The purpose of this study is to explore the standards and directions of professional competency and proficiency of social workers in Korea through a review of British cases. In particular, in the face of a super-aged society, this study aimed to improve the proficiency of social workers in the field of elderly welfare in Korea by examining the complacency and proficiency standards of the British Association of Social Workers and the Health Care Professionals Council related to the care of the elderly. With the structure of a Professional Capabilities Framework, the UK promotes the acquisition of competency-based qualifications by specifically presenting the competency of social workers at each stage of qualification. In addition, general and detailed standards of proficiency of social workers in the care field are presented at each qualification stage. In order to improve the competence and proficiency of Korean social workers through a case study in the UK, this study presented the need for a standard that connects "common competencies, professional competencies, and proficiency of social welfare professionals." This study also suggested the necessity of the role of Social Welfare Education Association and Association of Social Workers for this purpose

This study aimed to build up the concept of culture welfare. For this purpose, we analyzed the practitioners' understanding about culture welfare in culture and social welfare by Modified Grounded Theory Approach. The results showed that the practitioners did not understand the concept of culture welfare clearly, and revealed being in confusion. Their understandings about culture welfare were classified into five types, 1) a type denying a terminology, culture welfare itself, 2) a type without awareness about culture welfare, 3) a type regarding culture welfare as sub realm in the special domain of culture and social welfare, 4) a type undividing and integrating culture and social welfare, 5) a type recognizing an independent domain of culture welfare. But despite of large deviation like this, the practitioners were common to give emphasis on giving opportunities to everyone in the enjoyment of culture, for heightening the quality of life. Summing up, culture welfare is defined as 'all direct and indirect effort in culture and arts, in a narrow sense to economical vulnerable class, and in a broad sense to everyone, to raise cultural susceptibility, creative thinking, and potential competence for realization a life worthy of man. The significance of this study is in establishment the definite and practical concept of culture welfare through a deep analysis the practitioners' understanding. This will give the theoretical basis to the study and the development of various programs in culture welfare.

The study looked into the effect of internet utilization (utilization frequency and utilization ability in internet) on the life satisfaction level for the elderly in depth. In order to verify the correlation of two variables, a mediating model structured by ego integrity was used which gave out the Seoul welfare panel data created by Seoul welfare foundation in 2010. The total sample size was a group of 1862 elders aged over 60. When it came to our research methods, structured equation analysis was applied to verify the mediating effect and theoretical background. The findings are as follows: First, elderly's utilization frequency in internet is not an influencing factor to life satisfaction and elderly's utilization ability in internet is an influencing factor to life satisfaction. Second, the level of social activity did function as partial mediator on relationship between elderly's utilization ability in internet and life satisfaction. This study indicates theoretical and practical interventions to promote elderly's utilization in internet.

The purpose of this study is to examine how working environments and psychological empowerment of the employed people with mental illness influencing their job satisfaction. This research was conducted with 326 the employed people with mental illness working for the competitive employment. The result of study appeared their job satisfaction was estimated in order of psychological empowerment, supervisor's support, participative climate, and compensation system. This research has its meaning in that it dealt with psychological work environments taking into consideration characteristics of the people with mental illness for the first time. And this research was significant in demonstrating that the concept of psychological empowerment is the most important notion to explain job satisfaction of the people with mental illness as well as general workers.

Objective: Covid-19 is changing many aspects of child care programs. The objective of this study was to explore how the pandemic and mitigation efforts affected the experiences and practices at child care centers in the summer of 2020. Methods: Focus group interviews and mobile surveys were conducted with principals and teachers of child care centers in August and September 2020. Descriptive statistics including frequency distributions, means and standard deviations and mean differences were used to analyze the survey data with SPSS 22.0. Results: It was found that each sector of child care settings experienced different difficulties and had various needs. Young children's lack of energy, child care teachers' workload and stress, and principles' efforts to interrupt transmission of the infectious disease based on insufficient government guideline and supports were revealed as the main experiences. Conclusion/Implications: The Covid-19 pandemic has had a tandem of influences on daily life at child care centers. As policy makers consider additional guidelines or supports measures to prevent the infection and spread of Covid-19 at child care centers, long-term as well as short-term plans at various levels should be considered to meet the unique needs of child care programs.

The purpose of this study is to verify whether the types of welfare attitudes are classified according to the welfare regimes. Specifically, this study tried to confirm whether the satisfaction and needs of the role of government for inequality reduction are divided into welfare regimes. For the purpose, this study conducted a comparative analysis of 24 European countries using the 6th European Social Survey (2012) and the Eurostat data. The main results of the analysis are summarized as follows. First, there is a difference in the satisfaction and needs of the role of government for the inequality reduction among the welfare regimes. Generally, the satisfaction is high in the Nordic countries, while the needs is high in the southern and eastern European countries. Second, there is a correlation that the country where the per capita welfare expenditure level is high and the redistribution effect is strong have high level of the satisfaction. Third, the types of welfare attitudes are classified according to the welfare regimes. In particular, the Nordic countries are converging into a cluster with low needs and high satisfaction. These countries have high level of social spending and strong redistributive effects. This study suggested policy implications based on the above results.

This study set out to investigate the effects of individual motivation on turnover intention among social workers and examine their turnover intentions in details by focusing on the mediation effects of multiple commitment. To be specific, it aimed to propose and test a prediction model for social workers' turnover intentions based on the Self-determination Theory and Theory of Planned Behavior. For those purposes, a mail survey was taken among social workers working for use facilities, residential facilities, public health centers, social welfare foundations and associations, and all kinds of centers and institutions in 15 cities and provinces across the nation. Total 1,918 questionnaires were distributed, and 1,671 ones were returned, and 979 whose respondents expressed a turnover intention were used in final analysis. The analysis results indicate that psychological motivation of social workers had direct impacts on their turnover intention. However, their role stress had no direct impacts on their turnover intention, which suggests that the impulsive routes model for turnover intention is supported only in psychological motivation and job characteristics. Secondly, their psychological and job motivation turned out to have indirect impacts on turnover intention through the multiple commitment, which suggests that the reflective routes model for turnover intention is supported in all career, job, and organizational commitment. Career commitment had the most significant impacts on turnover intention, being followed by job commitment and organizational commitment in the order, which suggests that the social welfare academy should increase their interest in career commitment. This purpose of this study was to explore the implication of the social work practice through the experiences of the users who participated in the crisis support program. To do this, In-depth interviews were carried out with 12 research participants. The data was analyzed by general qualitative research methods. As a result of analysis, prior to participating in the Triangle Project, users lost their will to live in a vicious cycle of life crisis. Through the participation of the service, they were able to receive the integrated support of 'pregnancy - childbirth - rearing'. These experiences ultimately led to the regeneration of the will to live. Based on the results of this study, we suggest practical and policy implications that can complement the limitation of Korean unwed mothers' support system.

This study is to deeply investigate the process experience of making the local organization with the supervisors and the social workers-in-field with the research question, 'how is the project process of community building leaded by community welfare centers'. For this, 6 community welfare centers were selected among 22 ones participated in the public contest of Seoul Welfare Foundation, and 15 line workers including the top supervisors working there were selected as the research participants and interviewed. The interview source materials of research participants were analyzed using the method of consistent comparison of Strauss and Corbin(1996). According to the result of the research, the project process of community building leaded by community welfare centers indicated 4 phases such as 'the step of change of recognition', 'the step of mutual communication', 'the step of cooperation expansion', and 'initiative construction'. With the result of this study, I supposed political and practical tasks for promoting that local residents voluntarily build the community and the change of paradigm that is community welfare centers for local residents. Also, this study will be relevant that the result of this study is offered as base line data for extending theoretical and practical discussion about building community depending on characteristic of community and community welfare centers.

This study focused on the relationship between elderly's participation in lifelong education(participation availability, participating fields) and ego integrity. To verify the correlation of two variables, mediating model structured by life satisfaction was used. The data was Seoul Welfare Panel Data made by Seoul Welfare Foundation in 2010 and the total subject was 1,862 elderly aged over 60. When it comes to research methods, structured equation analysis for verifying the mediating effect was practiced. The findings are as follows: First, life satisfaction did function as partial mediator on relationship between elderly's participation in lifelong education and ego integrity. Second, elderly's life satisfaction increased as participating in field of language, not in field of culture and art. Ego integrity of elderly was increased as participating in field of culture and art, not in field of self-improvement and hobby. This study indicates theoretical and practical interventions to promote elderly's lifelong education based on the conclusion elderly's lifelong education participation in the aging society has positive effects on life satisfaction and ego integrity are meaningful for successful aging.
