An analysis of chill-down process was performed for 30 tonf Turbopump-Gas generator coupled tests. The chill-down process must be fulfilled before liquid rocket engine test using cryogenic propellant. Cavitation, damage and/or combustion instability due to bubble of propellant must be eliminated by chill-down process in a test specimen, especially cryogenic pump. The analysis of test data obtained by 30 tonf TP-GG coupled tests was performed in order to be based on the test process of KSLV-II liquid propellant rocket engine which will be developed. To macroscopically understand the process of chill-down from the viewpoint of test procedure the temperatures of important part and total time of chill-down process were analyzed.
Air spoiler, which can reduce the drag during operation, can be considered as a possible means to reduce carbon dioxide emission and to increase fuel efficiency. In this study, a composite air spoiler was designed and tested by static and repeated loads. The Green Water Pressure of 0.1 MPa a ship experiences during operation was perpendicularly applied to the air spoiler. Air spoiler was manufactured with sandwich panel which has glass fabric face and balsa core. Multiple sandwich panels were assembled to steel frame by bolt joint. The joint was designed to have bearing failure and examined by static and fatigue tests. Tests showed that the designed joint has enough margin of safety to endure joint failure. The developed sandwich panel to air spoiler is planned to be applied to a large scale commercial ship.

In this study, a CFPBS (Cone-type Friction Pendulum Bearing System) was developed which controls the acceleration delivered to the structure to prevent damage and degradation of the critical communication equipment in case of an earthquake. The isolation performance of the CFPBS was evaluated by numerical analysis. The CFPBS was manufactured in the shape of a cone differenced from the existing FPS (Friction Pendulum System), and a pattern was engraved on the friction surface. The natural frequencies of the CFPBS were evaluated from a free-vibration test with the seismic isolator system consisting of four CFPBSs. In order to verify its earthquake-resistant performance, a numerical analysis program was created from the equation of the CFPBS induced from the equations of motion. A simplified theoretical equation of the CFPBS was proposed to manufacture the equipment which could demonstrate the necessary performance. Artificial seismic waves satisfying the maximum earthquake scale of the Korean Building Code-Structural (KBC-2005) were created and verified to review the earthquake-resistant performance of the CFPBS by numerical analysis. The superstructural mass of the CFPBS and skew angle of the friction surface were considered for numerical analysis with El Centro NS (1940), Kobe NS (1995) and artificial seismic waves. The CFPBS isolation performance evaluation was based on the results of numerical analysis and the executed comparative analysis between the results from numerical analysis and the simplified theoretical equation under the same conditions.

Military Vehicles of the Korean army had been developed before 2004 and used manual transmissions. Manual transmissions contain a clutch system regulating the force from engine to transmission. In this study, a 2.5-ton military vehicle's clutch system was investigated. The existing clutch system had the characteristics that need to adjust the clearance between the clutch cover and release bearing. Improper clearance led to early wear of the clutch disk and failure of the clutch cover. To solve these problems, an improved clutch system was suggested and tested. The improved clutch system contains auto adjustment of the clearance and an enhanced clutch disk. To verify the improved clutch systems, 2 stage tests were conducted: an accelerated life test of the clutch system, and a driving test by trainee of driving more than 3,000km. As a result, the problems caused by the improper clearance adjustment were solved and this design was verified.

Two-Way CAR-FERRY land and islands, islands to islands, the connection between sustainable marine transportation in conjunction with the increasing demand of tourists, according to the associated coastal maritime tourism and passenger transport has a role. Subsequent Two-Way CAR-FERRY and the increased ease of use due to berthing maritime accidents can be reduced. Two-Way CAR-FERRY as the draft (even) in the state on both sides of the propeller, because the propeller due to the small diameter, low speed forward flight by the reaction at the shaft and propeller damage can occur. Engine output accordingly, linear and torsional vibration reducer by, elastic coupling selection transverse vibration and shaft alignment (Shaft alignment) considering the shaft design (bearing size, width, thickness) and the primary drive shaft support portion of the hull structure of evaluated for quality.

In bridge abutment structures, lateral squeeze due to lateral stress of embankment placement and thermal movement of the bridge structure leads to failure of approach slabs, girders, and bridge bearings. Recently, GRS (Geosynthetic-Reinforced Soil) integral bridge has been proposed as a new countermeasure. The GRS integral bridge is a combining structure of a GRS retaining wall and an integral abutment bridge. In this study, numerical analyses which considered construction sequences and earthquake loading conditions are performed to compare the behaviors of conventional PSC (Pre-Stressed Concrete) girder bridge, traditional GRS integral bridge structure and GRS integral bridge with bracket structures (newly developed LH-type GRS integral bridge). The analysis results show that the GRS integral bridge with bracket structures is most stable compared with the others in an aspect of stress concentration and deformation on foundation ground including differential settlements between abutment and backfill. Furthermore, the GRS integral bridge with/without bracket structures was found to show the best performance in terms of seismic stability.

The pipe cleaning process is a crucial step in the shipbuilding process of a shipyard. It involves removing foreign substances from the inside of the pipes before moving on to the stage of testing equipment after installing the pipes. If there are foreign substances inside the pipes and the equipment is tested, the foreign substances can enter the high-priced equipment and become a factor in the breakdown of pumps, gears, bearings, and other components. Especially in the case of pumps or hydraulic valves, even small foreign substances can lead to major accidents if they enter the equipment, and such equipment accidents can be a potential cause of major disasters, leading to accidents involving workers operating the equipment in the vicinity. Therefore, it is a process that shipyard customers, who are shipowners, also focus on and manage very intensively. To solve these problems, this study developed a system that can increase the cleaning effect of the cleaning fluid inside the pipes by increasing the flow of the cleaning fluid inside the pipes in the existing pipe cleaning method.

Structural design and analysis of a coiling arm unloading machine for submarine cable have been originally conducted in this study. Three-dimensional CAD modeling process is practically applied for the structural design in detail. Finite element method(FEM) and multi-body dynamics(MBD) analyses are also used to verify the safety and required motions of the designed coiling arm structure. The effective moving functions of the designed coiling arm with respect to rotational and radial motions are achieved by adopting bearing-roller mechanical parts and hydraulic system. Critical design loading conditions due to its self weight, carrying cables, offshore wind, and hydraulic system over operation conditions are considered for the present structural analyses. In addition, possible inclined ground conditions for the installation of the designed coiling arm are also considered to verify overturn stability. The present hydraulic type coiling arm system is originally designed and developed in this study. The developed coiling arm has been installed at a harbor, successfully tested its operational functions, and finished practical unloading mission of the submarine cable.
