Inhibition of Con A-induced Iymphocyte proliferation by peritoneal exudate of Toxoplasma gondii-infected mice (톡소포자충 감염 마우스 복수액에 의한 Con A 유도 림프구 증식 억제효과)

  • The presence of biological response modifiers (BRMI-like effect was confirmed in peritoneal exudate (PE) of ToxopLnsmo gondii-infected ICR mice which inhibited Concanavalin A (Con A)-induced peritoneal Iymphocyte (PL) proliferation. During 5 days of PL incubation with $10{\;}\mu\textrm{g}/ml$ Con A with or without PE, 3H-thymidine uptake was measured for the last 24 hrs. Compared to uninduced control, PL proliferated by 7.3-fold with Con A induction_ When PE of infected mice was added, PL proliferation was inhibited by $74.0{\;}{\pm}{\;}11.9%$ whereas inhibition by PE of normal mice was $16.4{\;}{\pm}8.3%$. Inhibitory effect of PE increased exponentially from 3 days up to 4-5 days of survival after the infection. Inhibitory activity of PE was decreased concentration-dependently. Also the inhibition was diminished when the PE was treated with heat of $95^{\circ}C$ for 10 min orprecipitated with 10% trichloroacetic acid (TCA). In SDS-PAGE of PE, many minor bands appeared newly. Heat-labile protein molecule in PE exerted inhibitory activity to Con A- induced Iymphocyte proliferation.

  • Ripple Down Rules(RDR)이론은 지식베이스시스템을 지식공학구축기술 또는 지식공학자의 도움 없이 특수분야전문가에 의해 효율적으로 유지보수, 구축되어진다. 특히 시스템의 운용 중 지식베이스의 수정을 효율적으로 처리할 수 있다. 본 논문은 단일결론을 생성하는 RDR이론의 확장인 복수(複數)결론(multiple classification)을 유도하는 MCRDR이론에 대하여 설명한다. MCRDR은 복잡한 복수결론을 허락하면서 RDR이론의 최대 장점인 지식베이스의 간편한 유지보수 기증을 유지한다. MCRDR의 KA과정, 기초케이스 문제해결방법, 그리고 복수결론 추론문제에 대하여 논할 것이다. MCRDR시스템의 우수성을 모의전문가를 이용한 시스템 수축과 실험으로 증명해 보일 것이다. 이 실험을 통하여 복수결론을 지원하는 MCRDR이론이 단일결론을 지원하는 RDR이론을 통하여 효율적으로 증명하고, 또한 기존의 기계학습방법과의 차이점도 보여줄 것이다.

  • 주어진 계획량을 최소의 비용으로 생산하는 것이 제조 공장의 최대 관심사이다. 단일 공장의 경우 제품의 종류에 따른 최적의 생산량만을 결정하면 되지만, 복수의 공장의 경우 각 공장에 따라 제품별 생산원가의 차이가 발생하기 때문에 복수의 공장일 경우 단일 공장과 같이 간단하게 제품별 최적 생산량을 결정할 수 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 몇 가지 현실적인 가정 하에 복수의 공장에서 제품별 최적 생산량을 결정하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 즉 현재 생산이 가능하지만 현실적인 조건으로 인하여 생산하지 않는 제품의 생산 원가를 추정하고, 이를 바탕으로 각 공장별로 제품의 최적 생산량을 결정하는 문제에 대한 모델을 제시하였다.

  • 우리나라 해산어류양식의 중요양식품종인 조피볼락은 양식년수가 증가됨에 따라 양성과정 중에 여러 가지 폐사 유형을 동반하고 있다. 최근 남해안 가두리에서는 수면을 부유하는 등 이상유영을 동반한 복수증예가 연중 산발적으로 발생하고 있으며, 특히 수온이 15$^{\circ}C$ 이하로 떨어지는 10월에서 이듬해 2월에 걸친 저수온기에 다발하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 복수증은 부종 소견의 하나로, 체강 내에 체액이 고이는 증상으로서 세균 및 바이러스 감염병을 중심으로 각종 어류 질병에서 동반되고 있으나, 복수증에 대한 이해는 부족한 실정이다.   • The aim of this report is to compare quantitatively computed radiography (CR) and screen-film radiography (SFR) in the detection of peritoneal effusion in dogs. Normal four beagle dogs and one Maltese dog were used. Each five CR and SFR abdominal images of right lateral and ventro-dorsal position were obtained after lodge of 6 ml, 8 ml, 12 ml, 15 ml, and 18 ml of normal saline by intraperitoneal injection within the abdomen. The reviewers were asked to evaluate each SFR and CR images for the presence of peritoneal effusion using the score by the presence of a peritoneal effusion on a five-point ordinal scale. A receiver operating curve (ROC) analysis compared the two imaging modalities. The present study showed that there was no statistical difference between SFR and CR in the detecting peritoneal effusion, but CR was relatively more sensitive based on the increased area under its ROC analysis. Moreover, Readers were more likely to detect peritoneal effusion on CR images than SFR.

Phylogenetic study of the section Adonanthe of genus Adonis L. (Ranunculaceae) based on ITS sequences (ITS 염기서열에 의한 복수초속 복수초절(미나리아재비과)의 계통분류학적 연구)

  • DNA sequences of nrITS regions obtained from 49 accessions representing 12 species and one variety within the section Adonanthe of the genus Adonis were analyzed to test the previous intra-sectional classification system and to determine their phylogenetic relationships. The results showed that the seven accessions of A. amurensis Regel et Radde included in the present study did not form a monophyletic group, as some of the accessions showed a close relationship with the Japanese endemic species A. ramosa Franch., which implies that the current species delimitation and identification of A. amurensis is problematic. Adonis pseudoamurensis W. T. Wang, which is frequently misidentified as A. ramosa in Korea, formed a segregated group, which suggests that they should not be considered as conspecific taxa. Accessions from A. shikokuensis Nishikawa et Koji Ito, A. multiflora Nishikawa et Koji Ito, and A. pseudoamurensis formed a clade, but monophyly of each species was not evident. The nrITS data did not support the classification system proposed by Wang, who classified sect. Adonanthe into four series, as most of these were found to be either polyphyletic or paraphyletic.

  • During this study, number of fan by ambient air temperature that condenser pressure satisfies steam turbine exhaust pressure condition with intervals of $3^{\circ}C$ within the 150 MW thermal power plant site temperature range of $-17.1^{\circ}C$ to $36.7^{\circ}C$ was reviewed. An air cooled condenser changes its operating pressure influenced by cooling air circulation amount by atmospheric temperature and number of fan. For stable power plant operation, these were confirmed to maximize a quantity of air-cooled condenser fans at above or equal from design ambient temperature and to reduce an amount of circulating air to an air cooled condenser by depending on a quantity of fan considering exhaust pressure operation condition of a steam turbine at below design ambient temperature.

  • Recently, the number of students who get double majors has tended to increase in many universities. As results, many problems occur because immoderate inflow of double-major students is concentrated in a specific popular department. In this paper, we study the characteristic of inflow and outflow of double majors using social network analysis and decision tree analysis. According to the results, SAT score affected the inflow of double majors the most. Additionally, department category, course evaluation score, employment rate also affected the inflow of double majors in the order named. On the other hand, department category affected the outflow of double majors the most. Additionally, SAT score, employment rate, course evaluation score also affected the outflow of double majors in the order named.

Analysis of Effect and Prognostic Factors Associated with Catheter Intervention on Ascites in Terminal Cancer Patient (복수가 있는 말기 암환자에서 복수 배액관 시술의 효과와 예후요인 분석)

  • Purpose: Malignant ascites is a common complication in terminal cancer patients. Less-invasive pigtail catheter insertion is the most frequent procedure in patients who need repeated ascites drainage. This study investigated effects and adverse events associated with catheter insertion for ascites drainage and evaluated prognostic outcomes. Methods: We reviewed medical records between 2010 and 2013 of hospice and palliative care institutions in Seoul, South Korea. Among 2,608 inpatients, 67 patients received ascites pigtail catheter drainage. We reviewed demographic data, palliative performance scale, laboratory data, duration of catheter insertion, prevalence and type of complications, use and duration of antibiotics, and survival time. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression models were used to evaluate prognostic outcomes related with catheter insertion. Results: Ascites drainage was performed most commonly in hepatobiliary and gastric cancer patients. Ascites symptoms improved in 55 patients after the catheter drainage. Adverse events included pain (19.4%), leakage (14.9%), disconnection (7.5%), catheter occlusion (6%) and fever (4.5%). In Cox regression analysis, survival time from the catheter insertion was significantly associated with Palliative Performance Scale (PPS) (HR 0.73; P value 0.045) and serum sodium level (HR 2.77; P value 0.003) in a multivariate model. Conclusion: Patients' PPS and serum sodium level should be considered before making a decision of pigtail catheter insertion.

  • Multiple sequence alignment is a useful tool to identify the relationships among protein sequences. Dynamic programming is the most widely used algorithm to obtain multiple sequence alignment with optimal cost. However, dynamic programming cannot be applied to certain cost function due to its drawback and cannot be used to produce optimal multiple sequence alignment. We propose sub-alignment refinement algorithm to overcome the problem of dynamic programming. Also we show proposed algorithm can solve the problem of dynamic programming efficiently.
