A Study on the Process Condition Optimization and Shear Strength of Lead Free Solder Ball (무연 솔더 볼의 전단강도와 공정조건 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • The eutectic solder Sn-37Pb and the lead free solder alloys with the compositions of Sn-0.7Cu, Sn-3.5Ag, Sn-3.5Ag-0.75Cu, Sn-2.0Ag-0.7Cu-3.0Bi were applied to the 48 BGA packages, and then it was discussed for the shear strength at the solder joints as the hardness and the composition of the small solder ball. As a result of experiments, the high degree of hardness with the displacement of 0.043 mm was obtained in Sn-2.0Ag-0.7Cu-3.0Bi. The shear strength of the lead free solder was higher than that of Sn-37Pb solder, and it can be obtained the maximum value of about 52% in Sn-2.0Ag-0.7Cu-3.0Bi.

  • In this paper, we apply the input-output linearization technique to tracking the follow-up trajectory r(t) in the ball-beam system. There exist system disturbance and various uncertainties, the conventional input-output linearization based control yields some noticeable errors in tracking performance. As a result, a new robust control technique for the uncertainty of the system was proposed and its improved performance verified through simulation and experimental results. So, more realistic system model is obtained with unmatched uncertainties and disturbance. Then, in order to improve the control performance, a new optimal bang-bang control input is additionally added.

  • We propose a novel vertical directional coupler with polarization independent very short coupling lengths using the double-sided deep-ridge waveguide structure which could be implemented using double-sided process to polarization insensitive deep-ridge waveguide structures and investigate the effect of various structure parameters on the coupling length. Variation of coupling length for the variation of the waveguide width is smaller than that for the variation of the core thickness. Coupling length decreases as the inner cladding layer thickness and the core thickness decrease. The waveguide width with the polarization independent coupling length decreases as the inner cladding layer thickness decreases for the same core thickness and the core thickness decreases for the same inner cladding layer thickness.

  • 플립칩과 같은 정밀한 전자부품을 일반적인 표면실장방법에 의해 고속으로 장착 시킬 경우에는 칩의 표면이 PCB 실장면에 닿는 순간 접촉력(Contact Force)이 크게 발생한다. 과도한 접촉력에 의해 솔더 볼의 표면에 크랙이 가거나 솔더 볼이 변형되어 좁은 피치 내에서 인접해 있는 솔더 볼이 서로 붙는다든지, 또한 리드가 손상된다든지 하는 등과 같은 현상이 발생하여 표면 실장 불량의 원인이 될 가능성이 높아진다. 또한, 유연한 재질로 구성된 PCB 실장면에 과도한 힘을 가할 시에는 실장면의 국부적인 탄성변형이 발생하여 칩의 장착위치가 변경되어 정확한 위치에의 장착이 어렵게 된다. 따라서 CSP 나 플립 칩과 같은 고정도 칩을 고속으로 정확한 위치에 실장하기 위해서는 칩을 장착할 때 플립칩과 실장면의 자세를 평형상태로 제어할 필요가 있으며, 특히 발생하는 충격을 감소시키기 위한 충격 제어와 충돌 후 일정한 접촉력 유지를 할 수 있는 힘 제어가 필수적임을 알 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 상기와 같은 자세제어 및 힘제어를 요구하는 플립 칩 장착을 위한 엑츄에이터와 거리/힘 센서 시스템을 개발하였다. 제안된 시스템의 효율성을 입증하기 위해 다양한 환경에서 성능시험을 수행하였으며, 그 결과 제안된 시스템의 만족할 만한 실험결과를 보여주었다.

Shape optimal design of a dust cover for ball joint of automotive steering system (조향장치용 볼 조인트 더스트 커버의 형상최적설계)

  • Finite element analysis is performed to evaluate stress and deformation of a wrinkle-type dust cover for the ball joints of tie rods of automotive steering system. Results of the analysis for assembly and operation condition show that sealing capability is good and the maximum stress on the body is smaller than the tensile strength. An optimal shape of the dust cover is obtained using the Taguchi method to reduce the maximum stress. The maximum stress of the optimal design under the operation condition is reduced by 22 per cent of that of the initial design. Results of the research show that performance evaluation and design of the dust covers can be effectively done using the proposed method.

  • ln this paper, flowfields inside the various rooms have been investigated. A storage room, a liv-ingroom with a kitchen in an apartment, and a hospital room are considered in the present calculations. In all cases, it was found that the average of air change rate is. similar to that of perfect mixing assumption and the location of air purifier has little effects on the average air change rate. Detailed local air concentrations show that there are regions where air is not quite purified because of non-uniform circulation of air flow. The location of air purifier has great effects on this behavior.

  • Fault detection for dynamic loading conditions of rotational machineries was considered from the contactless, non-destructive infrared thermographic method, rather than the traditional diagnosis method. In this paper, by applying a rotating deep-grooved ball bearing, passive thermographic experiment was performed as an alternative way proceeding the traditional fault monitoring. In addition, the thermographic experiments were compared with the vibration spectrum analysis to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed method. Based on the results, it was concluded the temperature characteristics of the ball bearing under dynamic loading conditions were analyzed thoroughly.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 2002년 한 일 월드컵에서 우승을 차지한 브라질의 7경기를 대상으로 축구 경기를 분석하는 것이다. 본 연구에 사용된 경기 분석용 비디오테이프는 FIFA에서 인정한 공식 중계방송사인 한국방송공사(KBS)의 중계 자료를 사용하였다. 본 연구의 통계 처리는 SPSS프로그램을 이용하여 상관관계분석(Pearson Correlation)을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 브라질 팀은 득점할 수 있는 비율이 높은 수비에서 최종공격수로 바로 연결되는 역습에 의한 공격(20.0%), 미더필드를 통한 빠른 공격(20.0%), 세트 플레이에 의한 공격(15.5%), 공격지역에서 볼을 뺏은 후 공격(18.5%)으로 다양한 공격 전술을 구사하여 상대 팀보다 많은 득점기회를 얻었다. 둘째, 브라질 팀은 골키퍼를 제외한 전 선수의 볼 소유 횟수가 비슷하게 나타나서, 전 선수가 고르게 활약했다. 경기의 질을 나타내는 지수인 인덱스에서는 수비수 중에는 중앙 수비수가 3.3, 미드필더 중에는 왼쪽 중앙 미드필더가 5.0, 공격수 중에는 중앙 공격수가 1.4로 포지션별로 제일 높게 나타나서 경기에서 중요한 역할을 수행하였다. 셋째, 브라질 팀은 세트플레이 성공률과 공격지역에서의 볼 점유율의 증가를 통하여 골당공격성공률을 높인 것으로 나타났다.

  • In this paper, we present a design and an evaluation of a hand-held ball based haptic interface, named "TouchBall." Using a trackball mechanism, the device provides flexibility in terms of directional degrees of freedom. It also has an advantage of a direct transfer of force feedback through frictional touch (with high sensitivity), thus requiring only relatively small amount of inertia. This leads to a compact hand-held design appropriate for mobile and 3D interactive applications. The device is evaluated for the detection thresholds for directions of the force feedback and the perceived amount of directional force. The refined directionality information should combine with other modalities with less sensory conflict, enriching the user experience for a given application.

Nonlinear Vibration Model of Ball Bearing Waviness in a Rigid Rotor Supported by Multi-Row Ball Bearing Considering Five Degrees of Freedom (다수의 각접촉 볼베어링으로 지지된 5자유도 회전계에서 볼베어링의 Waviness에 의해 발생하는 비선형진동 해석모델)

  • This research presents a nonlinear model to analyze the ball bearing nitration due to the waviness in a rigid rotor supported by multi-row ball bearings. The waviness of a ball and each races is modeled by the superposition of sinusoidal function, and the position vectors of inner and outer groove radius center are defined with respect to the mass center of the rotor in order to consider five degrees of freedom of a general rotor-bearing system. The waviness of a ball bearing is introduced to these position vectors to use the Hertzian contact theory in order to calculate the elastic deflection and nonlinear contact force resulting from the waviness while the rotor has translational and angular motion. They can be determined by solving the nonlinear equations of motion with five degrees of freedom by using the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg algorithm. Numerical results of this research are validated with those of prior researchers. The proposed model can calculate the translational displacement as well as the angular displacement of the rotor supported by the multi-row ball bearings with waviness. It also characterizes the nitration frequencies resulting from the various kinds of waviness in rolling elements, the harmonic frequencies resulting from the nonlinear load-deflection characteristics of ball bearing. and the sideband frequencies resulting from the waviness interaction.
