Design and Implementation of Charger Monitoring System Based on CAN Protocol (CAN 통신 기반 충전 모니터링 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • On this paper, we proposed a design rule of charger monitoring system which allow us to watch the charging status and verify it for building the electric chargers infrastructure by spread of electric vehicle. Gathering the charging status of battery by proposed system makes us to enhance the charging algorithm, to interface with BMS(Battery Management System) of electric vehicle, to control the charging process with users. Because the technology of rapid charging is dependant upon various factors such as a performance and stability of battery. We proposed the monitoring system of rapid charger based on CAN protocol that can watch a working status of rapid charger including the charging status of battery with real time and can reduce the charging time of battery with optimized status. We also implement it and evaluate its performance.

  • A new high power density and low cost Photovoltaic Power Conditioning System (PV PCS) with energy storage system is proposed. Its high power density and cost effectiveness can be achieved through the unification of the maximum power point tracker and battery charger/discharger. Despite of the reduced power stage, the proposed system can achieve the same performances of maximum power point tracking and battery charging/discharging as the conventional system. Moreover, the high voltage stress across the link-capacitor can be relieved through the series-connected link-capacitor with the battery. Therefore, a large number of series/parallel-connected link-capacitors can be reduced by 4-times. Especially, when the utility power failure happens, both photovoltaic and battery energies can be supplied to the load with only one power stage. Therefore, it features a simpler structure, less mass, lower cost, and fewer devices. Finally, to confirm the operation, validity, and features of the proposed system, theoretical analysis and experimental results from a single phase AC 220Vrms/1.5kW prototype are presented.

  • K-BEMS System was introduced to reduce peak load and to save total energy of the 200 buildings that KEPCO headquarter and branch offices use. And K-BEMS system is composed of PV, battery, and hybrid PCS. KEPCO research institute has carried out this K-BEMS research project for 3 years since January 2016. In this paper, the results of the project are shown. 9 modes of test results of K-BEMS system and are operational problems were analyzed. And measures to cure the trouble are also suggested. Batteries are operated more than 20% of SOC, and less than 20% of SOC battery protection switches are automatically shutting down the system and the system no longer respond to EMS, ending the supply of PV, and so therefore to continue the PV power supply it was turn out to be necessary that the EMS should automatically change its policy to change PV only supply mode automatically when the Battery Switch automatically operated. To operate the system continuously and automatically, it is necessary to modify the minimum operational SOC value, and in addition to that the EMS computer must remember the last shut-down SOC and Voltage which interrupted the system and add some margin to reflect the measurement error in the system.

  • The small electric vehicles equipped with V2X(vehicle to everything) systems may provide more information and function to the existing navigation system of the vehicle. The key components of V2X technology include V2V (vehicle to vehicle), V2N(vehicle to network) and V2I (vehicle to infrastructure). This study is to design and implementation of VI type E-PTO which is interfaced with external equipments, the work designs the components of E-PTO such as DC/DC converter, DC/AC converter, battery bidirectional charging system etc. Also, it implements the devices and control systems for driving. The test results of VI type E-PTO components showed allowable 10% requirements of transient voltage variation rate and recovery time within 100ms for start/stop and normal operation.

  • Lack of proper amount of sun lights and wind strength which are major factors of solar power and wind power system may cause poor electric power generation and decrease the lifetime of batteries that are major energy saving units. Because the PCS, which is essential in solar and wind power system, for small power generation system has been rarely developed an efficient and stable PCS for small power generation system is highly required. In this paper, we design a new constant current/constant voltage type hybrid PCS by which stand alone/grid connected operation with commercial power system is available and implement the designed PCS as a protype for performance verification.

  • 주파수조정용 배터리 에너지저장장치의 주파수조정용으로써의 효용성을 확인하기 위해 한국전력공사 전력연구원 ESS연구사업단에서는 제주시 조천변전소에 4MW급 ESS실증단지의 조성과 제어시스템의 실증을 완료하였다. 이후 주파수조정용 대용량 에너지저장장치 운전제어기술을 개발하여 서안성, 신용인 변전소에 설치된 52MW ESS에 각각 주파수추종운전용 28MW와 자동발전제어용 24MW 제어시스템기술을 적용시켰다. 대용량 에너지저장장치 운전제어기술을 개발하기 위하여 제어시스템과 연계할 수 있는 시뮬레이션이 가능한 에너지저장장치 및 전력계통을 개발하여 시험하였다. 본 논문에서는 제어시스템과 연계 가능하고, 운전원 인터페이스를 제공하며, 시뮬레이션이 가능한 전력계통과 에너지저장장치로 구성된 제어기 검증용 시뮬레이터 개발에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 고전력 밀도 및 저가형으로 구현이 가능한 새로운 구조의 계통 연계형 태양광 인버터 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 태양전지의 최대 전력점 추종기능과 배터리의 충 방전 기능을 통합하여 기존 3단 구성을 2단으로 줄임으로써 시스템 제작단가가 낮아지고 고전력 밀도 구성이 가능하다. 제안 시스템의 우수성과 신뢰성 검증을 위하여 1.5kW급 PV PCS 시작품을 제작하고 이를 이용한 실험결과를 바탕으로 제안 시스템의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • 본 논문은 DC Common 방식의 새로운 Hybrid 시스템에 대해 제안하고 있다. 제안하는 시스템은 주간에 PV를 통해 배터리를 충전하고 야간에는 BESS(Battery Energy Storage System)로 발전하여 추가 배전용량의 증설 없이 신재생에너지의 발전량을 증가시킬 수 있는 시스템이다. 본 시스템은 계통 연계형 및 PV용 전력변환장치로 구성되며 SiC(Silicon Carbide) 소자를 사용하여 손실을 최소화 하였다. 따라서 각 구성품들의 사양과 Destinpower사가 개발한 알고리즘이 적용된 Hybrid 시스템을 소개한다.

  • Grid-connected bidirectional PCS(Power Conditioning System) technology is a technology for implementing distributed renewable energy smart grid. And it is always charged by using power collected from solar modules and commercial grid power among vast smart grid systems, and stored when needed.It is a hybrid energy storage device that allows power to be released into the low voltage system. To this end, a PV input power converter with MPPT function, a bidirectional power converter for battery charging and discharging, and a DC Link input are output to a 3 phase 380V AC system, and if nessary, the bidirectional DC/DC converter We designed and developed a PCS with three power converter structures composed of inverters that perform battery charging. Currently, this system is applied to the site of Jeju, which is vulnerable to power outages and fire accidents.

  • 배터리 에너지 저장시스템(Battery Energy Storage System, BESS)용 Power Conditioning System(PCS)은 양방향 순시 정격 출력이 가능하여 계통연계 및 독립운전을 수행할 수 있으며, 신재생에너지 연계시 그 효용을 증대시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 산업용 수용가를 위한 ESS용 PCS 제어기 개발 및 실증 내용을 소개한다. 독립적 운전이 가능한 4개의 250kW PCS로 이루어진 1MW PCS는 Battery Management System(BMS)의 상태를 수신하여 운전가능여부를 판단하며, Energy Management System(EMS)의 지령으로 전력차액거래, 피크전력저감, 수요반응, 무효전력제어 등의 기능을 수행할 수 있다. 또한 원격지의 계통전압, 출력전류 등을 실시간으로 수신할 수 있는 모듈을 사용하여 비상전원 기능 및 신재생에너지 출력 단기 보상 기능을 수행할 수 있다.
