  • A poor achievement of basic competency leads to obstacles of the same subject and other subjects from a series of accumulative losses and social life. The Grade 3 National Diagnostic Assessment of Basic Competency (NDAHC) dated from 2002, Teaching Plan Responsible to Basic Competency and compensational education materials for students of the below-basic level has marked a line in the chain of policy to realize educational welfare. The goal of NDABC is to collect information of the reason with regard to learning deficiency and individual student's information, and ultimately teach them on the basis of those informations. This study analyzed the characteristics of below-basic students in the basic mathematics with data from NDABC from 2003 to 2007. Students of the below-basic level were affected in achievement by numerical distinction, regrouping, arrangement and descriptive form of item, information-providing way, typical example, familiarity, frequency in use in daily life etc. This study provides a basic important information with regard to teaching below-basic students and suggestions with compensational education materials for them.

  • The Ministry of Education has serviced nationwide the diagnosis-supplement system for basic academic skills for elementary and middle schools since 2013. The purpose of this paper is to propose an improvement plans of the diagnosis-supplement system by analysing system utilization status, 2015 and requirements of teachers and experts. For this study, over three times the taking rates and achievement rates were analyzed and the interviews and consultations of teachers and professionals were also analyzed. In conclusion, we proposed the improvement plans of the diagnosis-supplement system for the each of teachers and students.

  • In this Paper, we suggest the effective pre-correction algorithm on sensor values and the classification algorithm for gesture recognition that use values for each axis of the accelerometer to send data(a number or specific input data) to device. we know that creation of reliable preprocessed data in experimental results through the error rate of X-Axis and Y-Axis for pre-correction and post-correction. we can show high recognition rate through recognizer using the normalization and classification algorithm for the preprocessed data.

  • It is undeniably important to bring up a solution capability of arithmetic word problems in the elementary mathematical education. The goal of this study is to acquire the implication for remedial instruction on arithmetic word problems solving through surveying elementary school students' difficulties in the solving of arithmetic word problems. In order to do it, this study was intended to analyze the following two aspects. First, it was analyzed that they generally felt more difficulties in which field among addition, subtraction, multiplication and division word problems. Second, with the result of the first analysis, it was examined that they solved it by imagining as which sphere of the other word problems. Also, the cause of their error on the word problem solving was analyzed by the interview. From the foregoing analyses, the following implications for remedial instruction on arithmetic word problems solving are acquired. First, the accumulation of learning deficiency must be diminished through the remedial instruction. Second, it must help students to understand the given problem and to make of what the goal of problem is. Third, it must help students to form a good habit for reading the problem and to understand the context of problem. forth, the teacher must help students to review and reflect their problem-solving processes.

  • The demand for recognizing the color as well as the object shape is increasing to use the detailed information, because-the expense of color input/output devices become cheap. The research on the color correction should be researched for the exact color presentation and color reproduction of color input/output systems. In this paper, we researched on the color correction of color scanner. The characterization of color scanner is a two step process of gray-balancing and color transformation. The decoupling of the gray-balancing from the color transformation enables the portability of the scanner characterization. We used the least square methods for the line fitting and the Neural Network for the storage space and computation speed. The output of Neural Network is similar to the target value in three-dimensional tristimulus space. The proposed color correction method can be used for all scanners of a manufacturer's model because of the portability.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify affordance usability problems and to improve an interface on the Web-based Diagnosis-Supplement system from learner's perspective in order to promote to be utilized as an user-friendly system. To address those goals, user testings with 6 students from 4th grade of the primary school and 3rd grade of the middle school were conducted and the firstly improved prototypes were suggested. Then, the suggested prototypes were reviewed by experts and finalized. This study has an implication on the methodology of the usability study by evaluating the system through the Hartson's 3 affordance theory. In addition, it contributes to improving pedagogical effects by the fixing serious affordance usability problems related to main tasks of the system such as the test questions and score visualization and matching between system and real world.

  • On March 2011, an annual salary plan was applied to new faculty members in National Colleges and Universities. In 2015, all tenured faculty members will receive salaries based on annual performance evaluations. The efforts and accomplishments of faculty are normally assessed according to a standard formula of 40% teaching, 40% research and 20% service. In almost all colleges and universities, student course evaluations may be considered as the only measure of the perceived quality of the courses offered by the faculty member. The mandatory course evaluations are becoming prevalent in Korea. The results of course evaluations do not reflect the fairness and the appropriateness of the quality of the course taught by the faculty member and should not be considered under the teaching evaluation criteria.

  • This paper deals with disparities in course evaluation between general and major courses of mathematics education. We provide concrete evidences which verify the mismanagement of the evaluation system and can be an impetus to a more rational one. We indicate the direction to which professors of mathematics education should head. Also those statistics obtained from the author's teaching of mathematics education and related subjects for twelve years are provided for the fact-finding of and improving the erroneous evaluation system.

  • As the education and training is such a virtual environment is applied to various fields, its usability is endless. However, there is an underestimation of the depth of perception in the training environment. In order to solve this problem, we tried to solve the problem by applying the top-down correction method. However, it is difficult to classify the result as a learning effect or perception change. In this study, it was confirmed that the proportion of spatial components of urine had a significant effect on the depth perception, and it was confirmed that the size perception were corrected together. In this study, we propose a correction method using spatial component and depth perception to improve the accuracy of depth perception.
