A Prediction of Coal Ash Slagging for Entrained Flow Gasifiers (분류층 석탄가스화기 Slag 용융특성 예측)

  • 분류층 가스화기는 석탄과 산소(공기) 및 수증기가 반응하여 $1200{\sim}1600^{\circ}C$의 고온, 20~60기압의 고압에서 작동되어 합성가스를 생성하며 합성가스에 포함된 입자 및 황화합물 등을 정제설비를 통하여 정제 후 발전 및 화학원료로 사용한다. 석탄가스화 중 석탄에 포함된 대부분의 회분은 용융슬래그 형태로 가스화기 벽면을 따라 흘러 내려 가스화기 하부의 냉각수조에서 급랭되어 배출된다. 이때 용융슬래그의 원활한 배출을 위해서는 일정범위의 점도를 유지하는 것이 필요하다. 슬래그의 점도는 가스화기 온도 및 Ash의 조성에 따라 크게 변하며 가스화기 설계 및 운전 시 매우 중요한 변수이다. 따라서 최적의 설계 및 운전을 위해서는 Ash의 점도예측이 중요하며, 분류층 가스화기내부에서 Ash 점도 예측을 위한 DooVisco 프로그램을 개발하였다. DooVisco는 가스화기 내부에서 슬래그 용융온도 및 온도별 점도, 가스화기 최소 운전온도 및 석회석 투입 효과 분석뿐만 아니라 석탄의 혼합 사용 시의 특성 예측도 가능하도록 개발되었다. DooVisco는 슬래그 주요 4성분인 SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, FeO 성분에 대한 Phase Diagram을 이용하여 1차적으로 슬래그용융온도(Liquidus Temperature)를 예측하고, 주요 4 성분 외에 Na2O, MgO, K2O, TiO2 등을 고려한 Kalmanovich Model을 이용하여 점도를 예측한다. 최종적으로 슬래그 용융온도와 점도를 활용하여 분류층 가스화기 운전가능 온도범위를 예측한다. 개발된 DooVisco를 활용하여 300MW급 실증 IGCC 플랜트에 사용가능성이 있는 석탄을 대상으로 슬래그의 용융온도 및 점도 등을 예측하였으며 최적 운전을 위한 슬form점도 조절용 Flux인 석회석 투입량 등을 평가하였다. 평가 결과 슬래그 용융온도가 $1700^{\circ}C$ 이상으로 석회석 투입이 필요하다고 판단되었다. 약 가스화기 내부 온도를 $1500^{\circ}C$ 정도에서 원활한 운전을 위해서는 석탄 대비 약 10% 내외의 석회석 투입이 필요할 것으로 평가되었다. DooVisco는 분류층 가스화기 설 계시 가스화기 최적 운전 온도 설정 및 Flux 투입필요성, 종류, 투입량 선정에 활용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 플랜트 운전시 석탄의 탄종 적합성 등을 판단하는데 활용될 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.

Numerical Approach for a Partial CFST Column using an Improved Bond-Slip Model (개선된 부착슬립 모델을 적용한 부분 CFST 기둥의 수치해석)

  • In this study, a numerical approach for evaluating the resisting capacity of a partial concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) column is introduced. By strengthening the plastic hinge part of a traditional reinforced concrete column with a steel tube, a partial CFST shows a similar bending moment capacity as that of a full CFST column but with reduced material cost. To conduct an elaborate numerical analysis of a partial CFST column, an improved bond-slip model is applied to a finite element (FE) model at the interface between the steel tube and in-filled concrete. This numerical model is verified through the results of a double curvature bending-compression test. A parametric study with the proposed numerical model is used to obtain the load moment interaction diagrams for evaluating the resisting capacity based on various dimensions. Finally, the required strengthening length is estimated for each degree of thickness of the steel tube, and the failure mechanism of the partial CFST column based on the dimensions of the steel tube are identified.

A Study on the Estimation of Ultimate Bearing Capacity of Granular Group Piles Reinforced with Steelpipe Skirts (강관스커트 보강 조립토 군말뚝의 극한지지력 평가에 관한 연구)

  • In the present study, a simple finite element method of analysis to predict non-uniform settlements at the interface between the mat foundation and foundation soils is proposed. Based on the proposed finite element method of analysis, the method to evaluate load sharing ratios of the foundation soils adjacent to the granular group piles is also presented. Further proposed is a procedure to estimate ultimate bearing capacity of the skirted granular group piles in a square pattern. To verify validity of the proposed methods and the estimated ultimate bearing capacity of the skirted group piles, comparisons are made with the results analyzed by using the PENTAGON3D FEM program. Finally, behavior characteristics with different reinforcement patterns of the skirts and the effect of an increase of ultimate bearing capacity due to the skirts are analyzed in connection with the design parameters.

  • 대청호로 유입하는 탁수의 감시와 저수지내의 시공간분포를 예측할 수 있는 실시간 탁수감시 및 예측시스템(RTMMS)을 개발하였다. RTMMS는 탁도와 수온 등 실시간 계측자료를 데이터베이스에 저장.조회하는 실시간 감시(Realtime Monitoring), 2차원 탁수예측 수치모델의 입력자료 생성(Input Data), 탁수예측 수치모델의 수행 (W2 Run), 모의결과의 조회 및 저수지 운영 시나리오별 탁수조절 효과분석을 위한 후처리 (Post-Process) 기능을 제공한다. 시스템의 GUI 화면은 개별 기능을 탭 형식으로 제공하여 사용자가 순차적으로 자료조회와 모델수행 그리고 결과분석을 쉽게 수행할 수 있도록 설계하였다. RTMMS는 강우사상 동안 유입하천의 수온예측을 위해 대기기온, 이슬점온도, 하천유량자료를 독립변수로 이용하는 다중회귀모델(DMR)을 사용하며, 탁도 예측은 유량과 SS 부하량의 상관관계를 이용하는 탁도예측모델(QLM)을 사용한다. 저수지로 유입한 탁수의 밀도류 거동과 시공간적인 탁도분포 예측은 2차원 횡방향 평균 수리 수질해석 모형인 CE-QUAL-W2를 채택하였다. 개발된 시스템은 2004년 홍수기를 대상으로 시범적용 하였으며, 그 결과를 실측자료와 비교하여 제시하였다. RTMMS는 저수지 탁수발생 현황조회, 취수원 도달시간 및 지속기간, 밀도류와 전도현상을 고려한 시공간 분포 예측, 발전 및 수문방류, 선택취수 등 다양한 저수지운영 시나리오에 따른 상.하류 영향 분석, 용수 이용자에게 탁도 예측정보의 제공 등 탁수를 고려한 저수지운영 의사결정지원 도구로써 매우 유용하게 활용 될 것으로 기대된다.

Integrated Procedure of Self-Organizing Map Neural Network and Case-Based Reasoning for Multivariate Process Control (자기조직화 지도 신경망과 사례기반추론을 이용한 다변량 공정관리)

  • Many process variables in modem manufacturing processes have influence on quality of products with complicated relationships. Therefore, it is necessary to control multiple quality variables in order to monitor abnormal signals in the processes. This study proposes an integrated procedure of self-organizing map (SOM) neural network and case-based reasoning (CBR) for multivariate process control. SOM generates patterns of quality variables. The patterns are compared with the reference patterns in order to decide whether their states are normal or abnormal using the goodness-of-fitness test. For validation, it generates artificial datasets consisting of six patterns, normal and abnormal patterns. Experimental results show that the abnormal patterns can be detected effectively. This study also shows that the CBR procedure enables to keep Type 2 error at very low level and reduce Type 1 error gradually, and then the proposed method can be a solution fur multivariate process control.

  • In order to predict the propagation of road traffic noise over level terrain, this paper presents the model of the simple monopole and dipole source. Excess attenuations by ground acoustic impedance with continuity are investigated by outdoor experiments. In this results, the propagation of road traffic noise is affected by the acoustic impedance properties of the ground surface over which the noise travels, particularly when the receiver position is close to the surface. These results are then used to derive sound pressure level contours for the attenuation with distance of the equivalent energy level received from passing vehicle. The percentage of deep sleep and the number of wakings are studied for continuous traffic noise. The hearing loss and sensitivity threshold shift is investigated by changing the various parameters such as the effects of aging and noise exposure. Evaluation of the response of human to traffic noise is discribed. It is shown that exposure to excessive noise can cause temporary loss of hearing that may become permanent if the exposure is prolonged or intense.

  • Recently, the sound design of the electric vehicle has emerged as one of the new research objects. This study was conducted to explore and examine major values of interior driving sound of the electric vehicle from the perspective of user experience. An exploratory study based on the ground theory extracted contextual information and quietness as independent variables, and then we analyzed the main and interaction effects of those two variables on the usefulness, emotion, and satisfaction through a $2{\times}2$ factorial experimental design. The experimental study demonstrated that the effect on the user experience of electric vehicle can be conditioned by the combination of contextual information sound and quietness. Based on the results of this study, we suggested future research agendas for the optimization of user needs which reflect individual preference of interior driving sound values.

Evaluation of Cooling Energy Saving through Applying Aisle Partition System on a Data Center Server Room (파티션 시스템 적용을 통한 기존 데이터센터 서버실의 냉방 에너지 절감 성능평가)

  • In this study, a computer simulation of the three types of air distribution systems, open type system, aisle partition system and aisle containment system, to evaluate the applicability of the aisle partition system on a data center server room. The variables of the simulation were the height and location of the partition fixed on the top server rack. The energy efficiency of the air distribution systems were confirmed to be excellent in the order of the aisle containment system, aisle partition system, and open type system. In the cold aisle partition system, the height of the partition that can be effective in saving cooling energy by obstructing sufficient air recirculation was found to be more than 0.9m. In the hot aisle partition system, the height of the partition was found to be more than 0.8m.

The Relationship between Technology Innovation and Firm Performance of Korean Companies based on Patent Analysis (특허분석을 통한 기술혁신과 기업성과의 관계분석)

  • Technological innovation is being recognized as a core capability of competitive advantage for sustainable growth of a company. In this regard, lots of research activities have been conducted on technological innovation and performance at firm level. Ihis study empirically investigates those relationship with cross-sectional and time-series data according to firm-specific characteristics along industry. Patent intensity, R&D intensity, and intangible asset intensity smoothing by firm size are used as proxy measures for explanation of performance with net income per employee. As a result with 162 high-tech firms for 11 years, it was found that high performances were positively related to patent and R&D intensity. Also, firms classified into 8 categories based on firm-specific technological innovation characteristics show difference upon performances. To sum up, firms that have high patent and R&D intensity demonstrate high performance compared to other firms.

  • Recently, due to the increase of high-rise buildings construction, many researches for making harden of concrete earlier and remove of forms faster are being performed to reduce construction period. The purpose of this study is to analysis which mixing condition and curing temperature of early strength concrete. Porperties of concrete by the different factors, such as the type of active admixtures, mineral admixtures, curing temperature, the amount of binder, etc. Through the test of concrete using the different type of admixture, PC type was more excellent than PNS type admixture. The concrete Strength remarkably will be able to confirm that decreases from temperature below 12$^{\circ}C$.
