  • This study suggests methods of defense against low-level high-bandwidth DDoS attacks by adding a solution with a time limit factor (TLF) to an existing high-bandwidth DDoS defense system. Low-level DDoS attacks cause faults to the service requests of normal users by acting as a normal service connection and continuously positioning the connected session. Considering this, the proposed method makes it possible for users to show a down-related session by considering it as a low-level DDoS attack if the abnormal flow is detected after checking the amount of traffic. However, the service might be blocked when misjudging a low-level DDoS attack in the case of a communication fault resulting from a network fault, even with a normal connection status. Thus, we made it possible to reaccess the related information through a certain period of blocking instead of a drop through blacklist. In a test of the system, it was unable to block the session because it recognized sessions that are simply connected with a low-level DDoS attack as a normal communication.

  • We analyzed APT attack cases that occurred overseas in the past using a cyber kill chain model and a TTP model. As a result of the analysis, we found that the cyber kill chain model is effective in figuring out the overall outline, but is not suitable for establishing a specific defense strategy, however, TTP model is suitable to have a practical defense system. Based on these analysis results, it is suggested that defense technology development which is based on TTP model to build defense-in-depth system for preparing cyber attacks.

  • Recently, with the development of information and communication infrastructure, the number of Internet access devices is rapidly increasing. Smartphones, laptops, computers, and even IoT devices are receiving information and communication services through Internet access. Since most of the device operating environment consists of web (WEB), it is vulnerable to web cyber attacks using web shells. When the web shell is uploaded to the web server, it is confirmed that the attack frequency is high because the control of the web server can be easily performed. As the damage caused by the web shell occurs a lot, each company is responding to attacks with various security devices such as intrusion prevention systems, firewalls, and web firewalls. In this case, it is difficult to detect, and in order to prevent and cope with web shell attacks due to these characteristics, it is difficult to respond only with the existing system and security software. Therefore, it is an automated defense system through the collection and analysis of web shells based on artificial intelligence machine learning that can cope with new cyber attacks such as detecting unknown web shells in advance by using artificial intelligence machine learning and deep learning techniques in existing security software. We would like to propose about. The machine learning-based web shell defense system model proposed in this paper quickly collects, analyzes, and detects malicious web shells, one of the cyberattacks on the web environment. I think it will be very helpful in designing and building a security system.

  • The Kinzal missile launched by Russia in Ukraine and flew on March 5 or more speeds is the first hypersonic cruise missile used in combat. High speed leads to destructive solid power, and the security system's interception time is significantly reduced. Therefore, hypersonic missiles could be a game-changer. Even the United States, with its multi-layered defense system, admits the difficulty of intercepting it. Military powers like the United States, Russia, China and North Korea are focus on developing hypersonic missiles as offensive weapons, but their defense system capabilities are inadeqate. From this perspective, this paper identifies significant countrie's hypersonic missile development status and defense system capabilities and seeks to derive a countermeasure for the ROK military.

  • Attack on Cloud Computing, an intensive service solution using network infrastructure recently released, generates service breakdown or intrusive incidents incapacitating developmental platforms, web-based software, or resource services. Therefore, it is needed to conduct research on security for the operational information of three kinds of services (3S': laaS, PaaS, SaaS) supported by the Cloud Computing system and also generated data from the illegal attack on service blocking. This paper aims to build a system providing optimal services as a 4-stage defensive method through the test on the attack and defense of Cloud Computing services. It is a defense policy that conducts 4-stage, orderly and phased access control as follows: controlling the initial access to the network, controlling virtualization services, classifying services for support, and selecting multiple routes. By dispersing the attacks and also monitoring and analyzing to control the access by stage, this study performs defense policy realization and analysis and tests defenses by the types of attack. The research findings will be provided as practical foundational data to realize Cloud Computing service-based defense policy.
