In order to prevent cervical cancer, free vaccination against cervical cancer(HPV vaccine) for 12-year-old girls has been ongoing since June 2016. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the media reported the risk information of HPV vaccine side effects and to suggest implications for government's risk communication and policy PR. The time frame was divided into two stages, stage 1(policy formation stage, 6 months before the start of free HPV vaccination) and stage 2(policy execution stage, 6 months after the free HPV vaccination was implemented). A total of 314 news articles on HPV vaccine safety and HPV Vaccine side effects were analyzed by content analysis and network analysis. The number of articles increased at stage 2 and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention emphasized the safety of HPV vaccine and encouraged the inoculation while highlighting the effectiveness of the vaccine. Regarding HPV vaccine side effects, cases against vaccination in Japan were mainly reported at stage 1, whereas cases of HPV vaccine side effects from other countries such as Europe and USA were frequently reported at stage 2. In order to increase vaccination rate of HPV vaccine, it is time to take a strategic approach to prevent vague fear or anxiety about the vaccine.

최근 야외에서 ND가 간간히 발생하고 있다는 소식이 들려오고 있다. 우리나라의 경우 ND 발생의 경우 독특한 양상을 띠고 있다. 첫째는 $2\~3$년의 주기로 발생이 되고 있으며 둘째는 $4\~6$월 사이에 발생이 집중 된다는 점이다. 고병원성 가금 인플루엔자(HPAI)를 겪은 우리에게 혹 긴장감이 느슨해지면서 농장의 차단 방역과 방역에 소홀해짐으로 올 봄 ND 대유행의 홍역을 치르는 것은 아닌지 다시 한번 경각심을 가져 보게 되면서 농장에서 관심을 갖고 있는 ND 분무 접종에 대해 이야기해보고자 한다. $5\~6$년 전까지만 해도 분무 백신에 대한 관심이 별로 없었던 게 사실이다. 그전 같았으면 음수 백신으로 백신 방법을 대치하고 말았을 것을 분무 백신을 해야 하는지? 또 어떻게 해야 하는지? 주의해야 할 점은 무엇인지? 등 여러 가지 질문을 받게 된다. 농장 부화장으로부터 분무기에 대한 관심도 부쩍 높아졌고, 이제는 대부분의 농가들이 분무 백신의 효능과 안전성에 대해 확신을 갖고서 꾸준히 실시하고 있는 것을 알 수가 있다. 대부분 많은 시행착오를 거쳐 나름대로의 기술력을 갖추게 되었고 많은 효과를 보고 있다고 말할 수가 있다. 그러나 아직 일부 농가들은 분무 백신 후 방어력과 후유증 즉, 안전성에 대해 많은 의심을 갖고 있으면서 시간과 노동력이 많이 소요되는 점안 백신을 하는 경우도 종종 보고있다. 이에 수년간의 경험을 통해 필자가 보는 견지에서 분무 백신을 하는데 있어 여러 가지 고려해야 할 사항, 주의 사항, 효과를 최대한 높이기 위한 방법 등을 알아보고자 한다.

This study was performed to verify the efficacy and safety of vaccine mixed formalin killed Edwardsiella tarda and formalin killed Streptococcus iniae in olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. Sera were obtained from each group at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks after vaccination and agglutination titers to E. tarda and S. iniae were determined using the microtiter method. Three weeks after vaccination, the fish challenged by intraperitoneal injection of E. tarda or S. iniae and immunization resulted in a relative percentage survival (RPS) of above 81.0-92.8%. Neither the groups vaccinated nor control groups resulted in significantly reduced weight gain 140 days post-vaccination, but differences between the groups vaccinated and control groups were found at the early days post-vaccination. This results suggest that it is possible to prevent edwardsiellosis and streptococosis after a vaccination without affecting growth of olive flounder.

In the process of vaccine delivery and vaccination, temperature is mostly controlled by an insulated containers containing ice. Moreover, amount of wasted vaccine is significant because the temperature of the vaccine is not properly controlled. A core challenge of vaccination is temperature data monitoring, since it is critical for managing and operating strategical vaccination by health organizations. In this research, a real-time monitoring vaccine carrier system was developed. Temperature, location, and power consumption data of the vaccine carrier were monitored and working performances of the vaccine carrier were tested in both Korea and Tanzania (Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions). For both places, Short Message Service (SMS) communication method was used to send information of the carrier's status. As a result, the monitoring system was able to transmit and receive real-time data of the vaccine carrier status while the vaccine carrier was tested. The vaccine status data can be accessed from any location through the cloud server and web-based user interface.

This study investigated knowledge about the human papillomavirus (HPV), attitudes toward HPV vaccination, and intention to receive HPV vaccination among marriage-immigrant women, and identified factors associated with intention to receive HPV vaccination. The subjects of this study were 136 marriage-immigrant women in J Province. Data were collected from September 28 to December 21, 2017, and analyzed using SPSS for Windows version 24.0. The participants' knowledge of HPV was low (mean score, 2.74) and their attitude towards HPV vaccination was positive (mean score, 36.66). The factors affecting the intention to take the HPV vaccination included Vietnamese nationality (odds ratio [OR]=2.899, p=.048), desire for education about the HPV vaccine (OR=5.967, p<.001), and a positive attitude towards HPV vaccination (OR=1.083, p=.034). Therefore, educational programs about HPV vaccination targeting marriage-immigrant women are needed. It is also necessary to provide accurate information about the HPV vaccination using various methods, at health care facilities and through mass media.

1980년대 초 후천성면역결핍증의 원인 병원체가 인체면역결핍바이러스로 밝혀진 이후 그 동안 많은 치료제가 개발되어 사용되고 있으며 궁극적으로 질병의 예방을 위한 백신 개발을 위해 많은 과학자들이 연구를 진행하고 있다. 그러나 아직까지 상용화된 백신은 개발되지 않고 있는 실정이다. 그동안 30개가 넘는 후보 물질에 80여개가 넘는 임상 연구가 시행되었으나 만족할 만한 결과를 얻지 못했으며 이렇게 백신 개발에 어려움을 겪고 있는 이유는 여러 가지가 있다. 우선 백신 개발에 적합한 실험 동물 모델이 매우 제한되어 있어 사람을 대상으로 연구를 해야 하는 어려움이 있다. 또한 바이러스의 유전적 다양성으로 인하여 이들에게 모두 효과적인 백신을 만들기는 대단히 어렵다. 그럼에도 불구하고 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있으며 최근에는 과거와 달리 새로운 접근 방법들도 시도되고 있다.
