  • Objectives: The purpose of this review is to evaluate the efficacy of moxibustion for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. Methods: For relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs), we searched the following databases from their inception to September 1, 2020: The Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI), Koreanstudies Information Service System (KISS), Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), and National Digital Science Library (NDSL). The key search terms were 'stress urinary incontinence' and 'moxibustion'. Data extraction and assessment of risk of bias were conducted by two authors independently. Results: A total of 11 RCTs were finally included in this systematic review. In all studies, moxibustion treatment was applied as an adjuvant therapy to the conventional treatment, and the most common conventional treatment was pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT). The treatment group (conventional treatment plus moxibustion) showed statistically more significant effect than the control group (conventional treatment only) in various evaluation indicators including urinary incontinence frequency, 1 hour urine pad test, quality of life, the clinical efficacy rate, and pelvic muscle strength. Conclusions: In this study, we investigated the efficacy of moxibustion as an adjuvant therapy for female SUI patients. Further studies are needed to supplement the safety of moxibustion and the evaluation of moxibustion dose.

Literature search was conducted on August 10, 2020. Results: Of the 188 studies searched, 8 studies were finally selected. In all studies, the treatment group was treated with korean medicine and the control group was treated with western medicine. Although the evaluation index was different for each study, all the indexes in the treatment group were significantly improved compared to the control group. Conclusions: Korean medicine treatment for chronic urinary tract infections had a significant effect compared to the western medicine treatment. Further high quality randomized controlled trials should be carried out to verify the strong evidence and safety of herbal medicine treatment.

So providing a clinical basis for abdominal acupuncture treatment helping to develop clinical practice guideline. Methods: Clinical studies applying acupuncture on Endometriosis were searched through Pubmed, China Academic journal (CAJ), Koreanstudies Information Service System (KISS), Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS). Interventions and results of the selected clinical studies were analyzed. Results: 8 Clinical studies were finally included according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Those were randomized controlled studies. All of those studies were searched in China Academic journal (CAJ) in Chinese. Interventions of control group were made with simple acupuncture and oral administration of Danazol or herbal medicine. Outcome measurements included Treat effect, Relief in related symptoms, and CA-125. All studies reported statistically significant results on abdominal acupuncture and there were no serious adverse effects. Conclusions: This study suggested abdominal acupuncture has statistically significant treat effect. Thus this treat helps improve quality of life for patients. • Purpose : The keeping warm and avoidance of cold are one of important Korean traditional postpartum care, but sometimes overwarm for example over-bundling, an overheated room or a steam bath cause heavy sweats. I observed and treated three patients complained of heavy sweats, chills, fatigue, malaise, cold sensation and pain caused by keeping overwarm for postpartum care. Although the symptoms have aggravated, they have maintained keeping overwarm because of a belief of Korean traditional postpartum care. The purpose of these cases studies are to report postpartum hyperhidrosis caused by keeping overwarm and to make a point of keeping the appropriate room temperature and humidity during puerperium. Methods : I observed and treated three patients complained of heavy sweats, chills, fatigue, malaise, cold sensation and pain caused by keeping overwarm for postpartum care. I found that a cause of the symptoms was hyperhidrosis by keeping overwarm, and administered herbal medicine and was to keep the appropriate room temperature. Results : After medication of Herbal medicine(補中益氣湯加味方) and keeping the appropriate room temperature, they were improved. Conclusion : Postpartum care is not to keep overwarm but to keep the appropriate room temperature and humidity.

  • Uterine myoma is benign tumor formed from muscular and connective tissues, which is one of the most common tumors found in women's reproductive organs. Uterine myoma is the most common pelvic tumor and they are diagnosed in up to15 to 20% of women in pubertal period. Although myoma is generally considered to be a slowly growing tumor, in 20-40% of women at the age of 35 and more have uterine myoma of significant sizes with severe clinical symptoms. The most common symptoms include abdominal pain or discomfort, low abdominal pressure sensation, hypermenorrhea and urinary symptoms. The treatment of uterine myoma is just observation, operation and hormone replacement therapy. We treated 6 outpatients who has uterine myoma and visited Kyungwon InCheon Oriental Hospital with Herb-medication and acupuncture. So we have gotten good result from them. After 6 outpatients had taken Guichulpazing-tang(歸朮破?湯), the symptoms were improved and the size of the uterine myoma was reduced significantly, It proves that oriental medical treatment is effective on the patients with uterine myoma, but continuous studies are needed.
