Application of An Energy-Efficient Distillation System using Three Columns to Hexane Process (3기의 증류탑을 이용한 에너지 절약형 증류탑의 헥산공정에의 응용)

  • Though a fully thermally coupled distillation column-an energy efficient distillation system-consumes less energy, it is not widely implemented in practice due to its operational difficulty. A 3-column distillation system having improved operability is proposed here, and its energy saving performance and application related issues are investigated from the implementation result to a practical hexane process. When an energy integration is employed, the proposed system requires 18% less energy than a conventional 2-column system, which is found from the HYSYS simulation. Though more control loops than the 2-column system are required, the proposed system has better controllability of product compositions and the pressure control of the system is easier.

  • Fuel conservation and environmental pollution control are the principal motivating factors that are urging at present widespread research and development activities for electric hybrid vehicles throughout the world. The paper describes different possible energy storage devices, such as battery, flywheel and ultra capacitor, and power sources, such as gasoline engine, diesel engine, gas turbine and fuel cell for next generation hybrid electric vehicle. The technology trend and comparison in energy storage and power devices indicate that battery and gasoline engine, respectively will remain the most viable devices for hybrid vehicle at least in the near future.

  • The Dish/Stirling system with the Stirling engine is currently used to convert solar energy directly to electrical energy successful operation of dish/Stirling system is supported by hybrid system, which will allow continuous operation driven by solar and combustion heat ins. The hybrid Receiver has to be provided with an additional combustion system. The heat pipe receiver and conbustion system were manufactured and tested for thermal characteristics of receiver. Maximum temperature difference along the heat pipe surface is $200^{\circ}C$. Emission measurements showed low NOx values of 28 to 46 ppm and very high CO values of 18 to 201 ppm.

  • 석탄가스화 공정과 복합발전 사이클을 결합한 IGCC 발전 시스템은 기존의 석탄연소 발전방식에 비해 열효율이나 공해배출 문제 등에서 월등히 우수한 특성을 가지므로 차세대 발전개념으로 크게 각광받고 있다. 이러한 이유로 선진공업국들은 70년대 석유 파동이래 IGCC 기술을 중점 개발하여 왔고, 머지않아 상업화에 도달할 전망이다. 국내적으로도 전기수요량의 급격한 증가와 엄격한 환경규제 등의 현실적 요인으로 인해 IGCC 발전에 관심이 집중되고 있으며, 이와 더불어 우리실정에 맞는 IGCC 공정기술의 개발이 시급한 실정이다.

  • IGCC (석탄가스화 복합발전) 시스템 공정 중 가스화기에서 발생되는 합성가스 내에는 높은 농도의 분진들이 함유되어 있기 때문에 하부 공정들을 보호하기 위해서는 가스화기 후단에 집진장치가 필히 설치되어야 한다. 집진장치의 설계 제작 운전에 있어서 점착성 분진층 부착,분진 브리징, 필터 파손 현상 등과 같은 다양한 문제점들로 인하여 고온의 합성가스를 처리하는 데는 아직 기술적 한계들이 산재해 있는 상황이다. 이와 같은 문제점들은 필터에 부착된 분진층의 탈진성능을 향상시키거나, 필터의 열피로를 줄일 수 있도록 필터 재생을 위한 탈진의 횟수를 줄이는 방법을 통하여 해결될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 파일롯 규모의 IGCC용 세라믹캔들필터 집진장치에서의 가스 유입 및 탈진 조건에 따른 집진장치의 차압 특성 변화를 수치해석과 실험을 통하여 분석함으로써 탈진성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 조건과 탈진 횟수를 최소화시킬 수 있는 방안을 도출하고자 하였다.

  • In this paper, a system of falling weight impact tester was built up to evaluate the impact energy absorbing characteristics and impact strength of CFRP laminate plates in consideration of stress wave propagation theory. Delamination area of impacted specimens for the different ply orientation was measured with ultrasonic C-scanner to find correlation between impact energy and delamination area. Absorbed energy of quasi-isotropic specimen having four interfaces was higher than that of orthotropic laminates with two interfaces. The more interfaces, the more absorbed energy. Hybrid specimen containing GFRP layer was higher than that of normal specimens.

  • Schools are one of favorable public buildings for Renewable Energy(RE) systems due to site conditions and their energy demand profiles(e.g. daytime-based use of hot water and heating/cooling). Although the government encourages schools to be equipped with RE systems, the adoption of RE systems in existing energy supply systems faces technical and financial barriers. For example, when installing a RE-based combination system(RECS) to meet the energy demand at various school scales, identifying cost effective combination of capacities of the RECS is not trivial since it usually requires technically intensive work including detailed simulation and demand/supply analysis with extensive data. This kind of simulation-based approaches is hardly implementable in practice. To address this, a simpler and applicable decision-supporting method is suggested in this study. This paper presents a simplified model in support of decision-making for optimal capacities of RECS within given budget scales and schools sizes. The proposed model was derived from detailed simulation results and statistical data. Using this model, the optimal capacities of RECS can be induced from the number of classes in a school.

  • 신재생에너지의 보급이 증가하면서 기존의 시스템과 신규 설치되는 시스템을 원격지에서 효율적으로 관리하는 모니터링 기술이 필수가 되었다 이들 모니터링 기술에는 발전 출력량과 기상조건 등의 복합적 요소 모니터링 기술이 필요하다. 다중 채널을 이용하여 모니터링 하는 기법은 통신속도와 S/W, H/W에 따라 각각여러가지 방법이 있으며 최대채널의 제한, 가격적인 부분까지 많은 부분을 고려해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 기존수행하고 있는 모니터링 기술을 분석하여 신재생에너지 시스템에 적합한 다중채널 모니터링 기법을 제안하고자한다.
