저궤도 위성 열진공 시험의 전자 시험 설계

  • 위성의 열진공 환경 시험은 고진공 극저온의 우주 환경을 모사하여 열제어 기능 및 임무 수행 능력을 검증하는 시험이다. 이 시험에서는 위성 주위에 부착한 방열판으로 위성 외각 온도를 변화 시켜 위성의 태양 지향 자세 또는 심우주 지향 자세를 모사하며, 이에 따른 위성의 온도 변화에 따라 지상 시험 장비로 위성의 히터 설정, 유닛 전원 형상의 변경 등을 해야한다. 또한 극고온 또는 극저온의 환경에 장시간 연속적으로 노출된 상태에서 위성의 기본적인 기능부터 영상 미션까지 검토하는 CPT 시험을 수행하며, 이 CPT 시험은 극한의 위성 상태의 시험이기 때문에 온도를 고려한 전자 시험 설계 및 24시간 위성 모니터링 시스템, 위험상황 발생 시 대처 방안 등에 대한 준비가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 열진공 시험 시의 전자시험의 형상과 설계에 대해서 설명하고, 시험 결과에 대해서 정리하였다.

Development and prospect of Smart EMW Absorber for Protection of Electronic Circuits and Devices with Heat Radiating Function (전자회로 및 부품 보호용 방열기능형 스마트 전파 흡수체의 개발과 전망)

  • With the rapid progress of electronics and radio communication technology, human enjoys greater freedom in information communication. However, EMW (Electro-Magnetic Wave) environments have become more complicate and difficult to control. Thus, international organizations, such as the American National Standard Institution (ANSI), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Comite Internationale Special des Perturbations Radio Electrique (CISPR), etc, have provided standard for controlling the EM wave environments and for the countermeasure of the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). In this paper, the status of EMW absorbers and the goal of smart EMW absorber in the future were described. Furthermore, design method of the smart EM wave absorber with heat radiating function was suggested. The designed smart EM wave absorber has the absorption ability of more than 20 dB from 2 GHz to 2.45 GHz band, the optimum aperture (hole) size, the adjacent hole space, and the thickness of which were 6 mm, 9 mm, and 6.5 mm, respectively. Thus, it is respected that these results can be applied as various EMC devices in electronic, communication, and controlling systems.

Analytical Investigation of In-direct Heater to Simulate Space Thermal Environment for Thermal Vacuum Test (열진공 시험용 비접촉식 우주 열환경 모사 장치의 해석적 검토)

  • To simulate space thermal environment in thermal vacuum test, direct or in-direct heater has been applied on the radiator. Both of them, direct heater attached on the radiator and indirect heater with a distance from the radiator, simulate the heat fluxes from the Sun radiation, the Earth IR and Albedo. They also supply the heat fluxes to the radiator of spacecraft to achieve the target temperature according to thermal test conditions. In general, indirect heater is used when the heater is not allowed to attach on the radiator directly due to constraints of coating property or contamination. For in-direct heater design, it is needed to estimate the heat power to make the extreme test conditions and minimize the interference with heat exchange of radiator and shroud. In this study, optimized thermal design of in-direct heater is proposed and investigated by commercial S/W SINDA. The effective values of design factors are also derived.

Design and Thermal Analysis of Focal Plane Assembly Cooling Unit of Earth Observation Camera (저궤도 지구관측위성 주탑재체 냉각유닛 설계와 열해석)

  • Thermal analysis and design of FPA(Focal Plane Assembly)-CU(Cooling Unit) for Earth observation camera is performed. FPA-CU is the first cooling device for a spacecraft which is designed and manufactured by its own technology in Korea. FPA-CU has a special feature, TBM(Thermal Buffer Mass) which is discriminated from typical cooling devices using heat pipes and radiator. TBM can be regarded as a thermal energy reservoir and it shows thermally transient characteristics, which make it difficult to design the size and shape of TBM. In current study, a method to determine the volume and the size of TBM is proposed and validated. The transient thermal analysis for FPA-CU for 5 operational scenarios is performed and validates the final design of FPA-CU (Radiator,TBM, Heat pipe I/F). In case of an abnormal operation of a heat pipe among three radiator heat pipes, the temperature of FPA can be increased $3{\sim}4^{\circ}C$ according to the numerical simulation.

  • Modules of the system that requires large capacity and high-speed information processing are implemented in the form of MCM that allows high-speed data processing, high density circuit integration and widely applied to such fields as ATM, GPS and PCS. Hence we developed the ATM switching module that is consisted of three chips and 2.48 Gbps data throughput, in the form of 10 multi-layer by Cu/Photo-BCB and 491pin PBGA which size is $48 \times 48 \textrm {mm}^2$. hnologies required for the development of the MCM includes extracting parameters for designing the substrate/package through the interconnect characterization to implement the high-speed characteristics, thermal management at the high-density MCM, and the generation of the testability that is one of the most difficult issues for developing the MCM. For the development of the ATM Switching MCM, we extracted signaling delay, via characteristics and crosstalk parameters through the interconnect characterization on the MCM-D. For the thermal management of 15.6 Watt under the high-density structure, we carried out the thermal analysis. formed 1.108 thermal vias through the substrate, and performed heat-proofing processing for the entire package so that it can keep the temperature less than $85^{\circ}C$. Lastly, in order to ensure the testability, we verified the substrate through fine pitch probing and applied the Boundary Scan Test (BST) for verifying the complex packaging/assembling processes, through which we developed an efficient and cost-effective product.

  • The theoretical analysis and experiment with simulator were performed to obtain the temperature distributions in radiant heating panel and heat supply from hot water to heating space for the purpose of the development of comfortable living space from a point of view of the improvement of air quality and the enhancement of system efficiency. The relations of various parameters, such as pipe pitch, room temperature as well as flow rate and temperature of hot water and so on, with the rate of heat supplied, mean temperature and maximum temperature difference at panel surface were discussed. The effects of these parameters were also verified on the thermal performance of heating panel using the relations which could be used for the optimal design and operation of the radiant heating panel.

  • 현재 EV의 수명보증 시간이 해외의 경우 15년, 15만마일로 되어 있어 수명 보증에 대한 부분이 큰 이슈가 되고 있다. 오랜시간 인버터의 품질을 보증하기 위해서는 부품들의 수명에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 한다. 특히 수명에 관련된 부분 중 캐패시터의 영향이 가장 크게 좌우가 된다. 이러한 이유로 고전압 입력은 수명이 긴 필름 캐패시터를 사용하고 있지만, 제어회로 및 드라이버 회로에서 전해 캐패시터를 사용하고 있기 때문에 온도에 대해 부품의 수명이 크게 좌우가 된다. 이러한 부분을 해결하기 위해서는 인버터의 방열에 대한 부분과 회로 설계시 부품온도 상승을 억제하는 설계를 진행하여야 한다. 또한 자동차용 인버터의 구동조건의 정의가 중요하며, 연속 운전시 수명을 자동차에 보증되는 기간으로의 변환이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 부품온도 시험을 위한 시험 기준을 확립하고, 인버터의 부품온도 측정 소자 선정법, 캐패시터의 수명계산을 통해 인버터의 품질 보증을 위한 방안을 제시한다.

  • 24" LCD Monitor용 LED BLU를 개발하기 위하여 1.5W R,G,G,B가 하나의 PKG에 들어있는 LED를 이용하여 Direct type의 Back Light Unit을 개발하였다. 방열 및 휘도 균일도를 고려하여 LED part를 설계, 개발 하였고 LED를 pulse로 구동하기 위하여 Switching circuit이 포함되는 구동회로 부분을 설계, 개발하였다. 또한 Color Sensor와 ICM (Integrated Color Management) IC를 사용하여 Color를 Control하는 제어회로 부분도 개발을 하였다. 제어회로 부분을 개발하기 위하여 MicroController를 사용하였으며 ICM IC와의 통신을 위한 부분도 개발하였다. 이러한 구성을 개발하여 시제품을 직접 제작하였다. 평가를 위하여 성능시험을 실시하였고 광학적인 평가도 시행하였다. 제작된 시제품은 $L558{\times}W359{\times}H30$으로 하였다. 휘도는 목표휘도를 이루었으며 균일도는 85% 이상이 되었다.

  • In this study, the shape of plate-fin type heat sink is numerically optimized to acquire the minimum pressure drop under the required temperature rise. To do this, a new sequential approximate optimization (SAO) is proposed and it is integrated with the computational fluid dynamics (CFD). In thermal/fluid systems for constrained nonlinear optimization problems, three fundamental difficulties such as high cost for function evaluations (i.e., pressure drop and thermal resistance), the absence of design sensitivity information, and the occurrence of numerical noise are confronted. To overcome these problems, the progressive quadratic response surface method (PQRSM), which is one of the sequential approximate optimization algorithms, is proposed and the heat sink is optimize by means of the PQRSM.

  • 연료전지차 및 하이브리드차용 전기구동시스템의 냉각성능은 차량의 동력성능을 보장하기 위한 중요한 요소이다. 각 단품의 성능 확보를 위해 냉각수를 허용 온도 이하로 관리해야 하며 이때 라디에이터 방열량과 냉각수 유량이 중요 변수가 된다. 본 논문에서는 현대자동차 연료전지차량의 모터, 인버터를 포함한 100kW 전기구동시스템의 최적 냉각 설계를 위하여 차량주행모드에 따른 전기동력부품의 발열량을 이론적으로 산출하고, 시험을 통하여 냉각시스템의 성능을 검증하였다.
