As the recent structure construction is constructed as a large-scale and deep underground excavation in close proximity to the building, the installation of retaining wall and supporters (Struts) has become complicated, and the number of supporters to avoid interference of the structural slab has increased. This construction process becomes a factor that causes an increase in construction joints of a structure, leakage and an increase in wall cracks. In addition, this reduced the durability and workability of the structure and led to an increase in the construction period. This study planned to dismantle the two struts simultaneously as a plan to reduce the construction joints, and corrected the earth pressure by assuming the reaction force value by the initial earth pressure and the measured data as the response ratio. After recalculating the corrected earth pressure through the iterative trial method, it was verified by numerical analysis that simultaneous disassembly of the two struts was possible. As a result of numerical analysis applying the final corrected earth pressure, the measured value for the design reaction force was found to be up to 197%. It was analyzed that this was due to the effect of grouting on the ground and some underestimation of the ground characteristics during design. Based on the result of calculating the corrected earth pressure in consideration of the response ratio performed in this study, it was proved analytically that the improvement of the brace dismantling process is possible. In addition, it was considered that the overall construction period could be shortened by reducing cracks due to leakage and improving workability by reducing construction joints. However, to apply the proposed method of this study, it is judged that sufficient estimations are necessary as there are differences in ground conditions, temporary facilities, and reinforcement methods for each site.
The use of berms can be an effective method to restrain excessive movements of wall and ground caused by deep excavations in urban area. But generally in construction sites, no berm remains for the sake of construction convenience or the geometry and magnitude of remaining berm is determined by individual experiences due to scarce research results. In this research, laboratory model tests and numerical analyses are used mainly for sandy soils. And efficient berms for restraining excessive movements by deep excavations are analyzed. Model tests were performed for the cases of cantilever and braced wall excavations, and the behaviors of retaining wall were analyzed according to the geometry and magnitude of berms. And also, numerical methods were used for analyzing efficient berms which are available in the soil and construction conditions in urban areas of Korea.

The relationship between ground surface settlements and wall displacements associated with excavation is analysed by the results of model test of anchored sheet-piles in loose sand. The effect of wall restriction at the toe, anchor slope, wall rigidity, and excavation level on settlement of ground surface and wall displacement are considered for model test. The results of model test are compared with the theory and the results of field measurement of braced wall. The results of analysis are shown by fitted regression equations that may be used for prediction of ground surface settlement adjacent to anchored sheet-piles. It is found that wall displacement and ground surface settlement associated with excavation are different from the supporting methods.
Recently, when being constructed the large structures, the deep excavations have performed to utilize the underground space. As the ground excavation is deeper, the damage of the adjacent structure and the ground is frequently occurred. the Analysis of the retaining structures is necessary to safety of the excavation works. There are many methods such as elasto-plastic theory, FEM, and FDM to analyze the displacement of the retaining structure. In this thesis, GEBA-1 program by the Nakamura-Nakajawa elasto-plastic method was developed. The lateral displacement of the wall was analyzed by the developed program GEBA-1, SUNEX, and EXCAD, and compared with the measured displacement bye the Inclinometer. The monitored fields were three excavation work site in S-I, S-II, and S-III area. Excavation method of each site is braced retaining wall using H-pile. Excavation depth is 14m, 14m, and 8.2m.

The main purpose of this study is to understand the existing and the architectural characteristics of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju. The method of this study is to research all the literature and to visit. The time of establishment of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju was mostly 1950's, and that time was the heyday of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church that was built in Korean. Catholicism was spread throughout Jeju during this time, and in the process, the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church was built. The Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju are sited mostly in coastal villages, and especially Catholicism was actively spread throughout the west of Jeju and the a large number Secondary Stations of Catholic Church were built in the west of Jeju. The Secondary Stations of Catholic Church were built between the mid-1950's to the mid-1960's. The plan type is kept as plan shaped of straight shape. When made an enlargement of the interior space and altered, framework of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church was generally maintained. The head of the side window and the front door have the same design characteristics. When the belfry is located, it is attached to an outer wall of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church, or is located to the left or the right the front of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church. The design of belfry found expression in various forms. The buttress are not located in the others but in Young-su Gong-So, and it has not the structural functions but the design functions.
The experiment of model soil structures has been executed for the soil retaining wall in various conditions of excavation, in this study, to analyze the behavior of the corner of opening. The ground for experiment has been constituted with the sandy soil of relatively loose density, the construction condition has been divided into the opening length of corner, embedded depth, existence of strut, etc., and the excavation has been carried out for 4 stages in total. The behavior characteristics at the corner of opening area has been verified by concentrate analysis of the displacement of wall and the subsidence of ground surface, for each construction and excavation condition, using the measuring instrument mounted inside the model soil structure. In the result of experiment, it has been analyzed that the opening area of corner is unstable structurally compared to the linear area, as it shows that the wall displacement and subsidence of ground surface have been increased when the opening length of corner gets longer. The longer the embedded depth, ground surface settlement of coner was decreased 40%. To apply deeper embedded depth than designed estimate was an advantage in the safety. As a result of the analysis of coner behavior with added struts, maximum surface settlement and maximum horizontal displacement was evaluated 40% and 30%, respectively. Hence increased embedded depth with the added struts in coner edge was effective in the safety.

In recent years, the development of complex urban areas has become saturated and much attention has been focused on the development of underground space, and deep excavation is frequently performed in order to increase the utilization of underground space due to the enlargement of buildings and the high rise of buildings. Therefore, in this study, we tried to understand the behavior of the braced wall and the behavior of the tunnel adjacent to the wall according to the stiffness of the wall and the distance between the tunnel and wall. As a result of the study, the deformation of the braced wall tended to decrease with increasing the stiffness of the wall, and the axial force acting on the struts was also different according to the stiffness of braced wall. When the stiffness of the braced wall is small (2 mm), the point at which the axial force of the braces maximizes is near 0.3H of the wall. When the stiffness of the braced wall is large (5 mm), the axial force is maximum at around 0.7H of the wall. Also, the tunnel convergence occurred more clearly when the separation distance from the braced wall was closer, the stiffness of the wall was smaller, and the tunnel convergence was concentrated to the lower right part. The ground settlement due to the excavation of the ground tended to decrease as the distance between tunnel and braced wall was closer to that of the tunnel, which is considered to be influenced by the stiffness of the tunnel.
In this study, gathered measuring data at fields constructed by IPS(Innovative Prestressed Support) system controls the ground displacement and improves the constructability of earth work and structure work greatly, and compared with horizontal displacement calculated by Elasto-plastic analysis program(EXCAV/W). As the result, displacement of calculated by pre-loading data is reduced 13.2% average of general method, and measuring displacement is also reduced 26.7% average of general method. Therefore that IPS system is more safe than conventional strut method in contrast to displacement of underground wall. In addition, horizontal displacement is reduced through the pre-loading effect used by IPS system.
Lateral earth pressure and horizontal displacement of the diaphragm walls constructed in multi-soil layers were analyzed by the field instrumentation from six building construction sites in urban area. The distribution of the developed earth pressure of the anchored diaphragm walls during excavation shows approximately a trapezoid diagram. The maximum earth pressure of anchored diaphragm walls corresponds to $0.45{\gamma}H$ and the earth pressure acts at the upper part of the walls. The maximum earth pressure is two times larger than the empirical earth pressure of flexible walls in sands suggested by Terzaghi and Peck(1967), Tschebotarioff(1973), and Hong and Yun(1995a). The horizontal displacement of diaphragm walls is closely related with supporting systems such as struts, anchors, and so on. The horizontal displacement of anchored walls shows less than 0.1 percent of the excavated depth, and the horizontal displacement of strutted walls shows less than 0.25 percent of the excavated depth. Therefore, the restraining effect of horizontal displacement to the anchored diaphragm walls is larger than the strutted diaphragm walls. In addition, since the horizontal displacement of the diaphragm walls is lower than the criterion, $\delta=0.25%H$, used for control the anchored retention wall using soilder piles, the safety of excavation sites applied with the diaphragm walls is pretty excellent.

Recently, the deep excavations have been peformed to utilize the under ground space. As the ground excavation is deeper, the damage of the adjacent structure and the ground occurs frequently. The analysis of the retaining structures is necessary to the safety of the excavation works. There are many methods such as elasto-plastic, FEM, and FDM to analyze the displacement of the retaining structure. The elasto-plastic method is generally used in practice. In this thesis, GEBA-1 program by the Nakamura-Nakajawa elasto-plastic method was developed. The program for Windows was used the Visual Basic 6.0, and the Main of the program consists of three subroutines, SUB1, SUB2, and SUB3. The lateral displacement of the wall was analyzed by the developed program GEBA-1, SUNEX, and EXCAD, and compared with the measured displacement by the Inclinometer(at three excavation work sites). The excavation method of each site is braced retaining wall using H-pile. Each excavation depth is 14m, 14m, or 8.2m. The results of the analyses are the followings ① In the multi-layer soil, the lateral displacement by the GEBA-1 and EXCAD which is considering the distribution of the strut load is equal to the measured displacement. Elasto-plasto programs can't consider the change of the ground water in clay. Therefore, the analysis displacement was expected only 20% of the measured wall displacement. ③ At the final excavation step, the maximum lateral displacement of analysis and field occurred 7∼18m at the 85∼92% of the excavation depth. ④ The maximum lateral displacement in clay, as 50mm, occurred on the ground surface.
