A liquid rocket engine goes through many tests to prove its performance before liftoff. It means the tests for setting ignition and start-up conditions or a test on design condition, which verifies the design performance. However, the development process requires verification of performance under off-design conditions through tests involving different operating conditions, which affects the duration of engine development. The off-design performance test is performed by altering the conditions of the propellant supplied to the engine in conjunction with the engine performance test that varies the opening of the control valves in the engine. This paper is based on the results of the engine tests performed at the KSLV-II engine test facilities in the Naro Space Center and describes the operations of the test facility for off-design condition test that changes the inlet conditions of the turbo-pump due to changes in the pressure and temperature of the propellant supplied to the test engines.

Hybrid Electronic Vehicle (HEV) is one of the solutions of high oil price and environment problem. Recently, study of HEV is important for automobile industry. However HEV has a lot of components and there are many cases for assembling, it's impossible to test results from assembling by using real vehicles. To solve this problem, hybrid system simulator is required. The purpose of this study is to develop and optimize of engine module for hybrid system simulator. The commercial 1-D engine simulation program, WAVE is used to get the engine capacity and performance data and 1-D simulation model of base engine is compared with engine experiment results. Using the data, the engine module is developed based on the MATLAB Simulink. There are blocks of base engine, Single-CVVT engine and Dual-CVVT engine. The effect of acceleration and deceleration is applied to each engine block. In addition, the control and processing logics for CIS technology are developed. Finally the simulator operates FTP-72 mode test.

The cabin pressurization system response should be consistent with the design limits such as the cabin pressure schedule, the pressure regulation tolerance, the maximum rate of pressure change during normal and abnormal operation and the maximum cabin air inflow rate change. In this paper, the results of pressure loss analysis and flight test for cabin pressurization system of T-50 advanced trainer are introduced. The pressure tolerance at unpressurized condition using calculated exit area of pressurization components through pressure loss analysis is predicted. Pressurization components of D company are selected and the predicted pressure tolerance is in good agreement with flight test results. Finally, T-50 pressurization system is verified by some flight tests of T-50 advanced trainer to comply with various pressurization design criteria of MIL-E-18927.

Research and development of LP EGR system for the performance improvement and emission reduction on diesel engine is proceeding at a good pace. LP EGR system seems to be helpful method to further reduce$NO_x$ emissions while maintaining PM emissions at a low level because the boost pressure is unchanged while varying EGR rate. This study is experimentally conducted on a 2.0L common rail DI engine at the medium load condition (2000 rpm, BMEP 1.0 MPa, boost pressure 181.3 kPa) that difficult to use large amount of EGR gas because of deteriorations of performance and fuel consumption. And we investigated the characteristics of performance and fuel consumption while varying EGR systems. The overall results using LP EGR system equipped with ETC identified benefits on reduction of PM and improvement of fuel consumption and thermal efficiency while keep the $NO_x$ level compared to HP EGR and LP EGR with back pressure valve.

In this study, we develop a pressure observer to measure the cylinder length of a harbor-construction robot. For the robot control, sensors are required to measure the length of a hydraulic cylinder. The cylinder-position sensor is relatively expensive when the operating environment prohibits external approaches for the measurement of the cylinder position. LVDT or linear scales are usually mounted on the outside of the cylinder, which causes poor durability on a construction site. We use a pressure sensor to indirectly estimate the length of the cylinder. The pressure sensor is mounted inside a hydraulic valve box so that it is protected by the box and easy to waterproof for an underwater robot. By treating oil as a compressible fluid, we derive the nonlinear pressure dynamics as a function of the cylinder position, velocity, and pressure. The recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm is applied to identify the dynamic parameters, and the pressure observer estimates the cylinder position through the pressure acting on the head and the rod of the hydraulic cylinder. The position accuracy is relatively low, but it is acceptable for a construction robot that handles large armor stones.

Tolerance accumulation has serious effect on the performance of an assembled body. This paper proposes the method which analyzes tolerance accumulation using Monte Carlo Simulation. This method can predict tolerance distribution of fully assembled body using the dimensional tolerance distribution of each part to be assembled. In this analysis, it is assumed that the tolerance of each part has the nominal distribution or uniform distribution. This analysis method is applied to ECV(External Control Valve), and the accumulated tolerance of the fully assembled ECV is obtained from the analysis. The results show that initial tolerance given to each part do not meet the design requirement of ECV. Hence, the tolerances of each part are modified and the additional analysis with the modified tolerances yields the results which satisfy the design requirements of ECV.

This research aims in finding a more optimal ejector size for evacuating engine exhaust gasses and 20% of the cell cooling air. The remaining 80% of cell cooling air pumped into the test chamber is separately exhausted from the test chamber via a discharge port fitted with flow control valves and vacuum pump. Unlike its predecessor this configuration utilizes a smaller capture area to improve pressure recovery. The modified ejector size has a diameter of 1100mm enough to evacuate 66kg/s jet engine exhaust in addition to about 20%, 24kg/s of the cell cooling air tapped from the sterling chamber. This configurations has an area ratio of the engine exit and ejector inlet of about 1.2. Simulation results of the proposed ejector configuration, indicates improved pressure recovery.

In case of massive water leakage, it's crucial for field manager to quickly positioning the problematic valve and related ones. However, it's not easy for the system to find the corresponding valve and even if it's found, it can not respond quickly because it can't know the relevant information immediately. In this paper, we implement the system for identifying sluice valve positions using GPS and AR techniques. The proposed system is composed of hand held android device, remote database server and data acquisition device for DB creation. We utilize the android device's sensors including GPS, gyro, accelerometer, magnetic sensor. The system identifies the valve with matching between the position data from the remote database server, and current GPS locations of device. We use AR techniques to overlay the graphics pattern of valve positions and some additional informations on captured real scene. With this system, it will be fast and accurate for maintenance of sluice valve of municipal water system.

This paper aims to build a home security system based on IoT to monitor a home on a mobile phone. The system consists of data gathering sensors, camera, gateway and Xively platform. The Raspberry Pi collects data from the three sensors and sends the data to Xively, and sends the video stream of home to a client in a smart phone through a internet. The servers are composed of Xively, socket server in Raspberry Pi and E-mail server in Google. The proposed system transmits e-mail, text message, and video stream when there are motion, fire, and gas leakage, and can control the gas valve through Raspberry Pi. The experimental results show that a user gets 'emergency E-mail' and text message and watches the video stream of the home through WIFI or LTE on a smart phone.
In the natural gas pressure regulation station, high pressure natural gas is decompressing using pressure regulation valves. Waste pressure occurred in the pressure regulation process can be recovered through adopting turbo expanders. However, in the waste pressure recovery process, Joule Thompson effect causes below $0^{\circ}C$ and this low temperature freezes outside land of pipeline or generates methane hydrate in the pipeline which can block the pipeline. Therefore, turbo expander systems are accompanying with a boiler for preheating natural gas. Molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC), one of the high temperature fuel cell, can use natural gas as a direct fuel and is also exhausting low emission gas and generating electricity. In this paper, a thermodynamic analysis on the hybrid MCFC-turbo expander system is conducted. The fuel cell system is analyzed for the base load of the hybrid system.
