The purpose of this study is to research the reason of higher tendencies toward game addiction in the group of adolescents with highly educated parents than the group of adolescents with non-highly educated parents. The results show that the variables affecting adolescents' game addiction in the group of adolescents with highly educated parents are very different with those in the group of adolescents with non-highly educated parents. In the group of adolescents with highly educated parents, most of variables related to family function and communication types are not significantly affecting game addiction, while they are affecting in the group of adolescents with non-highly educated parents. This indicates that highly educated families might have particular family system related to stratification culture.

This research explored the importance of conflict resolution in communication between adolescents and their parents. A teaching and learning plan on communication using the Active listening, I-message method and no-lose conflict resolution method was developed and applied to teaching the 'Communication among Family Members' unit in the middle school home economics and technology textbook. The experimental class of 203 students using the active listening, I message and no-lose conflict resolution method in communication was compared with a comparative class of 163 students using only the active listening and I message method, investigating the amounts of communication, conflicts, functional communication and degree of satisfaction the students perceived regarding relationships with their parents via pre and post tests. Both groups showed significant increases in their amounts of communication and functional communication. However, only the experimental class showed an increase in their degree of relationship satisfaction with their parents. Both groups evaluated the lesson positively.

The purpose of this study is to research on how the types of father's communication were perceived by the adolescents and how the school adjustment of the adolescents according to the communication between father's and adolescents appear. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the school adjustment showed difference according to the general characteristics (adolescent's age, father's jobs) of the students surveyed. Second, the statistic correlation appeared in the relationship of the style of communication between father and adolescents and the school adjustment of the adolescents.

The aim of this study was to compare the factors influencing internet game addiction among middle and high school boys. The data was analysed from "Survey on the Online and Game and Family Leisure Activities of Youth and Children in 2009" conducted by the Korean Youth Policy Institute. According to the results, the average time on the weekends and average time on the holidays, and the leisure constraints had a significant effect on the internet game addiction both groups. On the other hand, there were significant differences in the communication with parents between middle and high school boys. Accordingly, this study suggests a preventive internet game addiction program be developed. In addition, it is important to improve efficient communication skills between children and parents.
