Domain Decomposition using Substructuring Method and Parallel Comptation of the Rigid-Plastic Finite Element Analysis (부구조법에 의한 영역 분할 및 강소성 유한요소해석의 병렬 계산)

  • In the present study, domain decomposition using the substructuring method is developed for the computational efficiency of the finite element analysis of metal forming processes. In order to avoid calculation of an inverse matrix during the substructuring procedure, the modified Cholesky decomposition method is implemented. As obtaining the data independence by the substructuring method, the program is easily parallelized using the Parallel Virtual Machine(PVM) library on a workstation cluster connected on networks. A numerical example for a simple upsetting is calculated and the speed-up ratio with respect to various domain decompositions and number of processors. Comparing the results, it is concluded that the improvement of performance is obtained through the proposed method.

  • 점차 대형화 및 복잡화되어 가고 있고 구조 개편에 따른 다양한 운용주체들의 참여에 따라 전력계통의 보다 신속하고 정확한 운용 상태의 파악과 효과적인 사고 대처의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 전력계통의 운용 상태에 대한 정확한 판단과 특히 근래에 자주 발생되고 있는 광역정전에 보다 효과적으로 대처하기 위해서는 많은 경우의 상정사고들뿐만이 아니라 각 상정사고 후에 발생할 가능성이 큰 후속 고장들에 대해서 까지도 분석할 필요성이 있다. 이를 위해서는 발생 가능성이 큰 사고 및 사고 시 계통에 큰 영향을 줄 수 있는 사고들의 선정 및 이들의 해석 우선순위를 신속히 결정할 수 있고 사고 해석에 소요되는 시간을 대폭 감소시킬 수 있는 시스템의 구현이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 많은 시간이 소요되는 상정사고 및 그로 인한 일련의 파급 가능 사고들에 대한 해석을 신속히 수행하기 위한 병렬연산 기반 멀티 에이전트 시스템을 제안한다.

Beam Transition Elements for Finite Element Analysis of Transition Regions of Coupled Wall Structures (병렬전단벽 구조물의 변화부분의 유한요소해석을 위한 보-변환요소의 개발)

  • This study presents the formulation of beam transition elements and transition zone elements for the effective finite element analysis of the transition regions of coupled wall structures. Beam transition element can be described as the quasi beam element which is replaced by an equivalent plane stress element, keeping equally, the basic behavior of beam element, based on the kinematic and force constraints between beam and wall element. These beam transition elements solve the incompatibility related to different degrees of freedom between beam and wall element in transition regions. Also, the stiffness matrices of transition zone elements which are directly connected with beam transition elements in transition regions can be derived from the equivalent constraint conditions. These elements provide the reasonable mesh grading schemes for transition regions and can be usefully applied to the transition regions of all structures that the interactions of wall and beam element are considered.

  • Three-dimensional structures of unsteady detonation wave propagating through a square-shaped tube is studied using computational method and parallel processing. Inviscid fluid dynamics equations coupled with variable-${\gamma}$ formulation and simplified one-step Arrhenius chemical reaction model were analysed by a MUSCL-type TVD scheme and four stage Runge-Kutta time integration. Results in three dimension show the two unsteady detonation wave propagating mode, the Rectangular and diagonal mode of detonation wave instabilities. Two different modes of instability showed the same cell length but different cell width and the geometric similarities in smoked-foil record.

  • 본 논문은 Full bridge 방식의 LC 병렬구조를 갖는 400watt HID용 전자식 안정기 구조에 대한 해석과 항상 HID 램프가 일정한 출력을 갖도록 하는 제어 방법에 대해 다루었다. 전자식 안정기의 구조는 LC 병렬구조이다. 램프에 흐르는 전류값에 따라서 전자식 안정기의 동작주파수가 가변되는 구조를 가지고 있어, 램프 점등 초기에는 동작 주파수가 높다가 안정상태로 들어가면 주파수가 떨어지는 특성을 지니고 있다.

  • In this paper, optimal design framework is developed by automatic mesh generation and PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm based on parallel computing environment and applied to structural optimal design of satellite adapter module. By applying automatic mesh generation, it became possible to change the structural shape of adapter module. PSO algorithm was merged with parallel computing environment and for maximizing a computing performance, asynchronous PSO algorithm was developed and could reduce the computing time of optimization process. As constraint conditions, eigen-frequency and maximum stress was considered. Finally using optimal design framework, weight reduction of satellite adapter module is derived with satisfaction of structural safety.

Development of Industrial High-Speed Transfer Parallel Robot (산업용 고속 이송 병렬 로봇 개발)

  • Parallel robots used in industry require high stiffness or high speed because of their structural characteristics. Nowadays, the importance of rapid transportation has increased in the distribution industry. In this light, an industrial parallel robot has been developed for high-speed transfer. The developed parallel robot can handle a maximum payload of 3 kg. For a payload of 0.1 kg, the trajectory cycle time is 0.3 s (come and go), and the maximum velocity is 4.5 m/s (pick amp, place work, adept cycle). In this motion, its maximum acceleration is very high and reaches approximately 13g. In this paper, the design, analysis, and performance test results of the developed parallel robot system are introduced.

  • 유한요소해석프로그램들의 적용대상이 최근들어 다(多) 자유도의 비선형문제로 확대됨에 따라 컴퓨터의 계산속도가 특히 중요한 제한조건으로 대두되기 시작하였으며 금속성형해석, 자동차 등의 충돌해석(자유도가 2만-6만), 토질 및 콘크리트 등의 점소성해석과 더불어 항공기, 터빈 등의 열응력해석 및 동적해석 등에 있어서는 막대한 계산시간으로 인하여 해석의 효율성에 대한 문제가 제기되고 있다. 따라서 슈퍼컴퓨터를 포함하여 고속연산기능을 가진 병렬처리컴퓨터를 이용하여 유한요소해석을 수행하여야 할 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 88년 9월중에 한국과학기술원 시스템공학센터에 현존하는 슈퍼컴퓨터중 최상위 성능을 가진 CRAY2S가 설치됨에 따라 국내에도 슈퍼컴퓨터시대가 열리게 되었으며 따라서 본 고에서는 CRAY2S의 시스템개요 및 응용소프트웨어에 대하여 소개하고 슈퍼컴퓨터를 이용한 유한요소해석에 관하여 간략히 기술하고저 한다.

Analog Parallel Processing Algorithm of CNN-UM for Interframe Change Detection (프레임간의 영상 변화 검출을 위한 CNN-UM의 아날로그 병렬연산처리 알고리즘)

  • The CNN-UM algorithm which performs the analog parallel subtraction of images has been developed and its application study to the moving target detection has been done. The CNN-UM is the state of the art computation architecture with high computational potential of analog parallel processing. It is one of the strong candidates for the next generation of computing system which fulfills requirement of the real-time image processing. One weakness of the CNN-UM is that its analog parallel processing function is not fully utilized for the inter frame processing. If two subsequent image frames are superimposed with opposite signs on identical capacitors for short time period, the analog subtraction between them is achieved. The Principle of such temporal inter-frame processing algorithm has been described and its mathematical analysis has been done. Practical usefulness of the proposed algorithm has also been verified through the application for moving target detection.
