Fabrication of Gradient Porous Al-Cu Sintered Body (경사 다공성 Al-Cu 소결체의 제조)

  • In this study, gradient porous Al-Cu sintered body was fabricated by powder metallurgy processing. Al-Cu powder mixtures were prepared by low energy ball milling with various milling time. After ball milling for 3h, the shape of powder mixtures changed to spherical type with size of 100~500 ${\mu}m$. Subsequently, Al-Cu powder mixtures were classified (under 150, 150~300 and over 300 ${\mu}m$) and compacted (20, 50 and 100 MPa). Then, they were sintered at $600^{\circ}C$ for various holding time (10, 30, 60 and 120 min) in $N_2$ atmosphere. The sintered bodies had 32~45% of porosity. As a result, the optimum holding time was determined to be 60 min at $600^{\circ}C$ and sintered bodies with various porosity were obtained by controlling the compacting pressure.

  • High-entropy alloys (HEAs) are generally defined as solid solutions containing at least 5 constituent elements with concentrations between 5 and 35 atomic percent without the formation of intermetallic compounds. Currently, HEAs receive great attention as promising candidate materials for extreme environments due to their potentially desirable properties that result from their unique structural properties. In this review paper, we aim to introduce HEAs and explain their properties and related research by classifying them into three main categories, namely, mechanical properties, thermal properties, and electrochemical properties. Due to the high demand for structural materials in extreme environments, the mechanical properties of HEAs including strength, hardness, ductility, fatigue, and wear resistance are mainly described. Thermal and electrochemical properties, essential for the application of these alloys as structural materials, are also described.

  • This paper introduces a new design method of realizing the machine control interface by using bio-signals(EEG/EOG). This method can be further expanded to be applied to the computer system responding to EEG or EOG signals and the general bio-feedback system. For this reason, we made the remotely controlled toy system controlled by the EEG spectrums, their combination indexes, and EOG parameters. And the headset that has bio-signal processing modules built-in offers convenience for users, and this make much more advanced system than any other existing BCI and BMI system.

  • This paper presents a theoretical analysis of a ramjet and scramjet engine according to flight Mach numbers. The main objective of this study is to give physical understanding on the performance parameters and to provide a more unified treatment of the fundamentals of ramjet and scramjet propulsion, mainly based on analytical methods. The effects of flight Mach number, inlet characteristics, and combustion on the performance of ramjet and scramjet are analysed. The cycle analysis are conducted on both combustors with constant pressure and with constant cross-section area, on which comparisons are made. Also the optimal Mach number at the entry of the combustor is studied.

다발 원통 튜브형 그레인의 연소 불안정 억제를 위한 실험적 연구

  • 연소실의 세장비(aspect ratio)가 작으면서 추진제의 고 충전을 이용한 단시간 연소 모타는 유도탄의 사출 모타 용으로 사용될 수 있다. 사출 모타는 일반적으로 모타 무게에 대한 제약 조건이 까다롭지 않기 때문에 무게 경량화에 대한 부담은 줄어들지만, 모타의 부피가 커지면 유도탄 발사 장치의 부피가 커지기 때문에 공간적인 측면에서 가능한 작게 하는 것이 시스템 전체의 효율을 증대시킬 수 있다. 또한 사출 모타의 연소 시간이 짧기 때문에(1초 이내) 추진제의 웹 두께가 작으므로 연소실의 주어진 공간에서 추진제를 많이 채우기 위한 방법으로 원통 튜브형 그레인을 여러 개의 다발로 사용하는 방법이 효과적이다. 이러한 관점에서 사출 모타용으로 다발 원통 튜브형 그레인을 설계/제작/연소시험을 하였더니 작은 저주파(약 10Hz)의 연소 불안정 현상이 발생하였다. (그림1). 이러한 주파수 대역은 일반적으로 잘 알려진 연소 불안정 모드 (longitudinal, tangential, and radial mode)와는 다른 아주 특이한 현상이다. 이러한 현상의 주 원인은 연소실 내 압력의 비평형에 의한 현상이라 판단되어 다음과 같은 연구를 수행하였다. 1) 그레인 튜브간의 압력 평형을 원활하게 하기 위하여 그레인에 구멍(홀)을 뚫어서 연소 안정화에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구(그림2), 2) 그레인에 홀을 뚫지 않고 격자와 격자간의 공간을 이용하여 그레인 간에 발생된 저주파의 압력 진동을 산란/소멸 시키는 연소 안정화 연구(그림3).

  • The characteristic of mutant has long history, which is shown in various science fictions. There are different types and characters like Satyrs from Ancient Greek to superheroes in present. In fact, however, mutant as a cultural content has not been discussed sufficiently in Korea, even if related analyses were required indeed. In the thesis the characteristic and types of 'Homo Mutant' will be introduced and analyzed in many aspects and look for the reason why 'Homo Mutant' can be revealed and apply for further possibilities.

  • Electro-magnetic launcher(EML)는 전자기력을 이용하여 발사체를 추진시키는 장치이다. EML은 크게 레일건의 형태와 코일건의 형태로 구분되며, 본 논문에서는 코일건의 형태로 설계, 제작하였다. 코일건의 형태인 EML은 솔레노이드에 여자되는 전류에 의해서 발사체에 흡인력이 발생하여 추진, 가속되므로 솔레노이드의 최적형태를 설계하고, 이를 바탕으로 제작하여 EML의 스위칭 시간에 따른 속도를 측정하여 여자전류의 스위칭 시간에 따른 동작특성을 해석, 실험하여 분석하였다.

Adaptive Searching Estimation in Stratified Spatial Sample design (적합탐색 관찰을 이용한 층화 공간표본설계에서의 추정)

  • We systematized an stratified spatial sample design(SSSD) that uses the adequate stratification criteria such as the shapeness or the dispersion of an interesting region in a spatial population. And we proposed an adaptive searching estimation method in the SSSD to estimate the area of region of interest in two-dimensional surfaces. When wc adopt the proposed adaptive searching estimation method in SSSD, the observing sample size is more decreased than a classical sample design that all the designed sample size is observed. Nevertheless it has been shown that we can produce the moderate result but the efficiency is a slight reduced.

  • The sampling design for the spatial population studies needs a model assumption of a dependent relationship, where the interesting parameters can be the population mean, proportion and area. We know that the study of an interested spatial population, which is stratified by a geographical condition or shape, and the degree of distort of an estimation area is much useful. In light of this, if auxiliary information of the target variable such as wasted area contaminated by some material and the degree of distribution of animal or plants is available, then the spatial estimator might be improved through the calibration procedure. In this research, we propose the calibration procedure for the spatial stratified sampling in which we consider the one and two-dimensional auxiliary information.

  • As control of plant diseases, insects and weeds were heavily relied on pesticides, residues of pesticides in environment and food supply were recently focused by environmentalists and consumer groups. The reduction of pesticide use was implemented in Sweden, Denmark, Netherland, England, and United States. Therefore, it is very important to discuss environmentally sound systems of weed management including cultural, mechanical, and integrated weed control. Mechanical methods using tillage, cultivation, mulching, burning, mowing, solarization, and UHF are used as one of most effective environmentally sound weed management systems. Cultural practices favoring the crops are excellent weed management measures. Correct seedbed preparation for the soil and cultural system, and use competitive cultivars contribute to weed management. Increasing crop density by higher seeding rate or by narrowing row width and careful attention to optimum fertility to produce vigorous crop plants increase competitiveness of crops against weeds. Crop rotation breaks life cycles of weeds by alternating the crop it must associate with. Herbicides are efficient and profitable to control weeds, but must be part of a total weed management program with use of minimum rate. The best weed management will be an integrated approach including two or more methods to manage weed problems.
