  • 미국에서 한때 베스트셀러를 기록했던 "자연요법"이란 책을 쓴 앤드루 웨일이 세계 각지의 민간요법을 조사하기 위해 아마존 오지의 주술사를 찾았다. 그러나 추장과 의사의 일까지 맡고 있던 이 주술사는 개발에 밀려 훼손되고 있는 아마존의 열대림과 생활터전을 보호하기 위한 사회운동가로 변신해 있었다. 자연이 파괴되는 이 무서운 현실 앞에서 우리도 아마존의 주술사처럼 변신과 전업을 꾀해야 하지 않을까 생각이 든다.

  • 지능로봇에 관한 열기가 확산되면서 다양한 로봇이 연구, 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 소리 인식, 변신 기능, 무게 중심 인식, 장애물 감지 및 4족 자율보행의 기능을 가지는 로봇의 설계 및 제작에 관하여 기술한다. 자기변신 로봇의 무게 중심이 아래로 향할 수 있도록 현재 상태를 파악한 후 중심 추를 이동시켜서 무게 중심을 변화시킨다. 이동 중 소리 인식과 장애물 인식 및 낭떠러지 인식으로 원활한 이동을 하기위해 다양한 센서들을 사용 한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안한 방법의 유용성을 검증하고, 이를 실제 자기변신 로봇의 설계 및 제작에 적용하여 타당성을 입증한다.

Analysis on Pataphysics of the Metamorphosis in Film 'X-Men' (영화 '엑스맨(X-Men)'의 변신모티브에 나타난 파타피직스 분석)

  • The movie, X-men, develops the narrative with metamorphosis as the main motif making visual effects of characters and background. The objective of this study is to suggest that the metamorphosis motif can be materialized based on the virtuality of "pataphysics" as one of the genre characteristics of superhero movies and the newly materialized virtuality can be aesthetic characteristics of metamorphosis motif movies. With the virtuality that has its own characteristics with metaphorical symbols such as satire on an absurd society out of existing traditions, pataphysics started in mid-twentieth century and has had an impact on art movements of dadaism, surrealism, pop art, and postmodernism. Analyzing the characteristics of pataphysics which were shown in these artworks, we applied it to metamorphosis scenes of the movie. As a result, we found out that it visualized the shape and aspect of inner and outer strength of a superhero with aesthetic characteristics of metamorphosis scenes and it realized the presence, hybridity, and ex-formal properties of pataphysics consisting of overlapped virtual and physical reality, with technical virtuality.

A Study on the Transformation Motif in Animations (애니메이션의 변신(變身) 모티프 연구)

  • This paper examined the immanent ideological bases in the transformation motif of animations, focusing on several leading animation works in which a human gets transformed into an animal, or vice versa, and also took a look at what meaning and function this transformation motif adds to their narrative. As a result of analyzing the animation texts centered on the transformation motif, transforming into an animal in is applied as a means for punishment. It shows the notion that the animals need men's care, that is, the anthropocentric point of view that the animals need to be overcome and conquered had a strong influence upon this work. However, in , a boy realizes that the animals(nature) are not the targets to conquer and learns to appreciate the principle of Mother Nature through the process of becoming a bear. By this description, this work shows deep reflection on nature and human being. Lastly, shows a desire to overpass the border to forbidden things, and describes the relationship between men and animals(nature) in a variety of perspectives. Furthermore, this study examined how the variety of attitudes toward the transformation targets is formed in each work.

Argument Structure of Leibniz's Theodicy (라이프니츠 변신론의 논증 구조)

  • This study aims to reconstruct Leibniz's theodicy. Theodicy is to defense of the highest wisdom of the creator against the charge which reason brings against it for whatever is the evil in the world. For this defense, Leibniz created his own new kind of concepts: the principle of sufficient reason, the principle of perfection, the best of all possible worlds, moral necessity. Leibniz's theodicy is developed as following. Most good and wisest God created this world freely by moral necessity. God's will was to choose the goods antecedently. But God's will could not create goods only. For God's final purpose is to create the best. For this reason, it happens that the evils may come about by concomitance, and as a result of other greater goods. Therefore the evils are necessary in the world. And evil consists in imperfection. Man has free will as God. Freedom, according to Leibniz, consists in intelligence, which involves a clear knowledge of the object of deliberation. Man has freedom, but man's freedom is imperfect. Evil is originated in man's imperfect freedom.

  • The various representations are receiving attention in modern society that has so many contents. Among them, the fantasy shows that you can not see in reality. But the intention of these fantasies is not giving a visual fun. The fantasy show the reality through stories that are not in reality. The fantasy that allows readers to continue to make the suspect between the real and the imagination and that suspect arises from the desire of real life. If the desire break the community, the social ideology will collapses. Conversely, if the desire is overturned by community, the social will be maintained. The goal of the fantasy which has the relationships of society is revealed through the various expressions of existence. They are divided into the subject and the other show the inner side of the main character. The subject shows the inner side of the main character by the transformation, alter ego and the other exists. The other shows the desire of the subject by the transformation, alter ego and the strangers. Disney animation studios select the target audience and the message in relation with the society. They choose the original like the fairy tale, myth and change them to satisfy the middle class. The characters of Disney animation says that messages by the expression of fantasy. The subject go through the transformation by twice. The first transformation is antisocial and the second transformation is social. The second shows a complete transformation. The other characters personified show the many kinds of the main character. The other as the alter ego of the main character represents the desire of the subject. They are described as an object of fear and exclusion. They expresses as a dark and menacing looks and hinders the complete transformation of the subject. But they were overthrown by the subject at the end of the story and it strengthen the social ideology. As a result, Disney highlights the value and the moral message of the society by using the representation of fantasy.
