Hydraulic Characteristic Analysis of Buoyant Flap Typed Storm Surge Barrier using FLOW-3D model (FLOW-3D 모형을 이용한 부유 플랩형 고조방파제의 수리학적 특성 분석)

  • A storm surge barrier is a specific type of floodgate, designed to prevent a storm surge or spring tide from flooding the protected area behind the barrier. A surge barrier is almost always part of a larger flood protection system consisting of floodwalls, dikes, and other constructions. Surge barriers allow water to pass under normal circumstances but, when a (storm) surge is expected, the barrier can be closed. Among the various means of closing, buoyant flap typed storm surge barrier which was indicated by MOSE project in Italy is chosen for Masan bay protection, and the motion of the surge barrier under the action of storm surge and wave is examined using FLOW-3D, a computational fluid dynamics software analyzing various physical flow processes. Numerical result shows that storm surge barrier is successfully operated under wave height 3 m, and tidal range 2 m.

  • Ultrastructure of the zona radiata the micropyle and fertilization process in the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were examined by light, scanning and transmission microscopes . The egg micropyle of rainbow trout consists of a funnel-shaped vestibule and a tapered canal transversing the zona radiata. The micropyle showed the type with a flat pit leading into a long canal and the micropylar wall showed the clockwise spiral structure. There were a great number of microvilli secreting adhesive materials having trapping function attracting the spermatozoa in the vicinity of micropyle. It was apparent that ridges extended between the projections. In the initial stages of penetration, the spermatozoon still within the micropylar canal attached perpendicularly at its apical tip to the egg surface, then the sperm head was rapidly engulfed by the folded egg surface with its many microvilli. The spermatozoon disappeared from the outer surface of the egg before the fertilization cone completely retracted 250 seconds after insemination. No interconnecting ridges was present in the egg surface. In short, the block to polyspermy to permit entry of a single sperm is considered to be mechanical by the morphological design of the micropyle and fertilization cone.

Preparation and Characterization of Functional Microcapsules Containing Suspensions of Conducting Materials (전도성 물질 서스펜션을 함유한 마이크로캡슐)

  • Microcapsules containing the suspension of conducting materials such as carbon nanotube (CNT) or polyaniline (PANI) were prepared by in-situ polymerization of melamine and formaldehyde. Stable microcapsules were prepared and the mean diameter of the observed microcapsules was in the range of $10-20{\mu}m$. The surface morphology and chemical structure of microcapsules were investigated using optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The thermal properties of samples were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The conductivity of ruptured microcapsule containing the suspension of CNTs or PANIs in tetrachloroethylene and Isopar-G was measured. As the amount of CNTs and PANIs in the core of microcapsules increased, the measured current increased. Conductivity measurement results suggest that poly (melamine-formaldehyde) based core-shell microcapsules could be applied to self-healing electronic materials systems, where CNTs or PANIs bridge a broken circuit upon release.

  • 근래 들어 도시화로 인한 물순환 파괴를 근본적으로 연구하고 이를 정상화하기 위한 체계적이고 통합적인 유역관리 기술이 요구되고 있다. 유역통합관리의 이론을 실제로 적용한 계획을 세우기 위해서는 Heathcote(1998)가 제안한 다음과 같은 단계별 절차를 수행하는 것이 바람직하다. 단계별 절차는 (1) 대상유역에 대한 정보수집, (2) 문제점 도출, (3) 분명한 목적 수립, (4) 대안의 구성, (5) 대안의 검토, (6) 대안의 효과분석, (7) 최종계획 수립으로 이루어져 있으며 본 연구에서는 3단계의 과정에 해당된다. Heathcote(1998)는 대안의 선정과 평가를 위한 방법으로 단순평가방법(simple assessment method)과 세부평가방법(detailed assessment method)으로 구분하였는데 본 연구에서 수행한 내용은 단순평가방법에 해당된다. 본 연구는 안양천 유역에서 물순환 건전화의 핵심을 건천화 방지로 판단하고 이를 위한 대안을 크게 지표수, 지하수, 대체수자원 분야로 구분하여 제시하였다. 지표수 분야의 경우 구조적인 대안으로 소규모 저수지의 개발, 타유역에서의 도수, 보를 이용한 수량 확보, 우오수분리벽을 이용한 상류유출수의 확보, 저협수로 형성, 하천바닥에 차집관로 매설 방지 및 차집관로 유지관리 등이 있으며 비구조적인 대안으로는 기존 저수지의 유지용수 공급을 위한 운영, 유수지의 다목적 활용, 하천수 직접취수 제한 등이 있다. 지하수 분야의 대안으로는 지하철 용출수의 재이용, 지하수의 과다이용 제한, 침투증진시설의 설치 등이 있으며 대체수자원 분야의 대안으로는 하수처리수를 고도처리하여 유지용수로 재이용하는 것, 중소규모 하수처리장의 상류 설치, 대규모 사업장의 폐수를 고도처리하여 활용하는 것, 상수도의 이용 등이 있다. 이러한 여러 가지 대안들은 Walesh(1989)가 제안한 절차에 따라 기술가능성(technical feasibility), 경제성(economical efficiency), 환경성(environmental feasibility) 등을 정성적으로(qualitatively) 파악하여 실현가능한 대안을 선정하였다. 이렇게 선정된 대안들은 중유역별로 검토하여 효과가 있을 것으로 판단되는 대안들을 제시하는 예비타당성(Prefeasibility) 계획을 수립하였다. 이렇게 제시된 계획은 향후 과학적인 분석(세부평가방법)을 통해 대안을 평가하고 구체적인 타당성(feasibility) 계획을 수립하는데 토대가 될 것이다.

Economic Effects of Sustainable Water Resources Technology Development - Technology-Product-Industry Diagram Analysis - (상용화를 고려한 수자원의 지속적 확보기술 개발의 경제적 가치평가기법 제안 - 기술-제품-산업 연관도 분석 -)

  • 본 연구는 21C 프론티어사업과 같이 상용화를 전제로 하는 기술개발사업의 파급효과 정량화를 위하여, 기술의 분석뿐이 아닌 기술개발로 인하여 산출되는 제품과 이를 수요하게 될 산업 간의 연관도의 작성을 제안한다. 그 사례로서 기술 개발의 실용화를 통하여 물관리 효율을 높이고 친환경적으로 신규 수자원을 개발하여 예상되고 있는 한국의 물부족 나아가서는 세계의 물문제의 해결을 목표로 하고 있는 수자원의 지속적 확보기술개발사업단의 기술을 분석한다. 기술개발사업의 최종목표가 상용화를 통하여 달성된다면 개발하고 있는 기술의 경제적 가치 분석 작업에는 당연히 최종수요자에 대한 고려가 있어야 할 것이다. 그러나 일반적으로 기술개발자는 기술의 개발 시 수요자에 대한 고려가 미흡하며, 수요자 역시 개발자에게 충분한 정보를 주지 못하고 있다. 이로 인하여 수많은 정부주도 기술개발사업에는 이른바 Valley of Death, 즉 기술은 개발되었으나 상용화의 벽을 넘지 못하고 사라져 가는 현상이 매우 빈번히 나타나고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 개별기술평가에 기존의 기술연관도나 산업연관도와 달리 이들을 기술개발단계별로 연결하여주는 가칭 '기술-제품-산업연관도'의 작성을 제안한다. 이를 통하여 기술개발로 인하여 궁극적으로 산출되는 제품과 이들을 수요하는 산업들간의 연관관계를 확인할 수 있어 연구 포트폴리오 구성, 기술가치평가 및 공정분석기법의 적용범위 체계화, 수자원의 지속적 확보 기술의 기술이전 및 실용화를 촉진하기 위한 전략 마련에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 기술-제품-산업 연관도를 통해 수자원의 지속적 확보기술의 정량적 성과평가가 더욱 용이하여지며, 특히 수요자간의 의견수렴절차에서 매우 긴요하게 쓰일 수 있어, 기술개발사업의 타당성을 확보할 수 있으며, 개발기술의 상용화율 제고 및 잠재수요층 개발과 기업 투자자와 정부관계자의 이해도 중진을 통한 사업진행효율 증대를 기대할 수 있다. 또한 본 연구는 각종 개발기술의 파급효과 분석의 가이드라인으로 활용될 수 있으며 다른 기술분야 평가에도 객관적이고 타당성 있는 평가 틀로서 활용 가능할 것이다.

Effects ofRelative Humidity on Russet Occurrence in Whangkeumbae Pear (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai cv,) (상대습도가 황금배(pyrus pyrifolia Nakai cv.) 동녹발생에 미치는 영향)

  • The occurrence rate of russet in 'Whangkeumbae' pear showed significant difference by years because the russet occurrence is greatly affected by the amount of rainfall. This study was conducted to analyse the relationship between rainfall and russet occurrence by artificial treatment of high humidity. Under high relative humidity condition, stomatal resistance decreased and average fruit weight was higher since the increased net photosynthesis rate accumulation accelerated fruit growth. The russet occurrence began on July 25, when the growth speed of fruit weight and fruit surface is the most fast. Russet occurrence rate was higher in high relative humidity condition because the fruit growth was accelerated. Since the fruit calcium concentration change is extreme in late July, it is assumed that the deceased calcium content is related to the occurrence of russet in 'Whangkeumbae' pear, When the high relative humidity condition is maintained after rainfall, the amount of net photosynthesis rate increase and fruit growth is accelerated. Therefore, the unbalance in the amounts of transferred photosynthesis assimilation product, water and mineral elements would be one of the reasons for the russet occurrence in 'Whangkeumbae' pear.

  • The function of fire barrier penetration sealing is highly important to confine a fire propagation a fire severity within a fire area where the fire started. Especially for the penetration seals at the nuclear power plants with the long-term operated history, it is needed to make it clear that the conformance to the sealing requirements has been proven to guarantee the fire-resistive performance of fire barrier penetration parts. If there are any parts of fire barrier penetration sealing which can not meet the required rating for the fire endurance performance, the relevant parts must be modified to meet regulatory requirements. At this paper, the engineering analysis methodology was established to approximate the fire endurance rating for the fire barrier penetration seals. With this study, the method of engineering analysis to decide fire endurance rating for the fire barrier penetration seals was established and this way can be utilized to check the performance of the fire rating for the penetration seal at the domestic nuclear power plants.

FDANT-PCSV: Fast Detection of Abnormal Network Traffic Using Parallel Coordinates and Sankey Visualization (FDANT-PCSV: Parallel Coordinates 및 Sankey 시각화를 이용한 신속한 이상 트래픽 탐지)

  • As a company's network structure is getting bigger and the number of security system is increasing, it is not easy to quickly detect abnormal traffic from huge amounts of security system events. In this paper, We propose traffic visualization analysis system(FDANT-PCSV) that can detect and analyze security events of information security systems such as firewalls in real time. FDANT-PCSV consists of Parallel Coordinates visualization using five factors(source IP, destination IP, destination port, packet length, processing status) and Sankey visualization using four factors(source IP, destination IP, number of events, data size) among security events. In addition, the use of big data-based SIEM enables real-time detection of network attacks and network failure traffic from the internet and intranet. FDANT-PCSV enables cyber security officers and network administrators to quickly and easily detect network abnormal traffic and respond quickly to network threats.

  • This paper presents a navigation problem for an autonomous mobile robot in an unknown environment. The environment contains various types of obstacles and is completely unknown to the robot. Therefore, all of the surrounding information must be detected by the robot's proximity sensors. A navigation method was developed based on a fuzzy inference system to guide the robot to move along a collision-free path and reach the goal position quickly. The obstacles are assumed to be static, and both regular and irregular types of obstacles were investigated. A wall following method is also proposed for a special environment that contains a labyrinth or sharp U-valley obstacles. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method has great potential for this navigation problem.

Assessment of Structural Modeling Refinements on Aeroelastic Stability of Composite Hingeless Rotor Blades (구조 모델링 특성에 따른 복합재료 무힌지 로터의 공력 탄성학적 안정성 연구)

  • The aeroelastic stability analysis of a soft-in-plane, composite hingeless rotor blade in hover and in forward flight has been performed by combining the mixed beam method and the aeroelastic analysis system that is based on a moderate deflection beam approach. The aerodynamic forces and moments acting on the blade are obtained using the Leishman-Beddoes unsteady aerodynamic model. Hamilton's principle is used to derive the governing equations of composite helicopter blades undergoing extension, lag and flap bending, and torsion deflections. The influence of key structural modeling issues on the aeroelastic stability behavior of helicopter blades is studied. The issues include the shell wall thickness, elastic couplings and the correct treatment of constitutive assumptions in the section wall of the blade. It is found that the structural modeling effects are largely dependent on the layup geometries adopted in the section of the blade and these affect on the stability behavior in a large scale.
