Effects of Host plant, Nectar plant and Vegetation types on Butterfly Communities (먹이식물·흡밀식물·식생이 나비 군집에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of number of host plants and nectar plants on the number and diversity of butterflies were monitored and analyzed by simple and multiple regression from May 2008 to Sep 2009 in the Bubjusa region (Mt. Sokri, Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do), which was divided into four regions. The results demonstrate that the number of butterflies has a positive correlation with the number of host plant species, the number of nectar plant species, and the number of host plants multiple regression analysis. The number of butterflies also increased habitat area. However, the butterfly species number and diversity index showed lower correlation with the number of host plants and the area size of the divided region, respectively, when analyzed by simple regression. In addition, increased species diversity in a region with more diverse plant flora. These results suggest that the composite distribution of host and nectar plants with diverse plant flora is required for butterfly diversity and population preservation. Additionally, it also suggest that vegetation types complementarity all factors.

Analysis of Genetic Relation among Collected Landraces of Agrimonsa pilosa L. Using RAPD (RAPD를 이용한 짚신나물(Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb.) 수집종 유연관계 분석)

  • Agromonia pilosa Ledeb. has been used as a medicinal plant in traditional folk remedy. There are few reports on classification, physiology, ecology and morphological studies of Agromonia pilosa L. in Korea. Therefore, advanced approaches on study and development with this plant would be done urgently. Present stndy was carried out to gain basic information on genetic resources and variation with collected domestic landraces through RAPD analysis in Agromonia pilosa L. Forty two collections of Agromonia pilosa L. from nation-wide area including USA one were analyzed by RAPD test. Molecular marker size by amplified DNA band pattern ranged from 300 to 2,100bp. Among the collection, two landraces of Hadong and Cheonghak-dong showed close relation in genetic similarity. Minimum and maximum value by matrix of 1-F among 26 collected landraces were figured out as 0.365 and 0.827 showing mean value for 0.624, respectively. Those landraces were classified into two groups with cluster analysis by Nei and Li's formula from RAPD-analyzed values, and considerable genetic differences were recognized between two groups.

  • The purpose of the study is finding the effective teaching and learning methods on the concepts of figures through exploring the change of students' cognitive structures before and after the peer teaching activities. The difference of the peer teacher's and student's cognitive structures was investigated for the activities. Three teams, six students of 5th grade, were selected from the S elementary school in Boyeon. To figure out the students' cognitive structures, pre and post in-depth interviews were conducted and analyzed. Both peer teachers' and learners' cognitive structures were changed. Peer teachers' cognitive structures were changed more positively than peer learners. A consistent systematic planation and continuous teacher support and effort are needed for the activities.

The Associated Domains of Job Stress for the Depression among Local Public Officials (지방공무원의 우울에 영향을 미치는 직무 스트레스 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the level of job stress and depression, and to find the associated domains of job stress with depression among local public officials. The study subjects consist of 734 local public officials in Seogu, Gwang Ju. A structure self-reported questionnaire was composed of general and job-related characteristics, job stress(KOSS), and depression(CES-D). The use statistical methods were t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis. The total score of job stress was $44.38{\pm}7.96$ and the score of depression was $14.46{\pm}10.19$. The result of multiple logistic regression analysis was shown that the three domains of job stress including job demand, job insecurity and lack of reward were associated with the depression.

Preliminary Report of Archaeological Survey in Limestone Caves at Gangwon and GyeongBuk provinces (강원 및 경북지역의 석회암동굴 고고학조사 예보)

  • Archaeological survey has been carried out to find some evidence of human occupation in 31 caves in Pyeoungchang, Danyang, Jincheon, Goesan, Munkyoung, Boeun, Sangju in central limestone area of the Korean peninsula. Among those caves, some archaeological evidences were observed in 11 caves. Various types of potteries, animal bones and stone artifacts were collected on surface of sediments in caves. Among them, the Mosan cave in Munkyoung and the Kwangcheonseongul in Pyeoungchang are very likely to yield important archaeological remains in the well preserved deposits in the caves. Further researches are expected to provide significant information for explaining human living from prehistoric time to historical periods.

Effect of Earthworms on Collembola Abundance in Temperate Forest Soil Ecosystem (온대 숲 토양 생태계에서 지렁이가 톡토기류 개체수에 미치는 영향)

  • Earthworm, a prominent ecosystem engineer within many terrestrial ecosystems, can exert profound influences on various abiotic/biotic environments through bioturbation processes such as burrowing, casting and mixing of litter and soil. In this study, we investigated how the presence or absence of earthworm (Oligochaeta) can alter the soil physico-chemical conditions and ultimately the distribution and abundance of Collembola which constitutes a large proportion of the soil fauna. During September 2010, soil organisms along with soil samples were collected from randomly installed 20 plots in Mt. Gwan-ak. We examined the differences in the abundance of Collembola among plot samples in respect to the presence/absence of earthworm and soil physico-chemical conditions (i.e., pH, $PO_4^{3-}$, $NO_3^{2-}$, organic matter (OM), electrical conductance and water content). Analysis of soil physico-chemical environment revealed a significantly higher organic matter content and electrical conductance in plots with earthworm compared to plots without earthworm. Abundance of Collembola were not only higher in plots with earthworm than in plots without earthworm, but were also positively correlated with availability of OM present in the environment. The results suggest that positive impacts of earthworm on the abundance of Collembola in this study may have been due to their ability to effectively modify soil physico-chemical conditions favored by Collembola. Such conspicuous influence of earthworm's activity on below-ground community suggests their potential significance in forest restoration or revegetation process.

  • 반도체 소자의 고집적화, 미세화 화로 인해 반도체의 동작속도를 증가시키기 위하여 Cu를 이용한 금속배선이 주목받게 되었으나, 높은 압력으로 인한 보은 Cu 영역에서 과잉 디슁 현상과 에로젼을 유도하고 반도체 웨이퍼위의 low-k 물질에 손상을 줌에 따라 메탈라인 브리징과 단락을 초래할 있어, Cu의 단락인 islands를 남김으로서 표면 결항을 제거하지 못한다는 단점을 가지고 있었다. 그래서 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 기존의 CMP에 전기화학을 결합시킴으로서 낮은 하력에서의 Cu평탄화를 달성할 수 있는 ECMP (electrochemical mechanical polishing)기술이 필요하게 되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전기화학적 기계적 연마(ECMP)작용을 위해, I-V 특성 곡선을 이용하여 패시베이션 막의 active, passive, transient, trans-passive영역의 전기화학적 특성을 비교 분석하였으며, Cu막의 표면 형상을 알아보기 위해 scanning electron microscopy (SEM) 측정과 energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS)와 X-ray Diffraction (XRD) 분석을 통해 금속 화학적 조성을 조사하였다.

Investigation for Streamflow Measurement of Small Stream using Dilution Discharge Method during Low Flow Season (갈수기 소하천에서 희석유량법을 이용한 유량측정의 적용성 검토)

  • In this study, dilution discharge method to measure streamflow using water quality data at small streams during low flow season was applied and compared with the conventional method using flowmeter combined with cross-sectional measurement. Streamflow were measured using both methods in Dal-cheon around Naesok Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Boeun, Chugbuk. This stream is reported to suffer from excessive algal growth in spring. An average flowrate difference of $0.004m^3/sec$ was obtained between the two methods. Once further tested for various conditions, the simple water quality method suggested in this study can be used effectively to estimate stream flowrates during low flow seasons where no measuring facilities such as weirs and flowmeters are not available or water depths are too small to measure flow velocities and exact cross-sections.

Right-to-left Shunting Ventricular Septal Defect in a Dog (개에서 발생한 우-좌 단락 심실 중격 결손 증례)

  • A 4-year-old castrated male Dachshund was presented with a chronic history of dyspnea and cyanosis. Complete blood count revealed marked polycythemia with a hematocrit of 79.7%. Thoracic radiographs showed mild right-sided cardiac enlargement. Echocardiography showed a large ventricular septal defect in the left ventricular outflow tract region just proximal to the aortic valve. On Doppler echocardiography, right-to-left shunt flow through the defect was found and confirmed by contrast echocardiography. Based on these diagnostic findings and clinical signs, the dog was diagnosed as right-to-left shunting ventricular septal defect. Phlebotomy and oxygen supplement were performed, but the dog died the day after presentation.

  • 폭설은 짧은 시간에 많은 양의 눈이 오는 기상현상으로, 자연재해에 속하며 각종 피해를 유발한다. 우리나라는 주로 산지가 많고 삼면이 바다로 둘러싸인 지형으로 폭설의 발생 및 영향은 국지적으로 차이가 많이난다. 이에 우리나라 폭설의 지역별 위험도를 이해하기 위해서는 체계적인 지역구분과 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구는 우리나라 폭설의 지역별 위험도를 분석하기 위해 지난 39년 겨울철동안(Oct-Apr, 1971-2010) 68개의 지상기상관측소에서 측정한 일별 최심신적설량을 이용하여 우리나라 대설지역을 바탕으로 크게 울릉도, 영동 해안북부(속초와 강릉), 서태백산맥(춘천, 홍천, 양평, 원주 등), 소백산맥북서부(부여, 보은, 대전 등), 남해안 (해남, 완도, 장흥 등)의 폭설지역으로 세분화하였다. 폭설지역을 기상청의 대설특보 기준에 따라 대설주의보(5cm이상)와 대설경보(20cm이상)가 발령됐던 기간으로 빈도분석을 시행하였다. 대설주의보의 발생일수는 총 5,712일로 전체 폭설 발생일의 68%를 차지한다. 이 중 대설경보의 발생일수는 총 1,976일로 전체 폭설 발생일의 23%를 차지한다. 울릉도에서는 대설주의보의 발령일수가 총 602회로 가장 눈이 많은 지역으로 나타났으며, 그 반대로 가장 눈이 적은 지역인 남해안은 3cm이상일 경우에 대설주의보를 발령하며, 이 지역에서의 대설주의보의 발령일수가 지역별 평균 21회였다. 영동북부해안에서는 대설주의보의 발령일수가 지역별 평균 180회, 서태백산맥에서의 대설주의보 발령일수가 지역별 평균 87회, 소백산맥북서부에서의 대설주의보 발령 일수가 지역별 평균 122회로 우리나라의 폭설지역에 속하는 것으로 나타났다. 각 관측소의 39년 겨울철 최심 신적설량을 대설주의보와 대설경보의 빈도수에 따른 지역별 위험 지역을 IDW (Inverse Distance Weighting) 기법을 이용하여 공간 분포도를 작성하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 폭설 위험 지역의 지역별 빈도 분석 결과를 위험 분포도로 도시화하여 매년 반복적으로 발생하는 폭설로 인한 피해 경감 및 사회 경제적 안정에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
