Multiple regression analyses revealed that multicultural adolescents' closeness with parents was significantly associated with lower levels of Internet addiction. Also, multicultural adolescents' awareness of Internet policies was also significantly associated with lower levels of Internet addiction. Based on the findings, this study suggested the necessity of providing parent education programs and enhancing awareness of Internet policies to reduce Internet addiction among adolescents in multicultural families.

Parental supervision has an indirect effect on drinking alcohol through TV alcohol advertisements. In multiple groups, there is a difference between the groups in the parental supervision and peer pressure, and the parental supervision and the channel coefficient of TV alcohol advertisement. In order to reduce drinking behavior, a realistic light that can cope with peer pressure is needed.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships of parental attachment and self-differentiation with fear of intimacy perceived by college students. The data of the study were collected through self-administered questionnaire method with 187 male and 159 female college students. The major results of this research were as follows. First, there were significant differences in the level of attachment with parents according to parent's marital statue, living standard, and father's education level. Second, there were significant differences in the level of self-differentiation across sex, age, parent's marital statue, living standard, and parental's education level. Third, the level of attachment with parents was positively correlated with self-differentiation, indicating that the greater the level of attachment with parents, the higher the degree of self-differentiation. Fourth, fear of intimacy was negatively associated with parental attachment and self-differentiation, showing that the greater the degree of fear of intimacy, the lower the lever of attachment with parents and self-differentiation. Finally, multiple regression analysis result reported that emotional cutoff among the four self-differentiation subscales was the most powerful variable predicting the fear of intimacy. The results were shortly discussed in terms of some implications for education and counseling with college students.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among children's perceived parental attachment, parental happiness, and children's autonomy, and to find out in detail the influence of parental attachment and parental happiness on children's autonomy. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistical analysis were performed on data from the 12th year of the Korean Children's Panel (2019), and Pearson's moment correlation coefficient was calculated for correlation analysis between variables. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the influence of parental attachment and parental happiness on children's autonomy. The research results were as follows. First, parental attachment perceived by children, parental happiness, and children's autonomy were all positively correlated. Second, among the sub-variables of parental attachment, maternal trust, paternal trust, and maternal communication were found to have an influence, and only maternal happiness was found to have an effect on parental happiness. This means that parental attachment acts as a more important variable than parental happiness. Therefore, we need constant attention and effort to support children in a more intimate and stable relationship with their parents so that they can gain life satisfaction through active and proactive choices and decisions.

The subjects were 82 college students(52 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group) in an university in Seoul. The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. The effectiveness of the program was verified by ANCOVA using the SPSS 23.0 program. Parent's autobiography consisted of prologue, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and epilogue. Each chapter of the autobiography consisted of a part of the growth narrative describing the main events of the parents and a part of the introspection narrative describing the writter's feelings. As a result of analysis, first, the parent's autobiography writing program significantly promoted parent-child relationships. • This study analyzes the effects of the self-esteem on the life satisfaction of 2,040 middle school senior students using the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2012 Data (KCYPS 2012) provided by the National Youth Policy Institute. In the ecological perspectives, this study considers two factors which influence the life satisfaction of the students; one factor is the environmental characteristics like parent intimacy, friend intimacy, teacher intimacy and study adaptation, and the other factor is the individual characteristics. In particular, self-esteem as one of the individual characteristics is divided into two separate categories, positive self and negative self. The two categories are found to have some interaction effects on the life satisfaction at the evaluation level. The effects of the negative self-evaluation on the life satisfaction appear to be different depending on the level of the positive self-evaluation. As the level of the positive self-evaluation becomes higher, the effects of the negative self-evaluation on the life satisfaction decreases. The life satisfaction becomes higher as the level of the negative self-evaluation is lower, and the life satisfaction is not high relatively at the low level of the positive self-evaluation. These results suggest that solving the adolescent's negative self-formation problem can not bring out the positive self-formation and there should be some plans for the positive self-formation more than simply solving the negative self- formation problem in order to improve the life satisfaction.

  • The predominant concern of the study consists in:(1)the positive direct effects of both individual's intimacy toward parents and individual's self-efficacy of care-giving roles on individual's care-giving commitment; (2)the positive mediating effect of individual's self-efficacy of care-giving on individual's care-giving commitment; (3)the moderating effect of the degree of unhealthy condition of individual's elderly parents on each causal relationship. For conducting this study, a survey method was used on 318 males with parents at the aged of 45-60, residing in Daegu and KyungPook. In order for subjects to verify research questions, structural equation models were explored. The findings of the study supported the direct, indirect effect and moderating effects, which suggested in research questions. Participants with unhealthy parents showed greater tendency in terms of influencing their intimacy toward parents on care giving commitment than participants with healthy parents did. The above findings claimed our attention in that provided a range of practical implication.

  • The purpose of this study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of self-esteem between attachment and depression in adolescents. The study specified theoretical assumptions based on internal working model and vulnerability model. The data were analyzed by structural equation modeling. A total of 2,058 adolescent data from 2015 Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey was used in this study. The results showed parent attachment, peer attachment, and teacher attachment did not have direct effects on adolescent depression, but have indirect effects. Self-esteem had direct and mediating effect on depression. The implications were discussed in relation to interpersonal relationships and self-esteem of adolescents for depression prevention.
