  • 오늘날 대기환경에 존재하는 여러 오염물질 중에서 오존의 생성과 밀접한 관련이 있는 질소산화물과 휘발성유기화합물 (volatile organic compound, VOC)의 대기 환경학적 역할의 중요성이 점차 부각되고 있다 (Liu et al., 2000. VOC는 비록 대기 중에 극미량 농도로 존재하지만, 이들 성분이 대기환경의 변화에 미치는 잠재적 영향력은 가늠하기 어려울 정도로 막대하다. 지금까지 도심환경에 대한 VOC 성분의 분포특성을 설명하기 위해, 주요 인위적 기원의 VOC 성분들의 주구성인자로 간주할 수 있는 benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylene (일반적으로 이들을 총칭하여 BTEX라 한다)을 위시한 방향족 화합물의 핵심성분들에 대한 환경거동 및 단주기적 분포특성에 대한 관측이 많은 연구자들에 의해 수행되었다(eg., Keymeulen et al., 2001).   • 대기오염물질 속에 함유되어 있는 다환방향족 탄화수소 (PAHs)는 분자식 구조가 비슷한 수십개의 이성질체가 여러 종류의 유기화합물과 혼합되어 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 환경오염 시료중의 PAHs를 분석하는데 있어서 분석방법과 결과를 비교하기 위하여 지침이 될 수 있는 환경표준 기준물을 개발할 목적으로 굴뚝 안쪽벽에서 긁어 채취한 검댕을 시료로 선책하여 액체/액체 용매 추출방법에 의해 PAHs 분류부분을 얻었다. Phenanthrene 이외의 30여종의 PAHs 화합물을 가스크로마토그라피의 머무른시간과 가스크로마토그라피/질량분석기에 의하여 분리, 판명하였고 5종의 주 PAHs 화합물을 정확하게 정량 분석하였다. 정량분석 결과의 신뢰도, 정확도, 정밀도는 미국 NBS의 표준기준물 1647을 분석하여 검정치와 비교함으로써 평가하였다.

  • The cleavage of fullerene oxides with several aromatic amines such as 4-nitroaniline, 3-nitroaniline, 4-isopropylaniline in the present of $FeCl_3$ occurred under ultrasonic irradiation in air at $25{\sim}43^{\circ}C$. The aminated fullerenes were confirmed by MALDI-TOF-MS and UV-vis spectra.

  • 최근 연료 가격의 상승으로 자동차용 연료에 벤젠, 톨루엔 등을 혼합한 가짜휘발유가 많이 유통되고 있다. 가짜휘발유는 벤젠, 톨루엔 등의 방향족물질을 혼합하거나 경유, 등유 등을 혼합하여 사용한다. 방향족 화합물이 많이 함유된 휘발유를 장기간 사용할 경우 차량의 고무부품을 팽윤시켜 연료의 누출 등에 따른 화재 발생의 가능성이 높으며, 톨루엔은 열함량이 작기 때문에 연소효율 저하로 연비를 악화시킨다. 또한 자동차 연료의 조성은 배출가스에도 많은 영향을 주는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 가짜휘발유 사용에 따른 배출가스 영향을 정확히 파악하기 위해 휘발유 중 방향족 함량이 다른 세종류의 연료를 사용하여 배출가스 및 연비에 대한 영향을 조사하였다. Enhancement of Phenanthrene Sorption Rate on Natural Manganese Oxide Using the Oxidative Coupling Reaction of Phenanthrene (천연망간산화물에 의한 클로로페놀의 산화결합생성물을 매개로 한 다환방향족화합물(PAH) 오염물의 고정화 효과)

  • The sorption/desorption characteristics of phenanthrene on the natural manganese oxide (NMD) were investigated in the presence of phenolic compounds. 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) was effectively oxidized by NMD catalyzed reaction and transformed into humic-like macromolecular compound through inter-or cross-coupling reaction between byproducts. As 4-CP was degraded with time, sorbed amount of phenanthrene on NMD was significantly increased, resulting from the formation of oxidative coupling products. These results imply that NMD can be used for simultaneous treatment of phenolic contaminants and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soils, sediments, or water. Also, sorbed phenanthrene on NMD in the presence of 4-CP showed high degree of desorption resistance, indicating that sequestration process of phenanthrene was ongoing with time.

Concentration Levels and Distribution Characteristics of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) at Ambient Air in Industrial Complex Area (공단지역 대기 중 다환방향족탄화수소화합물(PAHs)의 농도수준 및 분포특성)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the concentration levels, distribution characteristics and blood concentration of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) at ambient air in Industrial Complex Area. The samples were collected at 4 sites in Industrial Complex Area and its vicinities. The result indicated that there was the difference of PAHs concentration as followed local characteristics. The level of average concentration of PAHs in the air in Industrial Complex Area was $14.52{\sim}193.48ng/m^3$. The level of average concentration of six materials with possibility of cancer creation was $1.65{\sim}13.44ng/m^3$. The concentrations of PAHs were generally low, but Jechul-dong is considered an area where consistent monitoring of PAHs is required. In addition, benzo(a)pyrene was detected in every atmospheric sample, however the concentration was not high. The level of concentration of benzo(a)pyrene in the air in the Jechul-dong was $2.89ng/m^3$. But, the concentration of the PAHs in Jechul-dong showed that the Benzo(a)pyrene concentration is above $1ng/m^3$ of air quality standard(EU). The results of the concentration level of PAHs in the blood from 240 persons who were exposed directly were surveyed, it was $1.12{\sim}11.45ng/m^3$ for man and $1.20{\sim}26.89ng/m^3$ for woman. It was indicated that the difference between the genders was very little. The accumulation inside human was anticipated as the PAHs concentration in the blood for the aged was very high. Industrial Complex Area and its vicinities are an area which has been greatly influenced by PAHs and environmental contaminants. It is necessary to control the emission sources of PAHs and to construct an observation system at Industrial Complex Area from now on. It is time to reduce the risk factors for health and environmental disease to protect the health of resident in Industrial Complex Area and its vicinities.

The analysis and leaching characteristics of organic compounds in incineration residues from municipal solid waste incinerators (생활폐기물 소각시설 소각재에서의 유기오염물질 정성분석 및 용출특성)

  • This study was carried out to estimate leaching characteristics of incineration residues from municipal solid waste incinerators, and determine organic compounds in raw ash, leaching water and leaching residue. A total of 44 organic compounds, which were analyzed by GC/MSD and identified by wiley library search, were contained in bottom ashes. A total of 17 organic compounds were contained in fly ashes. Bottom ash and fly ash were found to contain a wide range of organic compounds such as aliphatic compounds and aromatic compounds. Organic compounds such as Ethenylbenzene, Benzaldehyde, 1-Phenyl-Ethanone and 1,4-Benzenedicarboxylic acid dimethyl ester were detected in raw ash, leaching water and residues (from bottom ash). Organic compounds such as Naphthalene, Dodecane, 1,2,3,5-Tetrachlorobenzene, Tetradecane, Hexadecane and Pentachlorobenzene were detected in raw ash, leaching water and residues (from fly ash). Through the leaching characteristics of incineration residue, it was represented that the open dumping of incineration residue can contaminate the soil and undergroundwater. In order to prevent environmental contamination that derived from extremely toxic substances in the incineration residues, it is particularly important that the incineration residues should be treated before disposal the incineration residues. Further study and proper management about leaching characteristics of organic compounds might be required.
