Algorithm of Generating Adaptive Background Modeling for crackdown on Illegal Parking (불법 주정차 무인 자동 단속을 위한 환경 변화에 강건한 적응적 배경영상 모델링 알고리즘)

  • The Object tracking by real-time image analysis is one of the major concerns in computer vision and its application fields. The Object detection process of real-time images must be preceded before the object tracking process. To achieve the stable object detection performance in the exterior environment, adaptive background model generation methods are needed. The adaptive background model can accept the nature's phenomena changes and adapt the system to the changes such as light or shadow movements that are caused by changes of meridian altitudes of the sun. In this paper, we propose a robust background model generation method effective in an illegal parking auto-detection application area. We also provide a evaluation method that judges whether a moving vehicle stops or not. As the first step, an initial background model is generated. Then the differences between the initial model and the input image frame is used to trace the movement of object. The moving vehicle can be easily recognized from the object tracking process. After that, the model is updated by the background information except the moving object. These steps are repeated. The experiment results show that our background model is effective and adaptable in the variable exterior environment. The results also show our model can detect objects moving slowly. This paper includes the performance evaluation results of the proposed method on the real roads.

  • In this paper, we propose a smoke detection method which is based on block-wise difference of image frames in video. Our proposed method is composed of three steps which are (a) the detection step of the changed regions against the background, (b) the background update step, and (c) the smoke determination step from the changed regions. We first construct the block mean Image of frames in video. And to extract the changed regions against the background, we use a block-wise difference between background's block mean image and a current input frame's block mean image. After applying projections in block-based difference images, we can determine the changed regions as rectangles using projections of difference images. we propose a update scheme of background's block mean image using the projections. We decide the smoke region using the femoral statistics of the central position and YUV color in the changed region.

Overlap Removal and Background Updating for Associative Tracking of Multiple Vehicles (다중 차량 연관 추적을 위한 겹침 제거 및 배경영상 갱신)

  • In this paper, we propose a vehicle tracking method that can be applied in the intelligent traffic information system. The proposed method mainly consists of two steps: overlap removal and background updating. In order to remove overlap, we detect the overlap based on the location of the vehicle from successive images. Background updating is to calculate a background using statistical analysis of successive images. We collected a set of test images from the traffic monitoring system and experimented. The experimental results show more than 96% of tracking accuracy.

  • It is difficult to track and extract the movement of an object through a camera exactly because of noises and changes of the light. The fast searching algorithm is necessary to extract the object and to track the movement for realtime image. In this paper, we propose the correct and fast algorithm using the variable searching area and the background image change method to robustic for the change of background image. In case the threshold value is smaller than reference value on an experimental basis, change the background image. When it is bigger, we decide it is the point of the time of the object input and then extract boundary point of it through the pixel check. The extracted boundary points detect precise movement of the object by creating area block of it and searching block that maintaining distance. The designed and embodied system shows more than 95% accuracy in the experimental results.

Hole-filling Algorithm Based on Extrapolating Spatial-Temporal Background Information for View Synthesis in Free Viewpoint Television (자유 시점 TV에서 시점 합성을 위한 시공간적 배경 정보 추정 기반 홀 채움 방식)

  • This paper presents a hole-filling algorithm based on extrapolating spatial-temporal background information used in view synthesis for free-viewpoint television. A new background codebook is constructed and updated in order to extract reliable temporal background information. In addition, an estimation of spatial local background values is conducted to discriminate an adaptive boundary between the background region and the foreground region as well as to update the information about the hole region. The holes then are filled by combining the spatial background information and the temporal background information. In addition, an exemplar-based inpainting technique is used to fill the rest of holes, in which a priority function using background-depth information is defined to determine the order in which the holes are filled. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed algorithm outperformed the other comparative methods about average 0.3-0.6 dB, and that it synthesized satisfactory views regardless of video characteristics and type of hole region.

  • 본 논문에서는 센서 융합과 배경 추정 기법을 이용하여 연속된 영상에서 물체 영역을 검출하는 기법을 제안하였다. IR/CCD각각의 카메라로부터 얻은 입력 영상을 정렬하고 융합하는 과정을 거친 후, 각 화소 단위의 배경 모델을 추정하고 시간이 지남에 따라 이를 갱신함으로써 물체 영역을 효과적으로 검출하는 기법을 제시하고 있다. 실험은 차량을 대상으로 하였고, 카메라가 움직이는 상황과 비교적 복잡한 환경에서도 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구는 분산자원 활용을 위한 Z39.50 프로토콜, ZING SRW/SRU 프로토콜, OAI 프로토콜, ZING Update 프로토콜의 개발 배경, 특징을 살펴보고, 검색과 갱신 각 기능별로 프로토콜을 비교·분석하였다. 본 연구는 분산자원을 활용하려는 도서관 및 정보서비스기관에 기초 정보를 제공하고, 각 기관에서 분산자원을 이용하여 구축하고자 하는 서비스의 대상, 종류, 환경에 적합한 프로토콜을 선택할 수 있도록 하기 위함이다.

Implementation of a Robust Visual Surveillance Algorithm under outdoor environment (옥외 환경에강인한 영상 감시알고리듬구현)

  • This paper describes a robust visual surveillance algorithm under outdoor environment. One of the difficult problems for outdoor is to obtain effective updating process of background images. Because background images generally contain the shadows of buildings, trees, moving clouds and other objects, they are changed by lapse of time and variation of illumination. They provide the lowering of performance for surveillance system under outdoor. In this paper, a robust algorithm for visual surveillance system under outdoor is proposed, which apply the mixture Gaussian filter and color invariant property on pixel level to update background images. In results, it was showed that the moving objects can be detected on various shadows under outdoor.

  • 실시간 영상에서 객체 추적은 수년간 컴퓨터 비전 및 여러 실용적 응용 분야에서 관심을 가지는 주제 중 하나이다. 하지만 배경영상의 잡음을 객체로 인식하는 오류로 인하여 추출하고자 하는 객체를 찾지 못하는 경우가 있다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 영상에서 적응적 배경영상을 이용하여 객체를 추출하고 추적하는 방법을 제안한다. 입력되는 영상에서 배경영역의 잡음을 제거하고 조명에 강인한 객체 추출을 위하여 객체영역이 아닌 배경영역 부분을 실시간으로 갱신함으로써 적응적 배경영상을 생성한다. 그리고 배경영상과 카메라로부터 입력되는 입력영상과의 차를 이용하여 객체를 추출한다. 추출된 객체의 내부점을 이용하여 최소사각영역을 설정하고, 이를 통해 객체를 추적한다. 아울러 제안방법의 성능에 대한 실험결과를 기존 추적알고리즘과 비곤 분석하여 평가한다.
