Damping characteristics of chemically treated solls were studied by the use of FFT Analyzer and Bandwidth method. Also Modal Analysis was performed for the solidified silty sand samples. The soil samples were made of gravelly sand, sand, and silty sand, treated by water-glass chemical grouts. As the result of the study, it was found that the chemical grouting could be used for the vibration diminutinn effect as well as cut-off effect and strength improvement by the fact that the damping ratio of chemically treated soils was highly increased as the damping ratio of solidified soil was 0.11~0.22 and rathier high values in compare with the damping ratio of common soils which was 0.01~0.10.

The study investigates the effects of the content and using method of chemical admixtures such as superplasticizer and viscosity modifying admixture on the fluidity, bleeding ratio, volumetric change and compressive strength of the grout in order to provide basic data for the development of high-quality grout for prestressed concrete. It appeared that the combination of superplasticizer and viscosity modifying admixture decreased the fluidity of grout with small content of superplasticizer. On the contrary, Grout used more than 0.1% of superplasticizer appeared to have significant effect on the improvement of the fluidity. On the other hand, bleeding of grout reduced according to increasing the content of viscosity modifying admixture. Superplasticizer with less than 0.05% had practically no effect on the reduction of bleeding, whereas superplasticizer with more than 0.1% appear to have significant effect on the reduction of bleeding. Also the combination of superplasticizer with 0.15% and viscosity modifying admixture with 0.15% resulted in satisfactory fluidity accompanied with fair reduction of bleeding and shrinkage of the grout.

Cards made from PVC and PET materials do not oxidize or decompose readily, so they are generally incinerated or landfilled after use and cause pollution problems, such as environmental hormones and combustion gases during incineration. In addition, there is a problem of environmental pollution because they are discarded as semi-permanent refuse without being decomposed at landfill. This study attempted to solve this problem using polylactic acid (PLA), which is a representative biodegradable material as a substitute material that can solve the issues with these cards. On the other hand, when the thin card core sheet is made from only PLA material, the physical properties of the material are insufficient, such as the low temperature impact strength, high temperature stability, and poor bending properties, so its use is limited. To solve this problem, the compositional ratio of PLA was reviewed, and the optimal biodegradable compound composition was determined through an examination of the compositions, such as crystallization nucleating agents, additives, and nano compound technology. The high functionalization as a biodegradable card was verified through a laminating process using annealing technology.

HPFRCC (High-Performance Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composites), which is relatively more ductile and has the characteristic of high toughness with high fiber volume fractions, can be used in structures subjected to extreme loads and exposed to durability problems. In the case of using PVA(polyvinyl alcohol) fibers, it is noted by former studies that around 2% fiber volume fractions contributes to the most effective performance at HPFRCC. In this study, therefore, compressive and flexural tests were implemented to evaluate the compressive and flexural capacities of HPFRCC while the total fiber volume fractions was fixed at 2% and two different PVA fibers were used with variable fiber volume fractions to control the micro-crack and macro-crack with short and long fibers, respectively. Moreover, specimens reinforced with steel and PVA fiber simultaneously were also tested to estimate their behavior and finally find out the optimized mixture. In the result of these experiments, the specimen consists of 1.6% short fibers (REC 15) and 0.4% long fiber (RF4000) outperformed other specimens. When a little steel fibers added to the mixture with 2% PVA fibers, the flexural capacity was increased, however, when high steel fiber volume fractions applied, the flexural capacity was decreased.

This study is focused on applying heavyweight concrete to ballast used to have stability of a ship. Generally, heavyweight concrete is made from a high density aggregate like magnetite or limonite. However, these materials are hard to obtain them from relevant companies and so expensive. Therefore, this study plans to product heavyweight ballast concrete which is easy to obtain by recycled iron slag. Heavyweight ballast concrete isn't required to meet some compressive strength in use, but it is required to have high flowable and 2.7t/m3 of bulk density to fill the ballast tank densely. The designed field mix proportion of concrete based on the results of pre-experiment shows it can control the temperature crack and has superior chloride corrosion resistance after conducting chloride corrosion experiment. Also, it is prefer that before airtightness voltile corrosion inhibiter(VCI) is added in airtight space of shipyard.
The treatment and hauling of surplus soils which occur from construction activity are costly and have been demanding a reasonable recycling method. This study presents laboratory test results regarding the mechanistic properties of asphalt stabilized soils. The foamed asphalt equipment which generates the asphalt bubble was used to mix the soil. The marshall stability, indirect tensile test, resilient modulus, creep test and triaxial test(UU) were conducted to find out the performance of the asphalt stabilized soil. The test results were compared with the samples that fabricated in different conditions(the samples without asphalt and the reinforced samples using 2% cement). The inclusion of the asphalt in the soil has improved the marshall stability, resilient modulus and moisture susceptibility, and the addition of the 2% cement has even more increased these properties. The amount of the fines and the optimum moisture contents for mixing affects the mechanistic properties and important parameters for mix design.

Concrete is cheap, easy to deal with, and the quality is satisfactory. Also, it is one of the easiest materials to get because chemical composition of cement is similar to chemical composition of surface. On the other hand, it is so vulnerable to transform because of weak binding capacity and low binding energy that it produces cracks. Cracks decline durability, usability, safety of structures and damage exterior. In order to decline drying shrinkage crack, this study used shrinkage reducing typed Superplasticizer, which is combination of and water-reducing agent for convenience, different with existing study using AE agent, water-reducing agent, shrinkage reducing agent,. Considering SRS field application possibility, this study planned to mix concrete and mortar generally used in ready-mixed concrete company and did basic experiment depending on a change of SRS content ratio and admixture. Based on the experiment result. It is judged that SRS admixture 2% is proper ratio when Given the intensity and length change. Also mass combination will conduct follow-up studies.
This research investigates the effects of shrinkage reducing agent (SRA) on the mechanical behavior of strain-hardening cement composite (SHCC). SHCC material with specified compressive strength of 50 MPa was mixed and tested in this study. All SHCC mixes reinforced with volume fraction of 2.2% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber and test variables are type and dosage of shrinkage reducing agents. The shrinkage reducing materials used in this study are phase change material as the thermal stress reducing materials that have the ability to absorb or release the heat. The effect of SRA was examined based on the change in length caused by shrinkage and hardened mechanical properties, specially compressive, tensile and flexural behaviors, of SHCC material. It was noted that SRA reduces change in length caused by shrinkage at early age. SRA can also improve the tensile and flexural strengths and toughness of SHCC material used in this study.

Turbulent jet flow has been studied in many ways; a plane jet, a rectangular jet, an annular jet, a round jet, a wall jet, a parallel jet, a valve jet, a cross jet, a slit jet and etc. In this report, a 45.deg. cross jet flow was tried by using two same dimensioned nozzels(dia..phi.20)which were set up at the exit of the subsonic wind tunnel. Each jet flows to the direction of 22.5.deg. to the axis of downstream of the mixed flow. The centerline of each jet meets at the distance of 217.3mm and their mixing flow could be imagined to develop beyond that distance, so the measurement was effectuated at X/X$_{0}$=1.2-1.5. The section of the mixed flow a elliptic circle which is formed by the 22.5.deg. inclined flows to the X direction. This experimental study aimed at the investigation of the turbulent mixing process of two jets; the mean velocities, the turbulent shear stresses, the correlation coefficients, and the momentum were respectively measured. The mean velocity distribution profiles of the down-stream component measured in the Y direction coincide well with the empirical equation of Gortler and those measured in the Z direction agree with the equation of H. Schlichting. Other mean velocities V over bar and W over bar components were randomly distributed. The higher values with same order of the intensity of turbulence were largely distributed at the central part of the flow. The momentum was decreased up to 70% by the shock losses and the development of intense turbulences, but it kept its value constantly beyond X/d=14. Two-channel hot-wire anemometer systems (model 1050 series), X-type hot-wire made of tungsten (dia. .phi.e.mu.m, long 3mm, model 0252 T5), a computer(model HP 9845B0, and a plotter (model HP 9872C) were used for the experiments and the analyses.s.

45.deg. corss jet flow, at the mixing of two jet flows, was experimentally studied. For this study, only the statistical turbulent characteristics and high order moments will be analysed by on-line computer system (hot-wire anemometer system, dynamic analyser and computer system, plotting and printing system). Since mean velocity distributions, intensities of turbulence, Reynolds stresses, correlation coefficients, and other general results were already studied and presented. One dimensional probability density distributions of u', v', and w' were analysed comparing with Gaussian curve, which showed skew and flat tendency according to the Y and Z directions. For the analysis of the joint flow of turublent components, the joint probability density distributions were examined. The fagures were drawn so as to be read joint probabilities, joint probability densities, fluctuating velocities u', v', and w'. For further detailed examination of the variations of skewness and flatness phenomena, iso-joint probability density contours obtained from the profiles of the joint probability density distributions were studied. According to the displacement of positions from the center of the mixing flow and the directions, the flatness and skewness factors were increased.
