  • Falls are the main cause of serious injuries and accidental deaths in people over the age of 65. Due to widespread adoption of smartphones, there has been a growing interest in the use of smartphones for detecting human behavior and activities. Modern smartphones are equipped with a wide variety of sensors such as an accelerometer, a gyroscope, camera, GPS, digital compass and microphone. In this paper, we introduce a new method that determines the fall direction of human subjects by analyzing the three axis components of acceleration vector.

  • This paper describes the vector control system estimates rotor speed based on MRAS(Model Reference Adaptive Control) and this estimate is used for speed feedback control. The stability of speed estimator is proved on the basis of hyperstability theory. In order to improve the performance of speed control, the load torque is estimated by load torque observer and speed controller compensates this estimate value. Thus the robust vector control system against load torque disturbance is constructed.

  • In the vector-controlled induction machine drive, mechanical sensors restrict the wide applications of high performance AC drives. So in resent years, many papers have been presented which doesn't need mechanical sensors, named by sensorless vector control. But sensorless control has a few serious problem, one of which Is poor speed estimation in case of incorrect rotor resistance (Rr) information. This paper describes the stator flux orientation speed control strategy with the speed estimation algorithm. and the method of adapting Rr change due to thermal heating. By proposed method. We can acquire precise speed estimation and higher performance.

  • This paper is on realization of the speed-sensorless vector control of an induction motor using the RLS(Recursive Least Square) algorithm. The speed estimator is including the RLS algorithm and a rotor flux observer. The RLS algorithm has speed and rotor time constant as parameter vectors and rotor flux observer is designed to have robustness to stator resistance variation and through the IP(Integral and Proportional) speed controller stable performance is obtained for estimating rotor speed. Finally the total algorithm are realized in induction motor drive system and its effectiveness is verified.

  • A synthesis method of the reduced-order extended Luenberger observer (ROELO) and its design procedure for a nonlinear dynamic system are presented. This paper proposes a method to reduce the order of the observer and to ! elect the observer gain matrix. The proposed algorithm is applied for high performance induction motor drives without a speed sensor The simulation and experiment results show that the proposed ROELO provides both rotor flux and rotor speed estimation with good performance.

  • Speed sensors are required for the vector control of induction motors. These sensors reduce the sturdiness of the system and make it expensive. Therefore, a drive system without speed sensors is required. Also, the rotor inertia constant, the damping constant and the disturbed load torque of the IM are estimated by the RLS estimator and a torque observer. Then the observed disturbance torque is fed forward to increase the robustness of the IM speed drive.

  • The speed sensorless vector control of induction motor using the rotor speed and flux estimation is widely used. In practice, these schemes depend on the accurate parameters of the machine. If in the vector control scheme an inaccurate parameter of induction motor due to skin effects and to temperature variations is used. it is difficult to achieve correct field orientation. From this reason. we propose robust speed sensorless vector control of induction motor against the variations of parameter and disturbance by using extended Kalman filter. For speed and rotor flux estimation. conventional adaptive flux observer is applied. extended Kalman filter which is correctly capable of estimating rotor flux and load by eliminating virtually influences of structural noises is proposed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the control strategy proposed here for the induction motor drives.

  • This paper consists of the speed sensorless vector control of induction motors with the estimation of rotor resistance. In the application of variable-speed induction motor drives, if an inaccurate rotor resistance is used because the rotor resistance can change due to skin effects and temperature variables, it is difficult to achieve a collect field orientation. In this paper, to overcome these difficulties adaptive algorithm is designed for rotor resistance identification at the beginning of the transient state. And an adaptive flux observer is used for the purpose of estimating rotor flux and speed in the speed sensorless scheme. Computer simulations are carried out to verity the validity of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this study, the full-state flux observer is designed in the synchronous DQ-frame and the speed adaptation rule is derived by using the MRAS(Model Reference Adaptive System) theory. In this rule, the induction motor becomes a reference model and the flux observer is taken as a adjustable model. A guideline of the adaptation gain is investigated for the precise and stable speed adaptation and the proposed scheme is compared with the conventional one designed in the stationary DQ-frame.

  • A method for detecting the three-phase currents of a voltage-fed pulsewidth modulated(PWM) inverter is proposed by utilizing only one current sensor placed on the dc-link. The proposed space vector PWM technique is two phase modulated PWM, this enables to detect the phase currents from only one DC link current sensor. The proposed method is simple, reduces the cost, and provides the small detection errors.
