  • There is boner process of stone manufacturing to become quality down of stone to consolidated micro crack appearance of stone surface and biotite by fire that is to be route process in stone surface by flame of LPG. And then, it is develop that stone surface process equipment by automation for the work method of boner process can be substitute work method by water jet To development of equipment, There is to be down noise and dust. According to remove calamity growth hazardous substance in the work environment, there is to solve workplace avoidance factor.

  • Coal gasification process, which had developed originally to convert coal from hydrogen and carbon monoxide, has used and developed in many countries because of environmental advantages such as carbon dioxide storage, decrease of pollutants and so on. Generally entrained-flow gasification process using pulverized coal under $75{\mu}m$ is used in Integrated Gas Combined Cycle(IGCC) because of easy scale up and high efficiency of energy conversion. Especially entrained-flow gasifers with coal water slurry have been used in many applications due to its fully developed technologies. In this paper, several technologies for coal-water slurry gasification that involves slurry preparation, burner, gasifier, slag melting and numerical simulation for plant design and operation were investigated. Entrained-flow gasification with coal water slurry can be used for synfuel production, SNG, chemicals as well as IGCC. To develop hybrid gasification process and use different types of coal, it is necessary to develop new technologies that will increase efficiency of the process.

Partial premixed combustion modeling of diffusion flame burner for SiO2 deposition as optical fiber cladding (광섬유 클래딩용 SiO2 증착을 위한 확산 화염 버너의 부분 예혼합 연소 모델링)

  • In this study, the flame temperature distribution of the diffusion flame burner for SiO2 deposition was analyzed by the computational fluid analysis. This corresponds to the previous step for simulating the SiO2 preform deposition process for manufacturing optical fibers using environmentally friendly raw materials. In order to model premixed combustion, heat flow, convection, and chemical reactions were considered, and Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and k-ω models were used. As a result, the temperature distribution of the flame showed a tendency to increase the distance from the nozzle surface to the maximum temperature when the flow rate of the auxiliary oxygen increased. In addition, it was confirmed that the temperature distribution due to incomplete combustion was large in the combustion reaction with a large equivalence ratio of the mixed gas.

  • 천연가스의 주성분인 순수 메탄에 대한 촉매 산화반응은 Pd촉매가 가장 양호하나 LP가스의 주성분인 프로판에 대해서는 Pt촉매가 가장 양호한 결과를 보였다. 그러나 유황 피독된 Pd촉매는 메탄에 대해 영구피독 현상을 보였고, fresh한 Pd촉매는 연료 중 미량의 유황분량에 의해 반응 개시온도가 지연되는 경향을 보였다. 이와 같은 촉매독 영향이 적은 Rh촉매버너를 개발하여 8000시간 이상 성공적인 연소 실험을 하고 있으며 C 방적의 염색 시험기에 적응 실험한 결과 기존의 적외선 전기 건조기에 비해 에너지 절감은 약30-40%를 기하였고 연료비는 70-80%의 절약효과를 얻었다.

  • 50 kW$_{th}$ 용량의 기체연료버너에서 암모니아 기체와 요소용액을 이용한 선택적 무촉매 환원법 (SNCR;Selective Non-catalytic Reduction) 으로 질소산화물 (NOx) 저감에 관하여 연구하였다. 암모니아는 요소요액보다 더 낮은 반응온도에서 더 높은 효율을 보여주지만 경제성과 암모니아의 부식성 및 맹독성으로 인하여 취급하기에 곤란한 점이 있다. 반면에 요소용액은 적절한 액상첨가제와 기상첨가제를 사용하여 넓은 반응온도범위에서 높은 효율을 얻을 수 있으며 공정상의 조업비를 절감할 수 있다. 본 실험에서는 액상 첨가제인 $CH_3$OH 와 $C_2$H$_{5}$OH 을 사용하여 5$0^{\circ}C$ 정도의 최적반응온도 감소를 얻었으며 LPG 와 합성가스(CH$_4$:CO:H$_2$:$CO_2$=1:4:4:2) 틀 기상 첨가제로 사용하여 높은 질소산화물 저감 효율을 관찰하였다.

Trigeneration Based on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells Driven by Macroalgal Biogas (거대조류 바이오가스를 연료로 하는 고체산화물 연료전지를 이용한 삼중발전)

  • In this paper, the commercial feasibility of trigeneration, producing heat, power, and hydrogen (CHHP) and using biogas derived from macroalgae (i.e., seaweed biomass feedstock), are investigated. For this purpose, a commercial scale trigeneration process, consisting of three MW solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), gas turbine, and organic Rankine cycle, is designed conceptually and simulated using Aspen plus, a commercial process simulator. To produce hydrogen, a solid oxide fuel cell system is re-designed by the removal of after-burner and the addition of a water-gas shift reactor. The cost of each unit operation equipment in the process is estimated through the calculated heat and mass balances from simulation, with the techno-economic analysis following through. The designed CHHP process produces 2.3 MW of net power and 50 kg hr-1 of hydrogen with an efficiency of 37% using 2 ton hr-1 of biogas from 3.47 ton hr-1 (dry basis) of brown algae as feedstock. Based on these results, a realistic scenario is evaluated economically and the breakeven electricity selling price (BESP) is calculated. The calculated BESP is ¢10.45 kWh-1, which is comparable to or better than the conventional power generation. This means that the CHHP process based on SOFC can be a viable alternative when the technical targets on SOFC are reached.

  • 수소의 소규모 분산 생산 기술은 본격적 인 수소 인프라가 도입되기 전에 연료전지 자동차의 수소 충 전용이나 분산 발전형 연료전지의 수소 공급을 위해 필요하다. 생산 용량은 수소 기준으로 $10\~100 Nm^3/hr$ 정도로 현재로선 천연가스의 수증기 개질법이 가장 경제적인 공정으로 알려져 있다. 소규모 생산에 따른 열효율 저하를 줄이 기 위해 단위 공정들이 통합된 컴팩트 개질 시스템의 개발이 필요하다. 핵심 기술인 컴팩트 리포머의 국산화 기술 확보를 위하여 $20 Nm^3/hr$용량의 동심관형 리포머를 설계, 제작하였다. 내부구조는 제작의 단순화를 고려하여 중첩된 동심관이 배열되었고 압력 손실과 열웅력 발생을 억제하도록 유로를 배치하였다. 수증기개질 반응에 필요한 반응열은 리포머 본체에 부착된 버너를 이용하여 공급하였다. 성능 측정을 위한 부속 기기로 상온 흡착식 탈황기, 폐열 회수형 수증기 발생기, 반응물 예열을 위한 열교환기, 생성 가스 응축기를 설계 제작하여 전체 리포밍 시스템을 구성하였다. 반응 온도 $680\~720^{\circ}C$, 탄소 대 수중기 비(S/C ratio) $2.7\~3.2$ 조건에서 수증기 개질 반응을 수행하였다. 해당 반응 조건에서 메탄 전환율 $89\%$ 이상, 저위 발열량 기준 개질 열효율 $70\%$ 이상을 달성하였고 개질 생성가스 내 수소의 최대 유량은 $23.4Nm^3/h$였다. 개발된 리포밍 시스템은 고순도 수소 생산이 필요한 경우, 수소 수율 향상을 위한 고온 수성 가스 전화 반응기를 통합 가능하도록 열교환기 구성을 조정할 수 있으며 용융 탄산염 연료전지와 같이 고온형 연료전지의 경우 $550^{\circ}C$ 이상으로 개질 생성 가스를 공급하도록 구성할 수도 있다. 향후 리포머 본체의 개질 효율 향상 및 장치 소형화, 부속 기기의 최적화를 통한 전체 리포밍 시스템 개선, 스케일 업 설계를 위한 엔지니어링 설계 패키지 구성을 계획하고 있다.

Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) Simulation for a Pilot-scale Selective Non-catalytic Reduction(SNCR) Process Using Urea Solution (요소용액을 이용한 파일럿규모 SNCR 공정에 대한 CFD 모델링 및 모사)

  • The selective non-catalytic reduction(SNCR) performance is sensitive to the process parameters such as flow velocity, reaction temperature and mixing of reagent(ammonia or urea) with the flue gases. Therefore, the knowledge of the velocity field, temperature field and species concentration distribution is crucial for the design and operation of an effective SNCR injection system. In this work, a full-scale two-dimensional computational fluid dynamics(CFD)-based reacting model involving a droplet model is built and validated with the data obtained from a pilot-scale urea-based SNCR reactor installed with a 150 kW LPG burner. The kinetic mechanism with seven reactions for nitrogen oxides($NO_x$) reduction by urea-water solution is used to predict $NO_x$ reduction and ammonia slip. Using the turbulent reacting flow CFD model involving the discrete droplet phase, the CFD simulation results show maximum 20% difference from the experimental data for NO reduction. For $NH_3$ slip, the simulation results have a similar tendency with the experimental data with regard to the temperature and the normalized stoichiometric ratio(NSR).

Characteristics of a Plasma-Dump Combustor for VOC Destruction (VOC 분해 플라즈마-덤프 연소기 특성)

  • VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are generally generated in the painting process, or at the company and laundry where use organic solvents. The VOCs consist of various hydrocarbons and has low calorific value due to its dilution with atmospheric air. Therefore, the VOCs are difficult to burn by a conventional fuel combustor. In this study, a novel plasma dump combustor was proposed for the treatment of low calorific VOC gases. This combustor was designed a combination of the characteristics in a plasma burner, a dump combustor and a 3D matrix burner. The combustor has good structure for maintaining enough residence time and reaction temperature for stable flame formation and VOC destruction. For investigating the performance characteristics of the plasma dump combustor, an experiment was achieved for VOC feed rate, VOC injector position, etc. Toluene was used as a surrogate of VOC. The novel combustor gave better performance than a conventional combustor, showing that VOC destruction rate and energy efficiency were 89.64% and 12.27 kg/kWh respectively, at feeding rate of 450 L/min of VOC of 3,000 ppm of toluene concentration.

Development of Eco-friendly Combustion Process for Waste 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (폐 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene의 환경 친화적 연소처리공정 개발)

  • In this study, an eco-friendly combustion process of waste 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT: 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene) was developed, and fundamental data for the quantity of the organic matter in the final combustion residues is presented. Because complete combustion of TNT is not possible theoretically, the combustion process was optimized to reduce organic matter content in the combustion residue by performing measures such as heating time changes, addition of propellant material, and after treatment using a high-temp electrical furnace. From the results, it was confirmed that the organic matter content in the residue could be decreased to 7 ~ 10% with each method. The quantity of the organic matter could be minimized by optimizing the combustion conditions of the process. With only a combustion time increase, the amount of organic matter in the combustion residues was measured at about 9 wt%. The environmental friendliness of the final exhaust gas was also confirmed by real time gas component analyses. In addition, the organic contents could be reduced by a further 2 wt% by applying an additional heat treatment using an external electric furnace after the first incineration treatment. In the combustion process of propellant added waste TNT, it was found that various TNT wastes could be treated using the same eco-friendly protocols because the organic content in the residue decreased in accordance with the amount of propellant. The amount of the organic matter content produced by all these methods fulfilled the requirements under the Waste Management Act.
