devices that are not vision-based such as Kinect without using heavy motion capture equipment. We used two IMU sensors for the trunk and shoulder movement, and used Myo arm band for the arm movements. Real-time data coming from a total of 4 are fused to enable motion recognition for the entire upper body area. As an experimental method, a sensor was attached to the actual clothes, and objects were manipulated through synchronization. As a result, the method using the synchronization method has no errors in large and small operations. Finally, through the performance evaluation, the average result was 50 frames for single-handed operation on the HoloLens and 60 frames for both-handed operation.

  • Flexible electrodes for wearable devices have been actively studied in not only achieving mechanical/electrical stability, but also providing various functionalities for extending its industrial application. In this study, a flexible carbon/PDMS composite is prepared by addition of carbon black (CB) as a conductive filler, and effect of CB with different contents on electrical properties of the composite was investigated for the application of flexible electrodes, temperature sensor and heater. With increase of CB contents, resistivity of the carbon/PDMS was increased, and excellent durability was observed, confirmed by repetitive stretching deformation test. Resistance increase of the carbon/PDMS with temperature reveals the property of positive temperature coefficient, which can be applied for temperature sensor. Also, joule heating on the carbon/PDMS was observed when electrical potential was applied, indicating the applicability of the carbon/PDMS for heater.

  • In this study, a comparative test was conducted on a specially developed elastic waterproof paint and general water-based paint for the purpose of responding to cracks occurring on the outer wall of concrete structures and improving watertightness. Through the comparative experiment, it was confirmed that the watertightness could be improved by securing the crack shielding property, and it was also confirmed that about 10 times more crack responsiveness was secured compared to general water-based paint. In addition, it was confirmed that the adhesion performance of at least 1.3MPa and resistance to a water permeation pressure of 0.1MPa were possible, confirming that stability was secured from a waterproofing perspective.

  • Recently, interest in flight simulators based on HMD and mixed reality is increasing. However, they have limitations in providing various interactions and a sense of presence to pilot wearing HMD. To overcome these limitations, a mixed reality image corresponding to the interaction under the actual cockpit environment must be generated in real time and provided to the pilot. For this purpose, we proposed a mixed reality image generation method, in which the cockpit area including the pilot's body could be extracted from real image obtained from the camera attached to the HMD and then composed with virtual image to generate a high-resolution mixed reality image. Simulation results showed that the proposed method could provide mixed reality images to HMD at 30 Hz frame rate with 99% image composition accuracy.

  • This study aims to investigate the dynamic fracture characteristics of rocks and rock-like materials subjected to the Nonex Rock Cracker (NRC), a vapor pressure crushing agent that produces vapor pressure by instantaneously vaporizing a liquid mixture crystallized through the thermite reaction. Furthermore, the study seeks to develop an analytical technique for predicting the fracture pattern. A dynamic fracture test was performed on a PMMA block, an artificial brittle material, using the NRC. High-speed cameras and dynamic pressure gauges were employed to capture the moment of vapor pressure generation and measure the vapor pressure-time history, respectively. The 2-dimensional Dynamic Fracture Process Analysis (2D DFPA) was used to simulate the fracture process caused by the vapor pressure, with the applied pressure determined based on the vapor pressure-time history. The proposed analytical method was used to examine various fracture patterns with respect to granite material and high-performance explosives.
