중변형률 속도에서의 차체용 강판의 동적 인장실험 (Dynamic Tensile Tests of Steel Sheets for an Auto-body at the Intermediate Strain Rate)

  • The dynamic behavior of sheet metals must be examined to ensure the impact characteristics of auto-body by a finite element method. An appropriate experimental method has to be developed to acquire the material properties at the intermediate strain rate which is under 500/s in the crash analysis of auto-body. In this paper, tensile tests of various different steel sheets for an auto-body were performed to obtain the dynamic material properties with respect to the strain rate which is ranged from 0.003/sec to 200/sec. A high speed material testing machine was made for tension tests at the intermediate strain rate and the dimensions of specimens that can provide the reasonable results were determined by the finite element analysis. Stress-strain curves were obtained for each steel sheet from the dynamic tensile test and used to deduce the relationship of the yield stress and the elongation to the strain rate. These results are significant not only in the crashworthiness evaluation under car crash but also in the high speed metal forming.

단열 전단 밴드의 유한요소 해석 (Finite Element Anmllysis of Adiabatic Shear Band)

  • 본 연구에서는 단열 전단 밴드의 특성 규명을 위하여 특별히 고안된 계단 형 상 시편(stepped specimen)의 수치해석을 통하여 단열 전단 밴드의 형성과 성장(init- iation and growth of adiabatic shear band)에 관한 체계적 해석을 시도해 보았다. 금번 논문에서는 우선 격자 크기(mesh size)와 충격 속도(impact velocity)가 단열 전 단 밴드의 형성 및 성장에 미치는 영향과 제반 특성을 규명할 계획이며 차후 재료의 기하학적 형상 등이 단열 전단 밴드의 형성 및 성장에 미치는 영향에 대해서도 단계적 연구를 시도할 계획이다. 해석을 위하여 가공경화효과, 변형률 속도 경화효과(stra- in rate hardening effect), 열적연화효과 등을 고려할 수 있는 구성 방정식(constit- utive equation)을 갖춘 엑스플리시트 시간적분 유한요소 코드(explicit time integr- ation finite element code)를 사용하였으며 기존의 연구 결과와는 달리 어떠한 인위 적 결함도 해석에 사용하지 않았다.

철강재료 변형률속도 경화의 미시적 관찰 (Microscopic Investigation of the Strain Rate Hardening for Polycrystalline Metals)

  • Polycrystalline materials such as steels(BCC) and aluminum alloys(FCC) show the strain hardening and the strain rate hardening during the plastic deformation. The strain hardening is induced by deformation resistance of dislocation glide on some crystallographic systems and increase of the dislocation density on grain boundaries or inner grain. However, the phenomenon of the strain rate hardening is not demonstrated distinctly in the rage of $10^{-2}$ to $10^2/sec$ strain rate. In this paper, tensile tests for various strain rates are performed in the rage of $10^{-2}$ to $10^2/sec$ then, specimens are extracted on the same strain position to investigate the microscopic behavior of deformed materials. The extracted specimens are investigated by using the electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) results which show the effect of texture orientation, grain size and dislocation behavior on the strain rate hardening.

횡충돌 하중을 받는 비보강 강판의 구조거동에 대한 크기 효과 (Scale Effects on the Structural Behavior of Steel Unstiffened Plates Subjected to Lateral Collisions)

  • The scale effects on the permanent deformations and fractures of structures subjected to impact loadings have been aware by structural engineers for a long time. Experimental investigations have been performed with various structures to demonstrate the effects, but very few are directly related with marine structural elements. Furthermore, the causes of the scale effects have not clearly been answered yet. In this study, to quantify the scale effects on the permanent deflections, lateral collision tests were performed on steel unstiffened plates and the numerical analyses of the tested models were also conducted using a commercial package, Abaqus. After the substantiation of the numerical tool using the test results, a parametric study was carried out considering and neglecting the strain-rate hardening. Based upon the parametric study results, it may be concluded that the main cause of the scale effects on the permanent deflections of steel unstiffened plates subjected to lateral collision loads is the strain-rate effects.

티타늄 합금의 변형률속도 및 온도를 고려한 인공신경망 기반 경화모델 성능평가 (Evaluation of Performance of Artificial Neural Network based Hardening Model for Titanium Alloy Considering Strain Rate and Temperature)

  • This study addresses evaluation of performance of hardening model for a titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) based on the artificial neural network (ANN) regarding the strain rate and the temperature. Uniaxial compression tests were carried out at different strain rates from 0.001 /s to 10 /s and temperatures from 575 ℃ To 975 ℃. Using the experimental data, ANN models were trained and tested with different hyperparameters, such as size of hidden layer and optimizer. The input features were determined with the equivalent plastic strain, strain rate, and temperature while the output value was set to the equivalent stress. When the number of data is sufficient with a smooth tendency, both the Bayesian regulation (BR) and the Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) show good performance to predict the flow behavior. However, only BR algorithm shows a predictability when the number of data is insufficient. Furthermore, a proper size of the hidden layer must be confirmed to describe the behavior with the limited number of the data.

  • Vacuum interrupters that is used in various switchgear components such as circuit breakers, distribution switches, contactors, etc. spreads the arc uniformly over the surface of the contacts. The electrode of vacuum interrupters is used sintered Cu-Cr material satisfied with good electrical and mechanical characteristics. Because the closing velocity is 1-3m/s, the deformation of the material of electrodes depends on the strain rate and the dynamic behavior of the sintered Cu-Cr material is a key to investigate the impact characteristics of the electrodes. The dynamic response of the material at the high strain-rate is obtained from the split Hopkinson pressure bar test using cylinder type specimens. Experimental results from both quasi-static and dynamic compressive tests with the split Hopkinson pressure bar apparatus are interpolated to construct the Johnson-Cook equation as the constitutive relation that should be applied to simulation of the dynamic behavior of electrodes. To evaluate impact characteristic of a vacuum interrupter, simulation is carried out with five parameters such as initial velocity, added mass of a movable electrode, wipe spring constant, initial offset of a wipe spring and virtual fixed spring constant.

실리콘폴리머의 혼합사용이 폴리비닐실록산 치과용 인상재의 물성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Silicone Polymer Blends on Physical Properties of Dental Polyvinylsiloxane Impression Materials)

  • 본 연구는 비닐작용기의 위치가 다른 실리콘 프리폴리머와 수소작용기의 위치가 다른 가교제, 그리고 이들의 혼합사용이 제조된 치과용 폴리비닐실록산 고무인상재의 물성에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 한 종류의 중점도 프리폴리머를 사용한 실험군은 인장강도, 파단신율, 압축시 변형률이 다른 특성의 프리폴리머들을 혼합사용한 경우보다 낮은 값을 보였다. 측부와 말단에 수소작용기가 있는 CR210 가교제를 사용한 실험군은 측부에만 수소작용기가 있는 CR101 가교제를 사용한 실험군에 비해 압축시 변형률과 파단신율이 더 높았다. 측쇄에도 비닐기를 갖는 높은 비닐함량의 프리폴리머를 사용한 경우는 더 높은 인장강도를 보였지만, 경화 속도가 늦어서 임상 사용에 적합한 작업성을 갖는 치과용 인상재를 만들기 위해서는 이 성분이 경화시간에 미치는 영향과 이를 조절할 수 있는 방안에 대한 지속적인 연구가 필요하다고 생각한다.

  • This paper introduces a newly developed high speed material testing apparatus for tensile tests at the strain rate up to 500/sec. The tensile properties of sheet metals are indispensable for the accurate crashworthiness analysis of auto-bodies since the local strain rate reaches to 500/sec in the car crash. An appropriate experimental method has to be developed to acquire the tensile properties at the intermediate strain rate ranged from 0.003/sec to 200/sec. Tensile tests of various different steel sheets for an auto-body were perform ed to obtain the dynamic properties with respect to the strain rate. The dimensions of specimens that can provide the reasonable results were determined by the finite element analysis. A special jig fixture of a load cell is designed to reduce the load ringing phenomenon induced by unstable stress propagation at the high strain rate. Stress-strain curves were acquired for each steel sheet from the dynamic tensile test and utilized to obtain the relationship of the stress to the strain rate.

The impact characteristics of a vacuum interrupter are investigated with computer simulations by changing the value of five parameters such as the initial velocity of a movable electrode, the added mass of a movable electrode, the wipe spring constant, initial offset of a wipe spring and the virtual fixed spring constant.

  • 발전소의 터빈 로터강의 수명을 평가하기 위하여 $630^{\circ}C$에서 등온 열처리된 7가지의 서로 다른 시편을 준비하였다. 탄소강, 스테인레스강 등의 금속재료의 유동특성을 평가하기 위하여 개발된 구형압입 시험을 통하여 서로 다르게 열화된 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V강의 기계적 물성을 측정하고 이를 인장시험에서의 결과와 비교하였다. 유동특성을 결정짓는 요소로 재료항복기울기와 구속인자지수를 사용하였다. 이는 가공경화지수의 변화가 매우 작고 불규칙적으로 나타났기 때문이다. 또한 재료항복기울기의 영향을 고려하였을 때 구속인자지수의 영향은 적은 것으로 나타났다.
