A Study on the Feasibility of Installing Solar Auxiliary Power for Small Fishing Boats (태양광 보조전원을 설치한 소형선박의 타당성 연구)

  • The South Korean fishing industry is experiencing a rapid growth owing to an increase in its leisure-fishing population. Consequently, fishing boats weighing 9-10 [ton] have also been increasing. Current fishing boats operate their essential equipment by switching their engines with batteries to reduce the cost of gas and engine noise. However, stranding incidents have been increasingly recorded annually, in which boats fail to start owing to discharged batteries, and these incidents can lead to serious casualties. This study proposes the installation of a solar auxiliary power system to safeguard fishing boats, particularly those weighing between 9-10 [ton]. The feasibility of securing space for the solar auxiliary power of boats under consideration was verified. To examine the application of solar power, this study calculates the load necessary to operate it for fishing and models such a system using an electricity analysis program The modeled system, which applies the monthly horizontal solar insolation, validated the adoption of a solar auxiliary power in fishing boats.

  • 이미 상당부분 CAD시스템이 사용되고 있는 건축설계 분야는 새로운 전환기를 맞이하고 있다. 제도보조도구로서의 컴퓨터가 일반화되어 널리 확산되어가는 반면 진정한 전산보조설계를 위한 새로운 시도와 연구가 각 분야에서 시작되고 있다는 것이다. 이러한 활발한 움직임의 바탕에는 컴퓨터에 대한 사회적인 인식의 변화가 흐르고 있으며 되돌릴 수 없는 발전의 역사를 감지할 수 있다. 따라서 새롭게 다가오는 변화를 보다 능동적으로 수용하기 위해서는 기반이 되는 분야별 CAD/CAE를 점검하고 엔지니어링데이타베이스를 구축해 나가는 것이 현재 건축설계 분야에서 시도해야 할 중요한 일이다. 특히 엔지니어링데이타베이스의 경우 하나의 사무소에서 단독으로 구축하는 것은 불가능한 일이므로 학회나 유관단체 등의 선도적 역할에 힘입어 업계에서 공동으로 구축하고 활용하는 방안이 조속히 논의되기를 기대한다.

  • 본 논문은 펄스 삽입 보조 회로를 갖고 있는 12-펄스 브리지 4대를 사용한 36-펄스 back-to-back 전압원 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안된 back-to-back 접압원 컨버터는 교류 연계점에서 유효전력과 무효전력의 독립적인 제어가 가능하다. 펄스 수를 증가하는 원리는 이론적 접근을 사용하여 분석되었다. 제안된 시스템의 동작 타당성은 PSCAD/EMTDC 소프트웨어의 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증되었다. 제안된 back-to-back 전압원 컨버터는 HVDC와 FACTS 장치로 널리 사용될 수 있다.

Performance Analysis on the Ejector System in Flue-gas Discharge Channel of Marine Incinerator (소각기의 배기가스 유로에 이젝터를 적용한 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • The International Maritime Organization(IMO) could try to adopt more severe amendment to prevent any air pollution from various waste materials by marine incinerator. This study is to analyse the performance improvement through Ansys CFD about new invented system which has three flue-gas discharge channels and sub-ejector installed in the dischage channel in order to evacuate flue-gas well from the combustion chamber. The results showed that the discharge temperature of flue-gas was below the regulated value of IMO by the multi-channels, and the sub-ejector system installed in the discharge channel was highly effective one to improve the flue-gas discharge ability.

  • In this paper, we design an intelligent agent system with the data mining module and information fusion module as the core components of the system and investigate the possibility for the medical expert system. In the data mining module, fuzzy neural network, OFUN-NET analyzes multi-view data and produces fuzzy cluster knowledge base. In the information fusion module and application module, they serve the diagnosis result with possibility degree and useful information for diagnosis, such as uncertainty decision status or detection of asymmetry. We also present the experiment results on the BI-RADS-based feature data set selected form DDSM benchmark database. They show higher classification accuracy than conventional methods and the feasibility of the system as a computer aided diagnosis system.

  • The in-situ Compaction test using sand cone (RC) and Plate Bearing Capacity Test (PBT) has been widely used for evaluating the subgrade and subbase condition on the pavement system. However, because the in-situ RC and PBT test are expensive and take plenties of time for operation, these are very difficult to figure out the in-situ characteristics of subgrade and subbase strength in detail. Therefore, for faster and economical operation, this study is to compare the Light Falling Weight Tests and propose the LFWD test as the in-situ Compaction test. This study suggests the relationship between in-situ RC value, $K_{30}$, $M_R$ and $E_{LFWD}$ of the subgrade and subbase materials in Korea using the laboratory and in-situ testing.

  • This study analyzed the optimal routes of auxiliary vehicles in an open-pit mine that need to traverse the entire mine through many working points. Unlike previous studies which usually used the Dijkstra's algorithm, this study utilized a heuristic algorithm for the Traveling Salesman Problem(TSP). Thus, the optimal routes of auxiliary vehicles could be determined by considering the visiting order of multiple working points. A case study at the Pasir open-pit coal mine, Indonesia was conducted to analyze the travel route of an auxiliary vehicle that monitors the working condition by traversing the entire mine without stopping. As a result, we could know that the heuristic TSP algorithm is more efficient than intuitive judgment in determining the optimal travel route; 20 minutes can be shortened when the auxiliary vehicle traverses the entire mine through 25 working points according to the route determined by the heuristic TSP algorithm. It is expected that the results of this study can be utilized as a basis to set the direction of future research for the system optimization of auxiliary vehicles in open-pit mines.

  • This paper presents the characteristics for ground impedance of combined three rods according to distance of current probe and frequency using the fall-of-potential method and the testing techniques to minimize the measuring errors are proposed. The fall-of-potential method is theoretically based on the potential and current measuring principle and the measuring error is primarily caused by the position of auxiliary probes. In order to analyze the effects of ground impedance due to the distance of the current probe and frequency, ground impedances were measured in case that the distance of current probe was located from 5[m] to 20[m] and the measuring frequency was ranged in 55~513[Hz]. The results could be help to determine the position of current probe and the measuring frequency when the ground impedance was measured at grounding system.
