  • Most universities have been concerned about Liberal Education; whether is it on universal truth, or on training job-specialists? In consequence, the curricula have been reformed and promoted diversely. In this aspect, has been developed as convergence education. I selected two easy and short texts and tried to make the students practice and memorize the dialogues as many as possible. At the end of the class, the students presented given assignments, with theatrical performance. This study carried out the research of students' presentation and theatrical performances on the basis of group study, together with a survey of the results of questionnaires and lecture evaluation. Therefore it was a exploratory study to check out significance of variables through the correlation analysis. The students' questionnaires showed the improvement of their English ability, together with their knowledge about literature and drama, cultivating humanities through the theatrical performance. It may be said that has achieved multi-functional effects of English class converged literature, theatre and humanities even for one semester.

  • This paper analyzes the performances of actor Song Kang-Ho in the background of interdisciplinary and integrated film acting, using performance rather than acting as a general term. If the act is a concept limited to acting training or acting skills, performance is a broad concept that includes expressions, movements, and emotions. The performance on the screen can be explained in the context of film and can be extended to the social attitude of acting. In addition, I used the term screen in terms of representation rather than film referring to medium. Song Kang-Ho expressed the performances of various characters in more than 30 films. Although his facial expressions, gestures, and voices suitable for individual characters in various genres are represented in various ways, personality inherent in the actor Song Kang-Ho integrates persona with character. What drives it is the social attitude of screen performance. As a sign, acting is an ideological construct and foregrounds a character who describes a certain social and historical moment. Song Gang-Ho as actor, persona and character, who asserts the popularity, speaks to society and makes discourse. His comic performance is always confronting the tragedy of life, his face is the spirit of the times, and it expands into social meaning. The face of the close-up does not laugh at all, the gesture symbolized by the curved rear view is exaggerated disorderedly and disturbingly, and the voice using dialect accent does not follow the standard of the vocal.

  • The purpose of the study is to develop a scoring rubric for students’ mind maps. The participants of this research were students in two fourth-grade classes selected from an elementary school in Pyungtaek-shi. After receiving basic training, students developed mind maps four times while teaming two science units. In order to score the mind maps, a scoring rubric was developed. To estimate the reliability of the rubric, selected mind maps were marked by three teachers and correlational coefficients were calculated with SPSS. As a result of the study, a scoring rubric consisted of three domains, central circle, branches, and expression were developed. The reliability of the rubric is proven to be high to very high.

  • In the past, Korean English language learners focused on knowledge of grammatical structures. Thus Korean trained instructors, who focused on explaining the grammar structures, were seen as being preferable for teaching in EFL (English as a foreign language) classrooms. However, with the focus changed to speaking capability Koreans now desire 'fluent' English more than 'accuracy' seeing if possible (Mottos, 1997). Current study has been concerned about the issue of how non-native learners of English perceive the difference between native teachers (NTs) and non-native teachers (non-NTs) of English in the context of ELT classroom. The study explores the issues and problems the followed and how non-NTs can enhance teaching practice of speaking and listening lessons through multimedia application.

  • This study derived determinants of 'Decent Work' in the logistics industry and aims to use the analysis results as basic data for policymaking related to labor in the logistics industry and to prepare policies suitable for the characteristics of the logistics industry. As the dependent variable of the model, the Decent Job derived from the first study was used, and the target model was derived from panel data of whole industries to understand the unique characteristics of logistics industry jobs and applied to the logistics industry model. This study found that in the logistics industry, developing the expertise of the logistics industry through "vocational training" compared to whole industries is an important factor rather than raising the "academic level" through the regular curriculum. This seems to reflect the characteristics of the logistics industry as specialized vocational training is required in the case of "railway transportation", "inland water and port transportation", and "air cargo transportation", which have a high proportion of decent job workers among the detailed logistics industries analyzed in this study. Therefore, developing job expertise through additional manpower training programs such as vocational training as well as academic fields learned through regular curriculum is a very important factor in engaging in "Decent Work" not only in the logistics industry but also in other industries.

  • Global platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube have developed a precise recommendation system based on various information from large set of customers and many of the items recommended here are leading to actual purchases. In this paper, a cluster analysis was conducted according to the attribute of the content, expecting that there would be a difference in user preferences according to the attribute of the recommended content. Gower distance was used for use regardless of the type of variables. In this paper, using the data of movie rating site 'The Movie Dataset', the users were grouped hierarchically and recommended movies based on genre, director and actor variables. To evaluate the recommended systems proposed, user group was divided into train set and test set to examine the precision. The results showed that proposed algorithms have far higher precision than UBCF.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse literacy of children from multicultural backgrounds, and identify cognitive-linguistic predictors that can affect their literacy. First, the higher-grade students showed better cognitive-linguistic variables in reading and writing performance. Second, it has been noted that the predictor variable of reading in children from multicultural backgrounds was homeostasis in visual form, which is a sub-variable of visual perception. This implies that detained characteristics play an important role in reading prerequisite. Therefore it can be said that it is more important to recognise features and clues about the details than reading familiar words. Furthermore, learning consonants and vowels should come first rather than studying letters at the first stages of learning Korean.

  • Education is one of the priority sectors specified in Tanzania, and it has committed to provide 11 years of compulsory free basic education for all from pre-primary to lower secondary level. Despite the Government's efforts to provide free basic education to all children, there are 2.0 million (23.2 per cent) out of 8.5 million children at the primary school age of 7-13, who are out of school in Tanzania. The ICT class should be offered as a regular class in all secondary schools in Tanzania, recommended by the ministry of education. However, many schools are struggling to implement this mandate. Most of schools offer the ICT class with theory without any real hardware. Some schools were given with computers but they were not maintained for operation. There is a huge task to make ICT education universal. Main issues include: remoteness (off-grid area), lack of ICT teachers, lack of resources such as hardware, infrastructure, and lack of practical lessons or projects to be used at schools. An innovative blended ICT/STEM education program is being conducted not only for Tanzanian public and private/international schools, but also for out-of-school adolescents through institutions, NGO centers, home visits and at the E3 Empower academy center. For effective STEM education to take place and remain sustainable, more practical curriculum, and close-up teacher support need to be accompanied concurrently. Practical, project-based simple coding lessons have been developed and employed that students experience true learning. The effectiveness of the curriculum has been demonstrated in various project centers, and it showed that students are showing new interests in exploring new discovery, even though this was a totally new area for them. It has been designed for an easy replication, thus students who learned can repeat the lessons themselves to other students. The ultimate purpose of this project is to have IT education offered as universally as possible throughout the whole Tanzania. Quality education for all children is a key for better future for all. Previously it was hoped that education with discipline will improve the active learning. But now more than ever, we believe that children have the ability to learn on their own with given proper STEM education tools, guidelines and environment. This gives promising hope to all of us, including those in the developing countries.
